the falls and winters here (i love how the whole state, esp Atlanta, shut down when we have flurries or it gets really cold, plus the trees in fall are beautiful), GA accents, the overpopulation, the variety of people, the actual city of Atlanta is probably one of the least biased places in the South,Waffle House's on every corner, easily accessible Targets, I really could do this all day. Where am I moving? ugh...I would never move.

The peace of mind that you are accustom to. Change is great and needed but once you settle on something/ somewhere for any amount of time it becomes human nature to be leery of change but like always we adapt to the changes.

The Food !    There are many great things about Cajun country and one of the top has to be the FOOD !  I enjoy many other types of foods like chinese and italian but Cajun food is just in a class of its own.

Depending on where I was moving to, I would miss...

- The seasons (I like having 4 distinct seasons).
- Being within an hour of anything you could ask for ... beach, city, farmland, you name it.
- NY style pizza ... you can't find it anywhere else in the country except for NY/NJ, and as a foodie, this is important.
- The diversity, and since we're the most densely populated state,  it's in your face, like it or not.
- And specifically for my house itself, being within walking distance (not like I would  but still) of a Dunkin' Donuts AND Starbucks.

The effing cold winters - NOT!!

I have been here plenty long enough and honestly don't want to live here any longer.  However, there are ties here that are difficult to break.  I just honesly don't know how much longer I'll be able to take the horribly long winters.

So jealous. I moved from a place that the Starbucks was in a pretty convenient location. Now it's smack dab in the middle of Duval. I have to ask myself "is it worth the $5 parking, the walk from the car in the 100 degree heat, the traffic and dealing with bicycles and scooters this early in the morning?" Oh I'm sure it'll be good for my ass that I'm not going as much anymore but it still sucks.

I would say the 4 seasons that are unique to the NE area. Even though I am totally sick and tired of the winters and I hate this time of year because I know that 5 months of gray/cold/dark is coming - I think I might miss the seasons more than I am aware.

After 23 years in this town, I am ready to move. I have made some tentative plans, a few times, yet somehow something always seems to happen to keep me here. Oh well, maybe next spring will give me an opportunity to get out of here.

You might be surprised, I grew up in the cleavage of north Idaho (I call it that because we were nestled between two ski hills). It was beautiful - all 4 seasons were unique and amazing. Everyone told me I would miss the snow and the seasons when I moved to the coast...and I thought maybe I would...but not even one bit have I missed that cold and snow. Ew. And I've been away from it for 8 years now.

Lil, BIG misconception, I live in Northern Arizona, Flagstaff is above 7,000 feet above sea level. Rarely do we see summer temps in the high 90's let alone above 100. We don't see temps, of minus 40, in fact unless it is over night, it rarely drops below zero. This past January, we got 54 inches of snow over a 96 hour period. This is an extremely rare occurrence for us, but we do get snow in the winter time. So if you do decide to move to AZ, you want to be in Southern or Western AZ. The winters in Northern and Eastern AZ are nothing like you are used to, but it is colder and we do get snow. Flagstaff's average snow fall is, about 100 inches for a year.

Well, I prolly could live with that, cuz I do enjoy a little bit of snow, lived with it all my life.  And we get about the same amount of snow, I have posted pics of our back yard, and a couple of years ago we got 11 feet of snow.  We couldn't see the sides of the roads the banks were so high.  I like heat, but I'm sure that 100+ day after day would do me in.  I'm just sad that our summer is already over with and it seems it just got started.  We had snow the last week of May, and I expect we will get snow any day now.  Oddly enough, we have seriously considered moving to AZ and talked to Jimbo and Lisa about it before Jim's passing.

A) I would miss having 4 distinct seasons also.. HIghs in the upper 90s 100s in the summers, the amaxing springs and falls, especially driving throiugh the mountains when the leaves change, and getting 8 inches of snow overnight and in the morning only to see it melt by the end of the day
B) We don't have beaches
C) I will make you NY style pizza.. I'm a damn good chef
D) The diversity here is great, plus for a somewhat big city, Denver still feels like a smallish town
E) I'm still working on that Dunkin franchise, but I have a Starbucks 4 blocks from my house

Geez -- not much here to miss ... the high taxes, snow, greedy idiots running the state, everything else that's worth seeing for me, I've seen hundreds of times.  And yes -- I want a little cheese with that whine
