Calling all Kobe Haters (Edited 05/14/10 04:18PM by )
Now that LeBron choked it up in game 6  with 9 turnovers, can everyone please get off his jock now. Yeah he had a Triple Double, but the 9 turnovers are what killed he Cav's in there final game this season. I dont recall Kobe ever having 9 turnover in an elimation game... so my question is:

Who would you rather have right now, for 1 season???

if 1 single player cant win games on his own why are you so sure the Wizards and Clippers would make the playoffs with Lebron ok i will give you the Wizards because they are in the east a .500 record and youre in but with the clippers the supporting cast there is no better than what he had in Cleveland ok you have Baron Davis but outside of that what do you have Blake Griffin who was injured and hasnt proven anything yet and a bunch of players that doesnt compare to what he had in Cleveland im not sold that adding Lebron alone would turn them into a 50 win team which is what it would take to make the playoffs in the west.

Put LeBron on the Lakers instead of Kobe, and they would be just as good as they are now, maybe better. Put Kobe on the Cavs, and they're a fringe playoff team. LeBron makes his teammates better... Kobe just has great teammates.

It amazes me whenever people under rate the Cavs team and glorify the Lakers team to make Lebron seem better. The Lakers team is NOT that great. Pau is good but useless defensively, Lamar Odom has been overrated for years, Artest is meh at best, Fisher is old and okay i guess, Bynum is good when available and the bench has Shannon Brown and sometimes Luke. Nothing extremely great about the Lakers except Kobe and Phil.  Also, Lebron wouldnt fit well with that team.He would mess up the dynamic, i think. And the Cavs while not a team of "greats" in their respective positions are to me one of the toughest, and for the most part, competitive teams in the league.  ALL of their players play hard every game, i mean this year's record should speak for itself. A team of "nobody's without Lebron" would have had more like a Clippers or Wizards record dont you think?

No, they wouldn't. Because they have LeBron. And in the NBA, one transcendent superstar can take a team from nothing to something. The Clippers and Wizards are just as bad as the Cavs... WITHOUT LeBron. So the addition of LeBron makes that much of a difference, simply because he's just that great.

from nothing to somethig, yeah i give you that. But if they are Clippers/Wizards without Lebron, you're telling me that on the strength of Lebron ALONE, they were #1 in the East. No. Lebron elevates them, true story, but if his team was as sub-par as people make them out, they wouldnt have been #1 in my mind. Playoff team off still but not the best. Put Lebron on the Wizards last year or the Clippers this year, do they make the playoffs?

Why does eveyone give LeBron so much credit? what has he won? I would rather have D-Wade over LBJ, at least Wade has won something!!!

Wade hasn't won anything. The Miami Heat won. Wade was merely a part of the TEAM... much like LeBron James is a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

No single player can win games on his own. Look at Wade's supporting cast in Miami when they won, and compare it to LeBron's supporting cast in Cleveland. Obviously Wade had the better team around him.

People with no analytical skills and/or basketball intelligence will look only at titles, and think that's all that matters. But people who truly understand the game will have a greater ability to isolate the play of a single player, and understand that their team success is only part of the equation.

They both had Shaq.

Wade's Supporting Cast    James Supporting Cast                      Advantage
PG- Jason Williams            PG- Mo Williams                                       James
SG- D-Wade                         SG- Anthony Parker                                   Wade
SF- Antoine Walker             SF- James                                                  James
PF-Undois Haslem            PF- Antawn Jamison                                 James
C- Shaq                                C- Shaq                                                       Wade- Just cause Shaq was younger

Bench (Players got got Decent minutes)
Miami                                                                                 Cavs
Gary Payton- Which was old and run down             DeLonte West
James Posey- Good defender                                    Anderson Varejo- Would start on most teams
Alonzo Morning - Only got about 8 MPG                    JJ Hickson/Zadrunas Ilgauskas

Advantage goes to LeBron James!!!!

I have no idea why you're comparing Wade to Anthony Parker and LeBron to Antoine Walker, when we're talking about Wade and James. You should take those two out of the equation and compare Parker to Walker. At the time, Walker was much better than Parker is now. Also, Shaq was a LOT better back then. We're talking about the difference between a top 10 player at the time he was with the Heat, and now he's a borderline starter. That's a HUGE difference.

Also, while Antawn Jamison is a better player than Haslem, the Cavs got him late in the year, and he wasn't able to develop chemistry.

You're comparing them using your own system in which you're determined to come up with the result that you want, but anyone who looks at it objectively will tell you that Wade had the better supporting cast, and it's not really even close.

King James!!!!!!!I  I don't hate Kobe, I've just always been a Laker hater.  Why? Well back in the 70's until they and New York or Boston were the only teams to have quality players only because they had the money to BUY them.

If you read it. I said Shaq on the Heat was better, because he was younger... I was going position by position as the "supporting cast" in your previous post. Here is exactly what you wrote:
"No single player can win games on his own. Look at Wade's supporting cast in Miami when they won, and compare it to LeBron's supporting cast in Cleveland. Obviously Wade had the better team around him"

That's why i broke down the starting lineup and the bench players with valuable minutes.
I agree about your Jamison point, he did not have time to build chemistry.

Look at the Clippers and the Wizards, and then look at the Cavaliers WITHOUT LeBron.

The argument really starts and finishes with the fact that Shaquille O'Neal was still a top-5 player when he was on the Heat, and now he's a scrub. We've seen time and time again that the "2 superstars" formula CAN win championships. But when's the last time you saw a team win with only 1 superstar, and a few borderline All Stars, at best?

I can't remember the last time that happened.

Right, but those are all relatively small differences. Shaq, however, is a HUGE difference when you compare him in his prime to the way he is now. With the Heat, Shaq was still the best center in the NBA. Now, he's an afterthought. That's HUGE.

I just sit and look and amazed, that people would think that Lebron can go to these teams and make them better, and to think that Kobe could not go the the Wizards, or Clippers, or even the Cavs, and take them to the playoffs. If you are gonna pick someone who will give it their all and abhors failure so he will do all that he can to win. It is Kobe, James is just not at that level.
