Best Comeback? (Edited 10/13/10 03:02AM by Jess)
In a best of 7 series for a team to be down 3-0, you can pretty much seal it for them losing. In very rare situations teams over come the odds and win the series.

So who had the BEST comeback win. (If i am missing any that were down 3-0 in the best of 7, please provide the knowledge)

My favorite comeback is:  "I'd like to help you out. Which way did you come in?"

I had to go with the Flyers v. Bruins because the Bruins were soo strong this year and the Flyers weren't exepected to go too far!

What I think is amazing is that "Boston Teams" have been a part of the two best comebacks in Sports History (IMHO of course). The Red Sox big win against the Yankees in 2004 coming back from a 3-0 deficit was HUGE but I think this one by the Flyers was even bigger as I believe that Hockey is a much tougher sport to accomplish this kind of feat in.

I picked the Sox just because it was against a bitter rival and it was in the ALCS on a huge national stage. The flyer comeback was totally incredible, but it was in the second round. Plus three of the four 0-3 comebacks have been in hockey, so there was a precedence sort of.

For a single game - I think the Bills down 35-3 comeback vs the Oilers in a wild card game is the best.

the Red Sox comeback was a great comeback (although it may have never happened if a batted ball in the 4th game had been a few inches lower to prevent it from becoming a ground rule double) -- but I think the Flyers was a lot more unexpected --- especially being down 3-0 in the 7th game in Boston

Not only did the Flyers come back from being down 0-3 in the series....winning 4 straight, but in their 4th win (game 7) they were down 0-3 in the game and won 4--3----that's impressive.

I hate to break it to you... BUT, in a 7 game series, if any team is down 3-0 they would all have to win 4 straight... All for team here had to win 4 in a row... so your argument for them winning 4 in a row is lame, since they all did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......winning four straight wasn't my argument, (so glad you felt the need to "school" me on that fact )-------that was just added fluff. What impressed me most was the fact that they were down 0-3 in Game 7 and still won it.

****By the way, I was under the impression that this was an OPINION poll. I expressed mine-------------DEAL with it or at least read my entire comment before posting your "all knowing better than mine" response. Have a good one.

I understand they were down 3-0 during game 7, but you made it seem like you thought they were the only one that won 4 straight... so clam down there killer!!!

I understand Becky's problem, I don't understand your need to critique other opinions in your poll though.

Let people answer what they think, without the need to be re-questioned about it. If you've ever had that done to you, you'd understand exactly why she came off as "uncalm" to you.

Kind of putting out the fire before it even starts, don't ya think?

Nobady asked you for your 2 cents did they?the answer to that is NO!!! also, she made it sound like they were the only team to come back from 3-0, meaning it seemed to me likt she did not understand the question.

I'm with Becky!!! The Flyers win (the most recent of the 0-3 comeback to a 4-3 series win was freaking AWESOME)

I was torn, having been both a Flyers and a Bruins' fan during my youth (depending on who the cutest players were, I admit it) but my dad was always a Bruins fan, so I was cheering for them.  The Flyers got the job done and did it well, and as Becky said, being down by three goals in the seventh game and coming back to win was even more impressive.

Yes..  I was going to mention that about not only being down 3-0 in games...  But coming back from 3-0 in game 7 alone.

Impressive.  Very impressive.

She knew exactly what the question was, but it looked like you jumped down her throat because you didn't understand what she was saying.  You did make this poll to ask people for their opinions, right?  So if someone has a different opinion than you, so what?  I'm also going to give you a preemptive request to not come back at me like you did to James and say "nobody asked you for your two cents" because it looks like you're throwing her under the bus on an opinion poll in which people are entitled to explain their reasoning for their pick, which in Becky's defense, was a perfectly reasonable defense.

Seems as if opinion polls aren't your forte...perhaps you could try something else. (And, please, try not to make everyone from Texas seem like a jerk next time.)
