I was 8 and went to my best friend Regina's house. We sang, ate junk food and believe it or not stayed up til 2 am just so we could say we did...It is one of many great childhood memories.....

My parents went on a trip and took my 2 older brothers and because I was much younger I stayed home with a favorite aunt and cousins. I love them very much and liked being there but since   I was very attached to my mother, I cried everyday.. They did fun things with me and I got so much attention and they did their best tried to distract me, but no matter what I missed my mom so bad I still started everyday crying!!  It was pitiful....

It was ok but I sort of had a sick feeling with my mom and dad not around where I could see them. I was a bit shy and that didn't help any. They really were my security blanket.

I was 5 and traveled by plane to Lake Worth, FL to visit my aunt and grandmother. It was cool to fly for the first time by myself. I learned to play tennis, swim, and my first trip to Disney World. One of the few memories from my childhood that I can still remember.

When I was a young kid, my folks sent my sister and I to stay with family friends. These people were vegans, I am a carnivore, this was the longest and most miserable week of my life. My parents claim I was only there a week, but to me it seemed as if I was there for a year. I respect their choice in life, but what made me the most angry, was that they wouldn't take me anywhere I could buy a hamburger. I had my own money and all I wanted was a delicious hamburger. But these mean people wouldn't allow me to use my money to buy some real food.

When I was in Marching Band. I was not a band player, Did Flags.  I went to Canada for a week.  At first I was confused. I wanted Canadian Bacon.. when I ordered it, they said all we have is bacon.. I was like just give it to me... then I drank the water... I was so sick for the rest of the week.. I missed the parade.....  Dang Water!!!   Otherwise, it was a blast.. Loved being away from home...

I was six.  I went with my grandmother to Martinsville, Va.  That was about 60 miles away and we went greyhound.  That was fun.  I was never homesick when i was away from home as a child but when i got  married i was homesick for several years.  Went back home every weekend and one or two other nights during the week.  Go figure.
