Battle of the Bulge....... General McAuliffe's response to the Germans surrender demands "NUTS" at the Siege of Bastonge is one the greatest phrases I've ever heard

Also "We Were Soldiers", "Midway", "The Longest Day", and "Braveheart" are all excellent war movies....... MY dad is a huge WWII buff so I grew up with a lot of WWII movies.

Tough picking just one. I grew up watching military movies with my dad and have a lot of favorites, but Full Metal Jacket gets the nod this time....with Saving Private Ryan and Hamburger Hill right up there with it.

One not mentioned was The Patriot.

I picked that one, but, there are others.

Full Metal Jacket with The Dirty Dozen and Dr Zhivago close seconds
#10 | 1577 days ago

The Longest Day, Battle Of The Bulge, Saving Private Ryan,  Patton, Flags Of Our Fathers(who cares what the Japanese thought on Iwo Jima), The Alamo, We Were Soldier's Once, The Green Berets, The Patriot, The Sands of Iwo Jima, The Flying Leathernecks, Full Metal Jacket.  Could go on, but just an idea of great war movies.

Ironically, that's part of the reason why I loved the movie so much. The book is the first that I just couldn't put down as a kid, and really instilled a love of reading within me.

"No boom-boom soul brotha, too beaucoup."

Too many quotes in that movie and I'm not even going into the ones that spawned a hit song. Kubrick's most underrated work.
