Dream Cuisine? (Edited 08/03/10 09:21AM by )
I was talking to a buddy about Epcot Center over the weekend and I recalled all the different types of food I tried on the world tour.  It's tough narrowing it down to just one style of food, but I think it's safe to say everyone has a favorite.  I looked at a few sites and took some countries from their "Best Of" lists.  Feel free to mention some cuisines that may be very good, but fly under the radar.  Trying new foods is one of life's pleasures in my opinion.  So what is your favorite type of food?

This is going to be odd coming from me because in general I don't eat any Mexican because I hate the way it is prepared. However there are two separate times that I thought it was awesome. The first were simple enchilada's fixed by a friend - it was certainly Mexican but nothing like I had ever had. The second was at a oceanside bar & grill in Cozumel where they made tacos for the group I was with. They were amazing.

I'm going to New Orleans in February and can't wait to try some authentic Cajun grub.  My cousin goes to Tulane so he knows a few spots.  Not sure if you're from NOLA, but do you have any must try places?

Thanks in advance.

Yes please!

Cevapcici are made from two types of minced beef meat, hand mixed and formed with a funnel, while formed ćevapi are grilled.

While Macedonian kjebapi (ќебапи), Croatian and Serbian ćevapi/ćevapčići, Bulgarian kebabcheta (кебабчета) and Romanian mici/mititei are often made of both pork and beef.

A serving usually consists of 5-10 pieces, served with white bread (called 'Lepinja' or 'Somun'), minced red pepper, salt and onions.

Most cevapcici I get are 1/4 lamb, 1/4 pork, 1/2 beef.

Some friends of mine run a stand at the some of the city festivals

The cheap (Taco Hell) is greasy and tastes cheap. The others are either swimming in too much hot spice or are overloaded with jalapenos and onions. I like the spices but the places I have been usually equate Latin American/Mexican cuisine with so much heat that I can't taste anything else - and the cheap, well we get what we pay for.

I think that is what I did a poor job of explaining in the beginning... the best I had was while I was in Mexico, and the other was home made by someone who knew what they were doing.

Pizza is always good, 'cause you can have it so many ways. If I was to have a 'last meal' it would be a big t-bone steak laced with bacon, with tater-tots on the side. Yummy.
