Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Good Morning. I no longer feel like Death for those who care!! This is my last stupidly early day at work. WOOT! So to quickly recap...REALLY OLD PEOPLE should NOT drive, especially on the highway. Is it okay to call the police on them, I almost did last week? Seriously. It's ridiculous. This includes people who just moved to the country and got a license after a 15  minute test but have no idea how to merge onto a highway, and/or what lane it is acceptable to drive 50 in. Get a clue or a bus f**king pass. And why in the flying f**k, would you think it's a good idea to text on the highway while driving 70 at 3pm in the afternoon is beyond me. I think I nominate you to be shot, so as to avoid the future accident that will lead to someone else's serious injury. Minority Report, anyone? Head and sinus mess and whatever is in the air that causes it, sucks royally. Is Bill O'Reilly really attacking Jennifer Aniston about a movie role...God that man makes me wanna shoot something or SOOOME BODY. There was more but people keep interrupting me, damn this employment (not really, I need my money). Anyway, have a Splendiforous day, and Remember...it's so hard not to love me.  Apparently I'm going to have a Monday.

Up at 6, to see the kids off to their first day of school.  Daughter is trying out for  Volleyball again this afternoon, so good luck to her.

Braves won, Royals won.  That part of sports was good.  While I did watch the Redskins preseason on Friday, there is no way I'm getting excited over preseason football.  It's not the same, and imo, anybody who is excited over it just because football hasn't been on in months needs to chill the f**k out.  I'd rather go watch my High School football team practice than NFL preseason.

So i was up at 6, will be in bed after midnight, then up at 6 again.  I think my sleep in day will be Friday.  Hopefully.

If I give up on looking for a relationship, will it look for me?  People say you will get it when you least expect, but if no one is looking or expecting, who is doing anything.  The rules of Relationship and Love piss me off.

I think I chose the poison after hearing this song this morning and knowing I was going to use it:

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and fate

I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moments of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a General's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I watched the glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the Gods they made

I shouted out
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
Well after all
It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game, ooh yeah

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails just call me Lucifer
I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me, have some courtesy
Have some sympathy and some taste
Use all your well learned politics
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, mmm yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, mmm yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, get down
Woo hoo, ah yeah, get on down, oh yeah

Tell me, baby, what's my name?
Tell me, honey, baby guess my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name?
I'll ya one time you're to blame

What's my name?
Tell me, baby, what's my name?
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name?

Haha, the grits line reminded me of one of my favorite movies, "My Cousin Vinny."

Vinny Gambini: How could it take you five minutes to cook your grits when it takes the entire grit-eating world 20 minutes?

Mr. Tipton: Um... I'm a fast cook, I guess.

Vinny Gambini: [across beside the jury] What? I'm sorry I was over there. Did you just say you were a fast cook? Are we to believe that boiling water soaks into a grit faster in your kitchen than any place on the face of the earth?

Mr. Tipton: I don't know.

Vinny Gambini: Perhaps the laws of physics cease to exist on your stove. Were these magic grits? Did you buy them from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans?
Sure, sure I heard of grits. Iíve just never actually seen a grit before...

I am just starting my day off.  Trying to get my daughter up is for the birds. She still thinks going to bed at 1am is good. Not really, She has to start school in a few weeks... Trying to put her to bed at night is a freaking chore too... I was about to lose it last night, but my Guy said to let her learn the hard way... She is learning this morning... Ms. Crabby pants is what we are calling her today.

Just found out my job that I was training to do, is only an on-call one... Why the he!! didn't they tell me when they hired me... Off to look for another job...UGH!!  I had a few ppl ask me to watch kids, maybe I will go back to that for awhile.  Still be bringing in a few bucks that will help.

It looks like it will be a nice day out.... hope I get out there before the rain comes.... I think we are getting rain... my days have run together.
Woke up to this song on my iPod

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road

Yeah, It’s been a ride…
I guess i had to go to that place to get to this one
Now some of you might still be in that place
If you’re trying to get out, just follow me
I’ll get you there

You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ‘em
But you won’t take the sting out these words before I say ‘em
Cause ain’t no way I’m let you stop me from causing mayhem
When I say ‘em or do something I do it, I don’t give a damn
What you think, I’m doing this for me, so f-ck the world
Feed it beans, it’s gassed up, if a thinks its stopping me
I’mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me I’m tearing down your balcony
No if ands or buts don’t try to ask him why or how can he
From Infinite down to the last Relapse album he’s still sh*ttin,
Whether he’s on salary, paid hourly
Until he battles out or he sh*t just battles out of him
Whichever comes first, for better or worse
He’s married to the game, like a f*ck you for Christmas
His gift is a curse, forget the earth he’s got the urge
To pull his d*ck from the dirt and f*ck the whole Universe

Ok quit playin’ with the scissors and sh*t, and cut the crap
I shouldn’t have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it’s a rap
You said you was king, you lied through your teeth
For that f*ck your feelings, instead of getting crowned you’re getting capped
And to the fans, I’ll never let you down again, I’m back
I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact
Let’s be honest, that last Relapse CD was “ehhhh”
Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground
Relax, I ain’t going back to that now
All I’m tryna say is get back, click-clack BLAOW
Cause I ain’t playin’ around
There’s a game called circle and I don’t know how
I’m way too up to back down
But I think I’m still tryna figure this crap out
Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn’t
This f*cking black cloud still follow’s me around
But it’s time to exercise these demons
These motherf*kers are doing jumping jacks now!

And I just can’t keep living this way
So starting today, I’m breaking out of this cage
I’m standing up, Imma face my demons
I’m manning up, Imma hold my ground
I’ve had enough, now I’m so fed up
Time to put my life back together right now

It was my decision to get clean, I did it for me
Admittedly I probably did it subliminally for you
So I could come back a brand new me, you helped see me through
And don’t even realise what you did, believe me you
I been through the ringer, but they can do little to the middle finger
I think I got a tear in my eye, I feel like the king of
My World, haters can make like bees with no stingers, and drop dead
No more beef flingers, no more drama from now on, I promise

To focus solely on handling my responsibility’s as a father
So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof like my daughters and raise it
You couldn’t lift a single shingle on it
Cause the way I feel, I’m strong enough to go to the club
Or the corner pub and lift the whole liquor counter up
Cause I’m raising the bar, I shoot for the moon
But I’m too busy gazing at stars, I feel amazing and

I’m not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We’ll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you’re not alone
Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road
take it all off...

Dave, you'll be happy to know that Rivals.com has your Huskers coming in at #5.  I know preseason ranking are meaningless, but maybe that will help your Monday a tad.

[Chorus:]
My name is not Susan
So watch what you say
If you still need her
Then be on your way
Don't wanna hear about Susan
She's got nothin' on me
So show some respect for the love you receive
My name is not Susan
(No, no, no, no, no -- get it right)

Last night you were asleep
Deep in a dream
I heard you call her name
Then you turned to embrace
I froze in place
Never to be the same

Now Romeo you know I never knew
My heart would bust so easily
I know you think I oughta let it go
But get it right next time
Say good-bye to me boy

[chorus]

I never want to be the girly that you "call" one and only
You know the kind of girly that you would call when you get lonely
I never should have let you in,
A damn shame -- forgot my name!
Well, anyway

[chorus]

Don't want to hear about Susan
My name ain't Susan [X3]
Ya better get it right!

marissa tomei in the end of my cousin vinnie may be the sexiest female monologue in the history of cinema,

throwing this out here early cause it sucks so bad i have TO SCREAM and then f*cking get off it. my co-worker's mother died unexpectedly this saturday. a co-worker i am close to. and it has been brought to my attention by my senior pastor that her death could have been prevented had i added her mother's name to the weekly prayer chain like i should have months ago. i.e. a man of the church is putting this 64-year old woman's death on my shoulders. f*ck him and f*ck this f*cking piece of sh!t church. i want to go deeper on this a little bit, but i am being very very respectful of the feelings of people in here with a flair for the religious arts. f*ck.

i broke. i have had 5 cigarettes this weekend. would have been close to 50 if i hadn't "quit."  i'm weak. today's a new day.

astros, astros, astros. you boys are the apples of my eye. my reasons for waking up every morning (except some mondays and thursdays) between april and october. if ed wade had listened to my couch scouting the last two years, he would have brought this chris johnson kid up two years ago. but that is neither here nor there. maybe wade is the genius though. because this new team has been more exciting and more - what's the stupid word.........................- consistant! (*singing* consissssstaaaaaant. i love when i figure out just what it is my brain is trying to say.) and gel-y than i can remember in a long time.

it was preseason and our 18th stringer guys were in but saturday's game against the cardinals was frighteningly familiar looking. and i don't care if this guy throws 100% interceptions or never even goes in during a regular season game. i want his jersey. and i want it bad,.

speaking of texans, it's obvious kris brown (so hot) wants to keep his job. slaton on the other hand looks like he is headed for a career in automobile sales. really? can't make it through a preseason game without fumbling the ball on the one yard line? pout on the sideline. i don't care anymore. foster is our man and you proved it on saturday. f*ckin butterfingers. getting tickets for the november 7th games. texans and chargers. heh, ooooright...

my heart goes out to dustin johnson. understatement of the year: what a bummer.

one last thing. i tried a new recipe on saturday. called guacamole soup. it was not soup. it was the largest amount of green sauce i've ever seen in one location. did you know green sauce makes you fart? did you know that if you eat just green sauce (because you were under the impression that "soup" suggests a meal) for dinner, it makes your farts very regular and it makes them smell like straight guacamole? not mine. i don't really fart. and if i did, they'd smell like roses anyway...

Sure, sure I heard of grits. Iíve just never actually seen a grit before...

so I still haven't had a chance to see what Dustin Johsnon did.. Did he really ground his club?  My local CBS affiliate switched over to the Broncos game as he was sizing up his shot and it did look like the ball was in a bunker.. c'est la vie.. he'll win a major next year

Speaking of the Broncos.... well, the first team offense and defense looked good

On the Rockies front, Ubaldo should have got his 18th win yesterday if it weren't for an ineffective 9th inning by Huston Street culminating in Clint Barmes pulling a Bad News Bears stunt and misplaying an infield pop up with two outs allowing two runs to score and tie the game.  Oh, and let's not forget the Rockies loading the bases in the bottom of the 8th with nobody out and nobody could get a job done.. Ugh

It was good meeting cactus_jack this weekend, and I hope his liver is in the process of recovering from his trip.. very cool guy

And since I was rocking The Black Keys' Attack and Release album all weekend, let's drop a track

The Black Keys - Lies

You said the moon was ours
Yeah, you said the moon was ours
To hell with the day
The sunlight is only gonna take love away

today was the fastest 50-spent respects day since that started. good work everybody.

have some bad blisters on my heels from running. the lesser of the bastards just got run over by my desk chair wheel and has been laid open so deep, ol' nessy could take up residence.

becky, i finally figured out the song you remind me of. (first verse only, as i didn't actually know there were two)

my sports radio guys just played party in the usa. this is the first time i have heard it and might be the first time i heard that chick period. funny thing is, the guy said he's gonna go put his head in a microwave over it. well AJ, while modern conveniences are grand, i don't think you can actually nuke yourself to death in a microwave. gotta go slow and old school, my friend. takes longer, but tastes better. god, we have gotten so lazy.

heard a favre soundbyte: "you'll probably have a definite answer tomorrow." or something along those lines. i also almost (wow. what a slip....officially scared to drive the rest of the day.) wrecked my car i was laughing so hard.

Me too, although I think I have a couple left....

As for your people at work, I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not.  If it were me, and something of that nature were brought forth again, I would ask them if their contribution was worthy enough and perhaps it was their lack of conviction that was the real factor--especially the Pastor.  Isn't prayer supposed to be something he pays attention too?

Casting blame upon the innocent to deter one's own desire / participation is an action of the dishonourable.

Happy Monday peoples.  After an incredibly loud and long Thunderstorm, pretty much all night and right overhead, I'm tired.  However work day today should only be 6 hours as I am on 3 to closing and we rarely go later than 9pm.  Even the golf course in town, the hoity toity one, was closed when I went by at 8:40 last night to get my kid from the fair. (it was raining)

Kid number one has been really down since the incident with the no brake gator and I can't seem to do anything about it.  Hubby seems to be out of sorts as well as he managed to drink his way through five cases of beer from Friday night to Sunday night.  He hasn't done that kind of drinking in a very very long time.  I think it is the death of his friend.

Anyway, the sun is sorta shining, so that's good, although it is messing with my "what to wear for work" as it is supposed to T-storm again today.

*sigh*

"Memory"

This may never start.
We could fall apart.
And I'd be your memory.
Lost your sense of fear.
Feelings insincere.
Can I be your memory?

So get back, back, back to where we lasted.
Just like I imagine.
I could never feel this way.
So get back, back, back to the disaster.
My heart's beating faster.
Holding on to feel the same.

This may never start.
I'll tear us apart.
Can I be your enemy?
Losing half a year.
Waiting for you here
I'd be your anything.

So get back, back, back to where we lasted.
Just like I imagine.
I could never feel this way.
So get back, back, back to the disaster.
My heart's beating faster.
Holding on to feel the same.

This may never start.
Tearing out my heart.
I'd be your memory.
Lost your sense of fear.
(I'd be your memory)
Feelings disappeared.
Can I be your memory?

So get back, back, back to where we lasted.

Not a chance.  And Julianna is beautiful, even in her tears.

And up here in Canuckland (well in my province anyway) you need the name of the kid's normal family doctor and the city/town they last saw them and you give that info when you book the appt.  They get the records they need themselves.  All you need is their PHN (health registration number) but even without that, they can cope.  Birth certificate is helpful, and any member of the family can order a copy of that (there's legwork, but it's possible)  The focus up here is on getting the kids the treatment and vaccinations they need to have, rather than on beaurocracy (I can't believe I actually admitted that I approve of something this jacka$$ Gov't does)

Yesterday my computer kept telling me I had a virus, even the system restore wouldn't work.  So, this means I had to restore my computer to its factory settings and completely erase everything.  I made sure my pictures, comp, resume, and WSI and KMT documents were saved on a flash drive before clearing everything out.  Now that I've installed McAfee and am paying for it, I know damn well it will be better than the POS Trend Micro that Allegheny offered.  I have to put my WSI and KMT lists back on my computer, but music trivia will be delayed by 24 hours for this very reason.  Also, I get to go to the Pirates game tonight in private boxes thanks to my dad winning tickets earlier this year.  Trust me, I wouldn't go if I had to actually PAY for the tickets!  I am not optimistic about anything this team does, but if I get to act like a king for a night, I don't care what they do.

I love kissing and making up.

I love that my last class is my internship, which my job qualifies as my internship, and I'm getting paid to do it.

I love discounted memberships to the Cardinal Club, so I can play more golf.

I love that I'm hearing Pomp and Circumstance in my head this whole semester.

I love that live college football is 19 days away from me.  Actually, it's longer than that b/c I'm missing the first game for something else that I'm glad is only 18 days away.

That's all.

marissa tomei in the end of my cousin vinnie may be the sexiest female monologue in the history of cinema,

throwing this out here early cause it sucks so bad i have TO SCREAM and then f*cking get off it. my co-worker's mother died unexpectedly this saturday. a co-worker i am close to. and it has been brought to my attention by my senior pastor that her death could have been prevented had i added her mother's name to the weekly prayer chain like i should have months ago. i.e. a man of the church is putting this 64-year old woman's death on my shoulders. f*ck him and f*ck this f*cking piece of sh!t church. i want to go deeper on this a little bit, but i am being very very respectful of the feelings of people in here with a flair for the religious arts. f*ck.

i broke. i have had 5 cigarettes this weekend. would have been close to 50 if i hadn't "quit."  i'm weak. today's a new day.

astros, astros, astros. you boys are the apples of my eye. my reasons for waking up every morning (except some mondays and thursdays) between april and october. if ed wade had listened to my couch scouting the last two years, he would have brought this chris johnson kid up two years ago. but that is neither here nor there. maybe wade is the genius though. because this new team has been more exciting and more - what's the stupid word.........................- consistant!

I didnt have time to respond to this earlier, but your senior pastor is an idiot and one of the reasons that though I love the idea behind most churches, I cant actually deal with the reality of them. The people give church a bad name. I know you dont want to offend but I care about as much as that pastor cared about your feelings. This pissed me off! Plus, I think I only have 3 overtly "religious" friends here, and they should be okay, if not...

Let me just say that thinking a prayer chain would change anything is fairly illogical, IMO. I understand why people pray, i do it everyday (and it honestly began because I was taught that prayer changes things), but I am also not delusional about the power of it and there is no evidence that it has changed anything, NOR can it be proven. It provides comfort, solace, or just an emotional outlet for some, but if it actually changed anything, we'd have world peace, now wouldnt we? No babies would ever die, there would be no violent crimes, and I would live with Johnny Depp. What makes me say this besides all of the Sunday School, youth bible study, and vacation bible school arguments, including situations where they had to actually go get the pastor, deacon, reverend, bishop, whoever (yes, i was that girl and have attended several types of churches), it's simple really? God is onmipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. All powerful, all knowing, everywhere therefore all-seeing. Some popular church sayings include God sees all, God knows all, God knew you before you were born (my fave), and specifically in relation to death...It was God's will, It must've been his time, The Lord called him home, etc, etc. Based on this, if God knew us before we were born AND is all knowing AND has a will and master plan, then God knows when and how we all will die. If he already knows when my time will be up, then my mom praying for me to make it through the night, and me actually making it is because it wasn't my time yet, not because she asked. Basically, a lot of religious beliefs say that our existence is predetermined since God already knows whats going to happen, and the other religious beliefs would have us believe that we have the power to change that predetermination. Makes no sense.

No Pastor in their right mind would even begin to blame you for the death of another let alone base the foolish belief on whether or not a member's name was on a list. If he REALLY believed that her being on that list would have saved her, He would have ensured that she was... hell, he would ensure that every person any of us have ever said a prayer for was on that list. If that's the case, I need to understand why my grandmother is not still alive. I mean many more faith filled people prayed for her than me. I guess it was just her time, or maybe she needed to be on the list at THAT particular church since obviously no one in their prayer chain has ever died. That is simply amazing. I am sorry he said that to you, and if i was standing near your senior pastor when he said that to you, I would have knee'd him in the groin and tried to break his nose. Seriously.

Seriously.
Very well said, now let me put in my two cents. So now, at least according to this pastor, whether you live or die is determined by the number of people that you have praying for you. Well if this is true, I am f**ked, in fact the list of people praying that I die will more than likely be considerably larger than the list of people praying that I live. So god works like facebook and is nothing more than a popularity contest. The fact that, I am going to assume here, the family and friends of the deceased, that were praying for this person were neither large enough or cool enough to allow this person to live. She needed more people to live, this person just wasn't cool enough or popular enough to be allowed another minute on this planet.

See this is the problem with religion, they are all self absorbed. Their Deity they believe in is right and everyone else is wrong. It is moments like this that I am glad that I got away from religion when I did. I am glad that I learned to think for myself, I learned to question the hypocrisies of religion. I do not begrudge you, your faith or beliefs, that is for religions to do.

Leigh, take no offense to my first paragraph, I was not trying to make fun of your friends mother and am sincerely sorry for their loss.

Ash and Kevin, thank you, thank you.  I have no need to try to explain MY feelings about this nonsense, you have aptly done so for me.
Work was boooooorrrrrrring.  It started raining about 6pm and it POURED.  I tried to walk to my car and almost had to swim.  It was ridiculous.  Not only that, but I get within one mile of home (I live about 15 miles from the golf course) and it is bone dry.  We didn't get a drop.  Now it is t-storming again, though, so I hope I can sleep.

Have a great night all!

ashlie and kevin - thank you so much. i know it is all nothing more than an awful, and ignorant thing to say, but last night i was killing myself over it. i don't want to go much more into it than this. i ran that horrible thing through my head until about 4 this morning and just exhausted it.

the ironic part in all of this is the methodist slogan is open hearts, opend minds, open doors or some horsesh!t like that. last wednesday i had to tell a dude my age who just looked absolutely leveled that if he wanted to pray in the church, he''d "have to come back between the hours of 9:30am and 5pm." we don't have hours when people can sit in the sanctuary and pray, meditate, snooze, whatever. open doors my ass. open minds, psh whatever.open hearts...when it's convenient. if vandalism is what they're concerned about (which is the main issue and yes, the openness of this church has been exploited, so i do get it to some degree) then hold services in a cardboard box. or in a park. something. if the church wasn't so stuffed with fancy, expensive sh!t - which has never brought me closer to any god - then people could come and go as they please with no worries or foul play. when i told that boy he wasn't allowed to pray because we we're essentially closed for business i walked away, my eyes stinging and called the pastors as i drove away as fast as i could for the day. who the f*ck am i to tell him when and where he can pray? god d*mmit. that's not my job and i know it sounds backwards, but i am not paid nearly enough to tell someone those words. the guy settled for praying next to a fountain outside, but he was wearing some hip-hop clothes and this church is snooty city which would categorize this dude immediately as "delinquent." i know as soon as one of the old biddy's having dinner saw him, they'd get scared and get some one to shoo him out. f*ck this f*cking place.

and people say working in the bar is bad for my soul. f*ck that sh!t.

i don't know if any of this even makes sense. and i don't feel like going back and reading it. i hate it all. long story short, thanks you two for your input. i really needed it.

Sure, sure I heard of grits. Iíve just never actually seen a grit before...

I was raised Roman Catholic.  I moved to a location that had no Roman Catholic church (note I still respect my roots enough to capatalize the RC) for 14 years, yet I managed to pray often and religiously.  When I moved to my current location and went to the church to "rejoin" I was not asked why I was away from my church or why I was returning, only what my yearly earnings were.  They wanted me to tithe 10% of my yearly earnings before I would be welcomed back into the fold.  I walked away and have lived these last 16 years away from the church in which I was raised. MY GOD does not ask me for money, only for my faith, my trust, my love, my faith.

Sadly, my questions have ranked much higher than those.  I still believe, but I believe what *I* believe, not what someone tells me I must believe or how I must believe it.  I question much of my upbringing now, and  celebrate my own beliefs. I don't think they actually fit into any real religion.  I don't honestly think ANY religion celebrates opening and closing hours.  I think that we all feel what we feel in our hearts is RIGHT.
