No one outside of New England gives a crap...
#3 | 1409 days ago

None of that changes the fact that the interest in those teams outside of New England is not what you believe it to be.

You are SUCH the broken record...
#4 | 1409 days ago

Well, the TV ratings don't support any interest.  In fact, most fans DON'T want to see the same old teams in the post season.

I think that true baseball fans would be pulling for the Rays vs either the Giants or Phils.  Both the Giants and Phils deserve to be there.  As do the Rays.  But certainly not the 2nd place Yankees.

Excuses excuses.  Teams don't "take their foot off the gas".  It can't happen.  You loose your edge and you can get severely hurt.
None of that changes the FACT that the Rays finished in first while the Yankees finished in 2nd.  Fact.  Verifiable.  Look it up.  The $206 million team LOST to the $17 million team.  For all intents and purposes the Rays are the AL Champions right now.

They are clearly the 2nd best team in the AL East.  The standings show it.

Highest ratings in 5 years?  Big deal.  Do you have any idea how LOW the ratings are?   Obviously not.  The ratings for MLB are crap.  It's why the ALCS is on cable instead of a real network.

BTW...  Regardless of the results of the 3 post season games...  Over the 162 game season the Twins were indeed the better team.  And all honest baseball fans are wishing the Twins won that series.

The best team is NEVER a 2nd place team.

Why do you need first place?  So you can EARN your playoff spot.  So you can be the best team in your division.
#7 | 1409 days ago

Yes, the Yankees went into the season as defending champs.  But because of their 2nd place finish, they will have to let it go for this year.  They cannot have it.  At least, to those who know and love baseball.

Sorry...  Yankees went into the season as the defending champs.  But that doesn't make them a 1st place team all season long.  The standings dictate who is in first and who isn't.  In case you forgot, you can find them right here.

If most Yankee fans could care less about first place, that tells me that most Yankee fans don't care about winning or that they have no integrity.

I have news for you...  ANY team when they are playing their best can beat ANY other team.  That is not just the Yankees.  So yes, first or 2nd DOES matter a great deal.

Yes, the Twins were better than the Yankees.  That is what the results of the 162 game season showed.  Just because they played bad ball for 3 games doesn't change things.

BTW...  The Giants were certainly a better team than the Braves.  But they are NOT better than the Phils.  That being said, even if the Giants manage to top the Phils in the LCS I will not be saying the Giants were the better team.  They merely played better over a best of 7 series.  But the Phils would STILL be the better team.

I have a feeling your mind will be incapable of processing that.

No.  I don't get your drift.  At all.  I have no idea what you are talking about.

WTF?????
#10 | 1408 days ago

This makes zero sense.

A college education is not like Major League Baseball in any way shape or form.

This is further evidence you have no clue about what makes baseball great.
#11 | 1408 days ago

So, is a college degree like the World Series ring?  You realize that only one team gets that while thousands of graduating seniors get their degrees each year....
#12 | 1407 days ago

I didn't realize there was a team in MLB called the Eagles.  Are they some kind of expansion team?  And what series were they playing in?  I don't see them on the TBS baseball schedule....
#13 | 1407 days ago

Hmmm....  Where to begin?  Let's be systematic.  The Eagles of Philadelphia don't play "real" football they play american football.
You left out the Flyers and Union when speaking about Phhilly sports teams.
The NFL game was on NBC.  An over-the-air network that could show a test pattern and STILL get better ratings than anything TBS puts on just because of their availability.
The Phillies already were in the playoffs.  They won their playoff spot weeks ago.

And finally...  You realize that by claiming the NFL out drew the baseball only supports my point that MLB is sinking in the ratings, right?  And it doesn't matter what team is playing.  It could have been the Yankees on Monday and they still would have been trounced in the ratings for all the reasons I have already gone over.
