Which is MOST/MORE important? A combination of all three!  But in the REAL World it is neither, because in the REAL World it doesn't matter (at most things) what knowledge, experience, or time in service you actually have- it ONLY matters who you know, who's a$$ you are willing to kiss, and if your knee pads can withstand endless hours of weight on them.

To be perfectly honest, in the REAL World, knowledge and experience can sometimes be your worst enemy. I say this because in a lot of work environments, the "Bosses" don't want experienced and knowledgeable people- they want drones. If you are smart, experienced and driven- then YOU become a THREAT to their jobs as the "Owners" start to recognize YOU and your accomplishments and not the "bosses" anymore. The worst "boss" to have is one that is insecure about himself/herself because they ARE the ones that feel threatened at every turn of the clock.

I think experience and knowledge go hand in hand, Ive been at my job for 7 years, and i screw up a lot, but i have so much knowledge and experience that they cant fire me. Sure, they can bring in some hotshot with a college degree, but if he doesnt have the knowledge or experience that I do, then is he really worth replacing me?

Expierence and knowledge are great tool's but I saw more deal's getting done over drink's and dinner because the wives got along and then the wife tell's her Husband ( BOSS ) that she had a great time tonight and I like his wife, Deal Done !!

right on I have over 27years in retail grocery and all my bosses are less than 10 years and believe me they tread lightly around me,they know they can blow smoke in new employees ,yhey have stopped trying with me

hey jamie always like what you write, but let me share this with you.I have over 27 years in the grocery business and been everything from stoe mgr to bagboy, work parttime for super wal mart all my bosses men and women have alot less time and expierence than I THEY EVEN COME TO ME SOMETIMES FOR ADVICE ,I am retired and dont want mgmt job so no conflict,so maybe this man dont resent you because you are a women ( a wonderful one at that) maybe he thinks he should be in mangement,my advice if you would like it talk to him tell him you respect his knowledge and is anasset to the company but i am the manager ,so please do the same for me

knowledge can be obtained from any book, WISDOM can only be obtained from EXPERIENCE. As for working for a younger woman its no problem. Respect comes from on what you know and how you execute, not just becuase you have a title. Been in the telecom and insurance industry for over 20+ years and I have VP's asking for my opinion so i say each situation is diofferent.

Knowing your job and doing it well should really be all that matters.
I mean, it's NOT all that matters, but it should be.

experience and service. i've been with my boss for 20 years. he knows that if he wants something done to just tell me. he also knows that i've never called in sick.  work ethic really should have been in the choices. when you have a family to support only an idiot plays games with his job security.  i don't care who my boss or supervisor is. younger, older, man or woman.  it shouldn't matter. show up, shut up, and do your job.

It all depends on the type of job you're going to do, sometimes the three of them are needed and sometimes you acquire one or another by doing your job, all we need is the willing to do it and be responsible.

i completely support the merit system in the work place...many people ,becuse of the years they have in,think that they do not have to work or try as hard.....i think work ethetic  nd promotions should be based by who will do the best job..not years of service.

With the experience the knowledge grows and with time the service comes into play. All three link into each other. But not all jobs follow this...in some jobs it's who you know not what you can do that matters. It'a a jungle and you try to find your right path to get out of it.
