Oh yes, right there.
So have you ever been somewhere, or at an event that was so incredible that you can say to people and I was right there when it happened? You know that one moment that you knew you were seeing something wonderful, or maybe even horrific? I was at disco demolition night at Comiskey park, when if you brought a disco record you got into the double header for .99 cents. It was sponsored by the loop radio station.  You know  a death to disco thing. Well during the games they blew up the records, and then all hell broke loose people rushed the field, the sox had to forefit a game, all in all no bueno. I seen that on the news the other night and I said to my daughter,  yes I was right there. By the way so was my bqf Shaconage. So tell me your right there moment. Oh yes, right there. Photo

I was at the Forum (in In-gle-Woooooood) with my dad for Game 6 Stanley Cup Campbell Conference Playoffs (1993), Kings vs. Maple Leafs. Kings were down 2-3 in the series and needed to win to force a game 7 in Toronto. Kings won in OT. We all knew right then even though they still needed to win game 7, that they were on their way to their first Stanley Cup Final. IT was AWESOME. Cars honking down the street. The Kings haven't been to a Game 6 Conference Finals game since.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I was also at the Forum when Gretzky scored GOAL # 802 breaking Gordie Howe's record. (It was the only thing good happening that year Kings wise. lol)

I was in my second grade classroom watching the space shuttle launch when it exploded.

I was sitting in Faraguet State Park in Cour de Lane, Idaho at the Boy Scout Jambaree with over 1000 other scouts.  Watched the first landing on the moon.  Knew that was a historic moment.

Speaking of demolition I gotta go with "Black Friday"..the day an F5 tornado swept thru Edmonton in 1987. I was there and will never forget it.

Back in the mid 90's when my favorite team the Indians were a contender, it was vs Bal and the tribe was down by 2 it was the bottom of the 8th and my favorite Albert Belle was at the plate man he launched a first pitch heater into the BBQ pit back when it was called Jacobs Field now of course Progressive. Final Score Cleveland 6 Bal 5 .

I don't really have any of these...that I know of/remember.

The only thing that comes close is that I was in the last game in the Kingdome before it was imploded. It was a playoff game when the 'Hawks were still in the AFC - they played the Dolphins in the Wild Card game, Dan Marino and all. They lost...of course.

I don't know, there may be more. If so, I'll be back.

I also remember where I was the day Martin Luther King, JR. was murdered.  I lived in Memphis and still remember all the events just like it happened this morning.  NEVER want to live in turmoil like that again.

I was at the game when the flyers of 97 clinched the eastern conference finals against the rangers and lindros didnt touch the trophy. i was at marios lemieux last game, it was when the flyers knocked them out of the playoffs but i could be mistaken nto sure if that was before his comeback or the very last one.

Sports wise, me and my brother saw Strawberry hit "the ring" at the Big O in MTL, it was un-effin-real. Pete Rose break the "at bat" record (or something??), Gwynn's 3000nth, but Dravecky's arm going to bits sticks out the most in a bad way.

 I take it back.

I remember Disco Demolition, but I just saw it on TV. Harry Carey and Jimmy Piersall were calling the games on channel 44.

I was at the last Blackhawks game at the old Chicago Stadium. A 1-0 playoff loss to Toronto Maple Leafs.   I still have my ticket for what would have been the next game if they had won.

I remember the Shuttle also. Living in Florida we were close enough that on a clear day you can see the trail of it going up. Well, it was clear and cold, and we saw it go up......then something was weird as we saw the smoke split. When going back to the classroom, we were told that it had exploded. That's all we watched on TV the rest of the day.....

I was in Yankee Stadium on August 6, 1979, the day of Thurman Munson's funeral.  The Yankees had been in Ohio earlier in the day and came back to play.  There was a question whether or not the game would be played.  In those days (before ESPN), ABC had "Monday Night Baseball.  Bobby Murcer (my favorite player growing up) gave the eulogy.  Orioles were up 4-0 when Murcer came up in the bottom of the 7th and hit a 3 run homer.  He came up in the bottom of the 9th and hit a 2 run single to win the game 5-4.  On a side note, Ron Guidry pitched that night....he pitched a complete game-in today's game, he would have been out of there in the 7th inning...

I was also at Bat Day at Yankee Stadium August 22, 1976...Yankees were losing 8-0 going to the bottom of the 9th...scored 8 runs to send the game into extra innings...they lost 11-8 in  the 11th...
