Tell me SOMETHING about a random city...

The great thing about the Internet age, is that you can look up practically ANYTHING and find out something about it. These polls can get a bit boring, so lets try something a little different. It will require you to do some research.

Someone names a CITY, and the NEXT person tells something about that city, then that person names a different city...and the next person tells about it....and so on. You can name any city in the world, lets see who can come up with the most interesting information.

If this poll sucks, I don't care...do something better if youre so bad ass!

The first city is....BILLINGS, montana

Blue Ball is an unincorporated community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania near 40°N 76°W. Blue Ball lies approximately 2 miles east-northeast of the town of New Holland, Pennsylvania at the intersection of US 322 and PA Route 23.

The name, though often considered sexually suggestive, has a thoroughly respectable origin; it comes from the Blue Ball Hotel, which stood on the southeast corner of the PA 23-US 322 crossroads. The inn is no longer standing; it was torn down in 1997 after more than 200 years [1]. In the early 1700s, John Wallace, an Irishman, built a small building at the intersection of two Indian trails - French Creek Path (Route 23) and Paxtang (Route 322). He hung a blue ball out front and called it "The Sign of the Blue Ball." Locals began calling Earl Town Blue Ball, after the inn. So in 1833, Earl Town officially changed its name to Blue Ball. Years later during Prohibition, the inn changed its name to Blue Ball Hotel

City of Florence.

Situated on the banks of the beautiful Tennessee River, Florence has a rich history.  Florence hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year including the NCAA Division II Championship Football Game.

Native Americans settled this area long ago, and the Indian Mound museum is located at a domiciliary mound near the river.  Florence is the site for the Alabama Renaissance Faire, held each October, as well as Arts Alive, Frontier Days Celebration, the Freedom of America Celebration on the fourth of July, an annual Trail of Tears Celebration, and many others.

Civic leaders decided a bridge across the Brazos was needed. It took 2.7 million bricks from Wacoan J.W. Mann and $135,000 to build the 475-foot span, which was finished in January of 1870. It was the first bridge built across the Brazos River.

Rio Vista is an upscale neighborhood in the southern section of Alpine. Rio Vista is home to Devil's Tower, a stone clock tower that is claimed to be haunted. The tower was originally built by sugar baron Manuel Rionda (1854-1943) in order to allow his wife to see New York from the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. The legend has it that when his wife saw him with another woman, she committed suicide by jumping off the tower. After becoming upset over his wife's death, Rionda stopped all work on the tower. In reality Harriet Rionda died of natural causes in 1922 and was interred nearby for approximately 20 years; her coffin was moved to Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. The estate was later sub-divided into 197 housing sites consisting of miles of roadway, infrastructure, and related facilities in the mid 1980s.

The abandoned Chesapeake and Ohio Canal has its Western Terminus here, and it is possible to travel by foot or on bike from here to Washington, D.C. along the canal towpath - a distance of roughly 185 miles (298 km).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.1 square miles (23.5 km2), of which, 9.1 square miles (23.5 km2) of it is land and 0.11% is water.

This was the terminus, and namesake, of the Cumberland Road.

The present-day site of Santa Cruz was the location of a Native American settlement since ancient times. It was also one of the earliest settlements of the Spanish during the exploration of Alta California in the later part of the 1700s, including a California Mission. During the late 1800s, after California became part of the United States, Santa Cruz became widely popular for its idyllic beaches and coastal redwood forests, establishing itself as a resort community. Santa Cruz is now known for its moderate climate, natural beauty, educational institutions, alternative community lifestyles, and socially liberal leanings. It is also home to University of California, Santa Cruz.

Other than being named for most people favorite past-time, it is believed to be named due to it's location relative to two main trade roads, Erection Blvd and Ovulation Lane.

Seriously though, it's an Amish village in PA.

Despite having a population of only 104 people, the village has become famous for its name, particularly in the English-speaking world. Its road signs are a popular attraction for visitors, and they were often stolen by souvenir-hunting tourists until 2005 when they were modified to be theft-resistant.

Named after a small Amish town in Pennsylvania, USA.

Actually pronounced "fooking" because of the residents odd accent.  Famous for this sign:

Many tourists like to have their picture taken next to it.
