Favorite Stadium Grub? (Edited 09/15/10 10:36AM by Jess)
We're all on the Q so I think it's safe to assume we all love sports.  And we're all human so we have to eat.  When you put sports and food together, it doesn't get much better.  I've been fortunate enough to travel to quite a few ball parks and stadiums and I've inevitably tried the local cuisine.  Some of my favorites were the garlic fries in San Francisco, the steaks in Philly, the brats w/ secret sauce in Milwaukee, and the BBQ stuffed potato in Houston.  As for my hometown teams, nothing beats a Chicago style hot dog or the Italian beef(washed down with an Old Style of course).

So what are some of your favorites?

I rarely ever eat at stadiums. Food disrupts the flow of alcohol.

AMEN to the garlic fries in San Francisco. When I went to AT&T Park I was amazed at all the different kinds awesome food they have there. I haven't been to a ton of stadiums but I've been to a few. Seattle doesn't get too awfully inventive in either football or baseball - they have your general run of the mill choices and then they're repeated on the other side of the stadiums...but AT&T, there's a wide array of anything you could want. There's a junior hockey rink in Spokane, Washington that has quite the selection of food too...I have to give that honorable mention.

Now, popcorn and fresh roasted peanuts - Safeco has that hands down, but as for other food I don't think SF can be beat.

I've heard the salmon sammich @ Safeco is amazing.  I'm supposed to finally make my way to Seattle next summer and I can't wait to try it.  I'm actually visiting a buddy in Spokane, so maybe I'll check out the ice rink grub.

From the olden days has to be Pretzels and Hot Dogs.

But nowadays Stadiums have so many more options. I enjoy a Philly Cheese Steak or an Italian Hoagie.

Oh and the nice cold, ice cold BEER.......

Definitely hit up a Chiefs game if you're in town during hockey season...they're a blast. That's the team that got me into hockey all those years ago :)

I've never had a salmon sammich - I dunno, maybe Safeco has a lot more than I realize; they just don't have much that appeals to me.

Oh...and you have to try that Safeco "butter your own" popcorn. I don't know if they have that everywhere or not but mmmmmmm!

Before I started my diet, I used to like the Mexican food they serve at Chase Field (Diamondbacks). They have all sorts of interesting twists on various common ball park foods.
#6 | 1317 days ago

Whistle Stop Roast Beef Sandwich (a carry over from the Forum) at STaples Center. Hmmmmmmmmm

Wetzel Pretzels are pretty darn good as well.

Diet, you say?
I have approximately 11.4 tons of Nutrisystem food sitting here that I can send you if you'd like.  Really.  I don't mind.  I'll even pay the shipping.  And throw in a little something extra for taking it.

PS - about this poll ... I love the hotdogs at Yankees stadium (the way they "crunch" on the outside when you bite into them, mmm).

I've seen those sammiches on "Man vs. Food."  Welp, that about settles where I'll take my annual Cubs road trip next season.  Pittsburgh here I come!

Right on.  I figured they probably had multiple locations.  To get on Man Vs. Food, the grub has to be epic, and thos sammiches look to be some of the best.  I hope it lives up to my expectations like the Burritozilla did @ Iguana's in San Jose....I'm sure it will.

They will, also if you go here is another tip a about PNC Park. "PNC is one of the few ballparks in the country that lets you bring in outside food and water. Bottled drinks (no alcohol) must be in plastic, see-through bottles and fit into a 16"x16"x8" soft-sided bag or cooler. Children's juice boxes are also allowed. No glass, cans, hard-sided coolers or ice packs (freeze the juice boxes and use those instead!)."

As someone who's been to Nationals Park a few times, I wonder what you thought of the place.

The Margaritas at the Speedway are good after I add a little something...Lemon is a food, just in case you were wondering...and can't pass up the hot dogs, just doesn't seem right going to a sporting event and not paying 5 bucks for a hot dog with lots of ketchup.....

Bacon-wrapped hot dogs, sold occasionally in stadiums but moreso by pirate vendors after soccer games in California.
Salivating at the mere thought.
Laugh now.
But you'll all be ordering 'em at ballgames within 5-10 years.
