Did you get burned? (Edited 10/12/10 02:16AM by Jess)
So I`m taking a shower this morning and turn on the hot water to get the temperature right and the f**king shower knob is already on! Holy third degree burns! So as I was sitting in the burn ward later I was thinking back to a time when me and my cousin were renting a place out on the coast. You know back when it was cheaper to roll your own. Anyways we had the old style tub with the faucets farther up on the wall...about waist height. We had a leaky hot water faucet so I, the handyman that I am, took the sucker apart and replaced the leaky parts. The next morning I`m chilling downstairs having a coffee and roll-your-own and the dog looks at me sideways, you know how they are when they can tell a disaster is about to happen. From upstairs I hear this unbelievable girly scream and then running down the upstairs hallway towards the stairs and I look at the dog in terror..didn`t I tighten that damn faucet?? So has anyone had any unforgettable handyman f**kups?Did you get burned? (Edited 10/12/10 02:16AM by Jess) Photo

if you have wd-40, a channelock pliers and duct tape you don't even need skills. "it's not really broke, it just lacks duct tape."

To a handyman?
Oh, honey.

My life is one giant handyman f**k-up. With all the stuff I've tried to fix in my condo, I'd say I have about a 50/50 track record. I made sure to assemble a team of local service folks from week one here (plumber, electrician, painter, general handyman ... recently added HVAC, too). I know me.

Well I am learning how to fix everything.

I tend to do everything I can myself.. I've been around the electrical trade my entire life, and I can handle most plumbing, HVAC and general handyman issues.. My next project is going to either be tiling or laying hardwood in my kitchen and dining room and a concrete patio and brick fire pit and grill station in the backyard

I like to do things by myself, I know a little bit about electricity (from when I was in junior high) and I try to figure out what happens when something is broken (I have received some electric shocks, but nothing serious ) I have plastered imperfections on the walls cos I don't like to see any. I fixed a videocamera once, I just look for what seems to be out of place and Voilà! If something works, good, if not, it doesn't matter cos it was broken anyway. I don't know why, but I like tools, maybe in my past life I was an electrician, handyman or something like that
