Really?
 so i'm not sure if this has been done before, and I think it's almost a sick side without the pics, and major wtf!!!  But here we go.  i know we have those moments in real life that we have talked about all over the LR, but let's put them here.  I don't want pics (unless it's a pic you took of the situation) but you saw or heard something that made you go "Really?"  My example would be the 20" rims that said player in each of the 6 spokes.  The one I heard today will be my first comment.  Have at it and have a great weekend!!!

I had a woman come in today to get her dog groomed (after 4 missed appointments, mind you), nickel and diming me all the way.  Crying poverty about how she "can't afford" to pay for this or that, and wanting a discount or coupon.  Had me out there talking/negotiating for twenty minutes (for something that takes most about 3 minutes to do).  She comes to pick her dog up as I'm leaving for the day ... in her brand new Mercedes.
REALLY, bitch?!

I took a patient from his room to the GI lab just before lunch today.  My 2nd patient after lunch was the same guy to go from his room down for x-rays.  I happened to be right by the GI lab when I picked the trip up out of the tracking system, so I went in to ask how far along he was.  The nurse says "it's still showing pre-procedure."  So I walked out of GI and called x-ray...

"Hi, this is Bryan from transport.  Mr. (forget the dude's name) is in the GI lab and he's still in pre-procedure.  I just took him down there less than an hour ago."
X-ray tech: "Oh, did we put a trip in for him?"
Me: "Yeah you did."
X-ray tech: "We did?  Oh I see it, yes we did, you're right.  I'm sorry."

REALLY you idiots?!  Yes, you put the trip in, his floor wasn't stupid enough to do that, next time call up to his unit first to make sure he's there before you a) make yourselves look like a bunch of fools and b) waste my time!

The US Senate is looking a bill concerning the US Patent Office.

Apparently, being the "free" country we are kind of gets on the nerves of many politicians and "bigwigs."

To make this simple to understand, there are two commonly utilized systems for the filing of patents, "first to file" and "first to invent."

First to file is simple, the first person to file for the patent, regardless of whether they invented the product first, is the one who is granted the title:  Inventor

In the US, we do the right thing and award the person who can prove they invented a product first, regardless of who filed for the patent first, the title: Inventor

The Senate is doing this, because major corporations, playing them like puppets, are dissatisfied with a little company names "NTP Inc."   NTP has sued such companies as, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, T-Mobile, Verizon, Apple, Google, LG Electronics, Microsoft, and Motorola ...................... with Google and the latter being unwilling to comment at the time, and the former paying a hefty sum of $600million for rights to use their technologies.

I'm sure, Congressmen/women, that the best thing for our country to do is to watch out for the major corporations of this country, BECAUSE they wouldn't dare attempt to steal the multi-milllion, billion, and multi-billion+ dollar ideas of the little people!!!

Really!  They won't!  REALLY .... REEEEEEAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Morons!

I am (not by choice) the court clerk for the small city where I work, and we have a new traffic control oficer in our police department.  Since we are in a coastal/resort area, the tourists have been out in full force these last few weeks, and will be for the next few months, and they don't appear to care for the roadside manner, nor the enthusiasm, of this new officer.  Of course, when they call to find out how to handle their tickets, I catch the backlash.

During a very high-decibel-level conversation with one of the recent (unfortunate) visitors to our city, I was asked about / told the following...
  • Why is your speed limit 35 mph?
  • I suppose your city supports itself by being a speedtrap.
  • Did my expensive Lexus packed for a fun beach vacation with my granddaughter make me a great target?
  • Do your officers have nothing better to do than give grandmothers tickets?
  • Did it not dawn on your officer to give me a warning? It should have.
  • Don't you think the city should be reported for being a speedtrap?  You are one.
  • Do you think I will ever visit this little town again, let alone buy the property I was thinking about buying? Do you think I will ever spend any money anywhere in this town again?
  • How much is my fine?
  • Do you think I can keep this from going on my record?
  • Lastly, I was TOLD to give a copy of her email detailing all these same complaints to the judge.
I informed Mrs. Surly Pants, in the most polite and even-keeled voice that I could muster, that:
  • the road she was alleged to have been speeding on is a State of Texas roadway; the 35 mph speed limit was set by the state; and the signs, which are maintained by the state, indicating "Reduced Speed Ahead" and "35 MPH" are in place;
  • the revenue the city collects from the municipal court comes nowhere near offsetting the operating expenses of our police department and municipal court, and this revenue is expected to be less than 3% of the city's total operating budget for the current fiscal year; I also told her that as the court clerk, I am required to file monthly reports with the Office of Court Administration, and quarterly reports with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, that detail all court transactions and revenues collected; the statistical data given in these reports allows the state to monitor municipal court activity and prevent the collection of unauthorized fees and fines ("speedtrap");
  • as the municipal court cannot address the scheduling of our police officers, the discretion they may or may not exercise while on duty, and the duties to which they are assigned, I told her those concerns she had voiced would be forwarded on to the police chief, rather than the judge, but she insisted I also give her complaints to the judge;
  •  I told her that the fine amount for her alleged violation was $153, regardless of:  1) any familial relationships, 2) the type of car she was driving, be it a Lexus or a Kia, and 3) whether she was 18 or 80;
  • I told her she could take a Driving Safety Class to keep the ticket from going on her driving record, but she quickly informed she didn't have time for that and she didn't have time to come back here (all the 1 hour way from Houston) to deal with this stupid ticket;
  • so then I told her she could submit a written request for Deferred Disposition (probation) from the judge to keep the ticket from going on her driving record, and I promised  I would do as she TOLD me and put a copy of all of her complaints with her request for a deferred disposition so that the judge can review everything all at the same time.
Didn't mean to go on so long...but, Geez...do I look like the dumpy guy with a mustache, wearing RayBans, that pulled you over on the 4th of July weekend?!?!  Gimme a break...I'm the nicest little court clerk you're ever gonna meet, ok? Don't take it out on me!

Today at work, we were discussing the pros and cons of roommates. I said that I loved not having roommates cause you can walk around naked if you so choose. One of the female servers, hot with a banging body, says that her roommates walk around naked all the time, but won't let her. I asked why they had that rule, and she said she didn't know, especially since she lives with two guys. This baffled me more cause if I had a roommate that looked like her, I would be encouraging her to walk around the house naked, not discouraging her. Being the nice guy I am, I told her that if she felt the need to walk around a house naked, she can always use mine, in fact I am off Monday and Tuesday, if she didn't have plans. Really you are a guy and live with a hot chick, and you are telling her not to walk around naked? Reeeee-he-he-he-he-allllllyyyyyyy?

So I gave you a little bit of the circumstances in the Filter Error poll.

today at work, one of the beyotches was weeding the garden.  The chef came in to say hi to me (he's a friend, she's completely unaware of that) and told me that she was the one who was complaining about the tips on Saturday night.  He also told me that even after the boss and the other two girls asked that it be dropped, that Steph and I had obviously worked our azzes off, and deserved the tips, the one beyotch kept insisting that it be discussed and resolved to "her" satisfaction.  Now, this is the woman who openly pockets tips off the beer cart rather than putting them in the communal tip jar, calling them HER tips.....

So she comes iinto the clubhouse after her shift is done and comes up to me.  She says "I just want to let you kmow that I didn't say ANYTHING about the tips on Saturday night"

REALLY??????? Are you SURE??? Don't want to Revise that statement???? I mean REEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLYYYY??????

( i told her I simply did not want to talk about it any more.  I said "it's over and one with and I'm not discussing it.  I know who I can trust now")
