My first job was working for Yellow Freight Trucking Company. My dad worked there and got me a job picking up trash that was around the truck lot. It was just in the summer time and I worked when my dad did.

I was a telephone solicitor selling the Star Ledger newspaper and a portion of the  profits went to St Jude Children's Hospital.  It is funny how things work out because a the time I was only 14 and I was not good at my job, I disliked sales very much and still do.  But over the years St Jude has become one of my favorite charities and the work they do there is amazing....  All the care is free to patients, first founded by Danny Thomas, you should check out its website, absolutely amazing...

St. Jude is very special to me also.  Know several kids who have been there.  And my sister, dad and daughter have either worked there or still work there.

My first job was typing data for Municipal Water system. 7 hours in front of a computer typing numbers only. After a while I was pretty fast. Still can type numbers without looking at the keyboard (just numbers OK? I'm terrible typing words. )

See, I had to come back for editing, I'll check twice before posting.

First job, like most teenagers, was babysitting, then worked for my aunt and uncle changing tunes in their juke boxes, cleaning and servicing pin ball games, foosball tables and pools tables.  Had my own pool cue at age 12 and knew how to play (yes I was a bit of a "shark") and then went to work for Sears when they opened a new store in my home town at age 16.  Earnings from Sears put me thru College.......

My first real job was working at a nursing home for 50 cents an hour. I did dishes, cleaned the dining room, and helped the cook get trays ready for the rooms when people couldn't come to the dinning room. I was 15 and working on a school permit It had its times sad-happy-sweet-lonely, however it made me feel sort of special.
