Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Filter Error 10/04 Photo Monday has a reputation and it lives up to it every f**king week! Hopefully this day improves. I need a vacation. I hope you all had fantastic football weekends unless your teams were playing mine. Good Job Falcons, and I saw that the Braves decided to play like they had to win since they did. So, Go Atlanta! Colts, you may want to find some effective defense, just a thought. Why, oh why, can't Bob Sanders stay healthy? Is there a such thing as playing too hard, or is he just more fragile than he appears...either way, they are missing him. And Jay Cutler...heh! I felt bad for dude. I hope some of you that play FF had the Giants defense.

Have a good day.

just a warning. my second paragraph in this will suck.

texans, texans, texans. i have gotten to the point now, where i, like kubiak, turn my back on the action when field goals are being attempted (by the way....sweet 59er against the colts, jobie or whatever your name is...). colts are 0-2 in the division. i couldn't be more pleased. i am having trouble trusting the texans though. we've allowed 24, 27, 27, and 24 points in our games so far. thank god cushing will be back this sunday. we had a good lead yesterday and the defense just put the brakes on and allowed the raiders to get too close for comfort. arian foster didn't come into the game until about 5 minutes left of the 2nd because he was in time out. folks around here support that decision through and through, but if we'd lost this one, i'm sure they'd be singing a different tune.

saturday night a double homicide ended in suicide in the parking lot at my work. the two girls killed were friends of my little sister. no drugs related, just a confrontation to the ex-boyfriend of the girl's sister (who was not even present). i f*cking hate guns. and charlton heston. and the guy on the radio who talks about the games available for kids at the gun show coming up. hate hate hate.

oy....shoulda typed that one last. anyway. last night i watched men who stare at goats (awesome) and starman which seemed kinda like an adult version of et, but it was ok because young. thin jeff bridges was naked for about ten minutes and some camera angles got so close, i almost saw his thingy. i think i actually like rotund jeff bridges more. seems more huggable. so we are continuing on our jeff bridges marathon. we've done the big lebowski, crazy heart, men who stare at goats, starman and since i was basically coerced into watching sci-fi, the next on the list is now the last unicorn, which is a cartoon, but jeff bridges did the voice of prince lear. he also showcases his singing in it with a very swishy song.

the jeff bridges thing made me have a pretty sweet dream though. i was driving a menage train with him and a friend. it would've been hotter if he didn't have the anatomy of a ken doll in it. all well. it was still pretty hot. ladies, he is surprisingly tender.

one last thing. i cooked a meatloaf this weekend that was borderline orgasmic. and it was a weightwatchers recipe. win-win.

I wrote a long rant then deleted it, i hope your week turns out better.
For a better Monday next time.

Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the Southland
I miss Alabamy once again
And I think its a sin, yes

Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

In Birmingham they love the governor
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

Sweet home Alabama
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so blue
And the governor's true
Sweet Home Alabama
Lordy
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea Montgomery's got the answer

Had a great weekend, both the Chiefs and the Huskers are still undefeated (they had bye weeks, but still...), I won my FF matchup because my opponent forgot to set his team (I'll take it, a wins a win), and I got to enjoy a great football game at Iowa State in a luxury suite (ISU beat Texas Tech 52-38 in a wild game).

This week is setting up to be pretty awesome, I'm getting ready to head to my favorite midwestern city - Chicago - for 5 days, possibly more.

Have a great week everyone!

Morning. The Texans are 3-1 (woo hoo) and alone on top of the AFC South (woo hoo again). Now that the good news is out of the way...
Longhorns, Aggies, Yankees, & Astros lose. Actually, the 'stros won, I'm just so used to saying it. And you will not hear me scream "wait till next year" for them cuz they'll always be just as good as their owner lets them be...mediocre.
Terrell "T.O." Owens became the NFL's second leading receiver with a 200 yard performance yesterday. I'll bet he thinks they won the game. lol
Lastly, the Dallas Cowboys did not win this week!! What?  A bye week? They were? They didn't play? Oh well, they still didn't win...Is that a little bitter?
Ashlie, Dirty Birds, Dirty Birds!! I hope your Monday ends better than it started.  Margaritas & Beakfast tacos are the order of the day. Leigh can ya hook us up? Please?

I can't wrap my brain around the second paragraph...just a confrontation to the ex-boyfriend of the girl's sister..
sooo...this was about a boy? I'm sorry for them, you, and your sister either way.

(and i kinda love guns, so I feel the need to say, I hate idiots with guns and am meh on charlton heston. is he still alive?)

men who stare at goats was better than expected and just reading and now preparing to type meatloaf made me nauseous.

So what do you do after 5 SACKS in less than a half? Empty backfield, right? Which of course led to 4 MORE. Mike Martz - ladies and gentlemen - Mike Martz! LMAO! One more 7-step drop and I'm sure the U.N. would have gotten involved. Cutler AND Collins had that "100-yard-stare" they talk about in Vietnam movies. I can't wait to read the injury report this week:

BEARS:
Cutler, QB, (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) - Questionable
Collins, QB (Battle Fatigue) - 10 Day R&R
Martz, Off. Co-ord. (U.N. Sanctions, Crimes Against Humanity) - OUT

Hiiiiii.

Speaking of Fantasy Football Ash, I didnt have Giants Defense, BUT I did have Jay Cutler!!  He got me -1.16 points!!  Oh well, I was going to lose regardless. I am now 0-4 in my league, I cant explain it. Chargers D got 26 points for someone in my league. Chargers killed it yesterday, they are the best team at home...and proabably the worst on the road, 8-8 doesnt usually get you into the Playoffs, time to figure sh*t out!
Anyone watching Boardwalk Empire on HBO? I love it. Anything Martin Scorsese and i'm there. I love the show so far, I had to bail on True Blood because it got too corny, and thats pretty hard to do about a show with vampires. I had to bail about 4 shows into season 3.  It is 8:45 and I am writing you from my house, I am usually at work by now but today I start my suspension. The funny thing is that on friday, I had to avoid an accident by driving into the other side of traffic because a Semi truck ran a red light. Even though it would not have been my fault, I probably would have been fired anyway. On a different note, the Padres let me AND San Diego down. They decided not to show up on the most important game of the year. Now I am sad again, goodbye.

What a weekend.  Bought some art at the art festival, which was PACKED.  Eye candy and all.  House for sale on Belgravia Court, which is one of the "streets" (it's really a walkway) the festival is on.  4 br, 3 baths, $395,000.  Beautiful home.  I think i was epically envious of the people who live there.  I used to live in an apartment along one of the streets of the art fair.  I miss the hood.

Bought a netbook yesterday but I can't get it to connect with my wireless network.  The technicians on the phone have to send out a live technician to help this afternoon.

Listened to some music this morning while cleaning the house before work. This is stuck in my head now and I thought it would be fun to share some Rancid with everyone:

If you wanna make the move then you better come in
It's just the ability to reason that wears so thin
Livin' and dyin' and the stories that are true
Secrets to a good life is knowin' when you're through

Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb

He's back in the hole where they got him livin'
Like a rat but he's smarter than that nine lives
Like a cat take him to the youth authority home
First thing you learn is that you got to make it
In this world alone

Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb

Now he's gotten out, he's gotten free he's gotta go
Gotta car 21 years old, he's runnin' from the
Bar his pager's beepin' he's got in deep in
Whatever he can move on in you know that kid's a creepin'

Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac
The boy's a time bomb, the boy's a time bomb

In tears come from the razor that's been tattooed below
His eye his mother cries, she knows that he is strong enough
To die he's rollin' in the Cadillac, it's midnight sunroof is down
Three shots rung out the herd's deal, the new King is crowned

Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb

Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Black coat, white shoes, black hat, Cadillac, yeah
The boy's a time bomb
Oh time bomb

Man what an awesome freaking weekend. Relaxing as hell. Some of my teams Lost, some Won.

Started a new training regimen this week so my body will ache lots.

Lots of work this week I must stay focused. So something to help me out.

You get up every morning
From your alarm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I'll be...
Taking care of business, every day
Taking care of business ,every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business. and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows

People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day

And I'll be...
Taking care of business, every day
Taking care of business, every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime

1, 2, 3, 4, And we be...
Taking care of business every day
Taking care of business every way
I've been taking care of business, it's all mine
Taking care of business and working overtime
Beans...

And I think its a sin, yes

Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

In Birmingham they love the governor
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

Sweet home Alabama
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so blue
And the governor's true
Sweet Home Alabama
Lordy
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea Montgomery's got the answer

not a day goes by this song isnt mentioned ,in some way some form..I LOVE tht ,,especilly cause the co writer,(my "cuz" ed king)  is from southern cali!!:)......happy monday everyone... we have the choice of hapiness..choose happy......not always an easy decision ,so much diversity,,,choose wisely!!  sending prayers to those in need,,,,,,

That's Cutler for you; you're never too sure what you're going to get with him. Sometimes he reads the whole field and other times (like last night), he has tunnel vision and focusses on one receiver. Beyond that, could he not at least sensed the pressure coming  before it got there? ( And as others have said, this is partly Martz's fault for not adapting the game plan to what was going on out there)

Good monday morning bitches!
*Big ups first and foremost to the Denver Broncos and CU Buffaloes for big wins this weekend, and to Kyle Orton and the entire Broncos offensive line for being cool at the bar last night.
*The MLB playoffs are set, and even though my team quit 2 weeks ago, I'm still excited for October baseball.
*Eastbound and Down is officially back after last night's episode.  I will be watching last night's episode again, probably 4-7 more times
*The Avs start up on Thursday (holla!) and I have a game of my own that night so I will not be in attendance, and I'm not too thrilled about that
*Boo to Europe for winning the Ryder Cup
to an all around great day and night of college football on Saturday
* to me for not paying attention to anything (well almost anything) but sports all weekend

That's all I have for now..

3Oh!3 - Still Around

Go ahead and burn it down
I'm drunk and so is everyone else
In this devil town
They wont let me turn around
To get one last look at my baby

While she's still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around

Go ahead and build it up again
This cities just cemeteries enhanced
Forgotten men
My only hope's to see you
And even if I never do

While she's still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around

And I know what you're thinking
That won't stop this drinking
It's the least I can do
'Cause this life is anything but certain
When they close the final curtain
You'll get a glimpse of the truth

Cause you're still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around,
While she's still around

Go ahead and burn it down
I'm drunk and so is everyone else
In this devil town

Good afternoon, bitches.

Home from work early, which is always cool (except that it usually means I made no money, and today is no exception).  However, it's good because I was getting REALLY sick of being the token "not married, no kids" girl today.  All day I keep hearing about my friends' and coworkers' husbands/weddings/babies/commonwealth marriages since they've been together since 1st grade.  Ugh.  I just can't relate.
A synopsis of most of my conversations today:

Coworker 1:  I'm so tired ... Jacob (her baby) kept me up all night, he's so cranky all the time.  He was screaming and crying, then he threw up in my hair.  I didn't get to sleep until 4am.
Coworker 2:  I'm having the same problems with Christina (her baby).  Only she's constantly hungry, my nipples are so sore, you wouldn't believe it!
Me:  Yeah.  I bought some cute tanks at Target.

Happy Monday Everybodeee!

Does anybody else need a weekend to recuperate from their weekend?

Daughter had football last Friday night with Band, then a parade in Los Angeles at the fairgrounds on Saturday.  We left about 8AM, and returned about 8PM.   First time parade marching for my daughter (who is still in 8th grade, participating with the HS, with about 8 other middle schooler's.)    Weather was nice, but still warm for them marching in uniforms that are somewhere about 23 years old.  (My wife attended that school, and they got those uniforms her senior year.)

But the kids had fun, having been able to enjoy the fair for a few hours before needing to return to the bus.

All in all, good weekend, but, man, I need a nap.

I have no rule, either way on that.  If you look at my response, I only said I hope they do well, I didn't say I hoped they win.

On these games, I'll cheer the great plays, no matter which side makes them.   If any of you'se out there want me to cheer for your team to actually win... just a side note here, I can be bribed.

(I actually just thought this...Giants won, knocking Padres out of the championship, and Atlanta won, knocking us out of the wild card chance.    I need to have some serious bribes here so I'm not rooting for an alien invasion force abducting both teams.)

Yes, but DON'T want them to do well! I would like for you to want them to fail. Thanks. Also, the getting knocked out of the wild card thing was indirect unlike the other situation which involved direct ass spankings, I presume.

(and being that this is only about Atlanta for me, and I no longer really enjoy baseball games unless I'm there, this is about all the support I can offer my own team, and i'm done. LOL)

Hello out there in FanIQ Land!  I'm nearly finished with a murderous stretch of working 6 days in a row between my 2 jobs.  I started Thursday night at the mall, worked both jobs Friday and Saturday, worked at the hospital yesterday and today, and work both jobs tomorrow before going to karaoke to unwind, and I'm gonna need it!  I had a patient today who made me say to myself "I hope IF I live this long, I'm still in such good shape."  He told the nurse when she said he'd be going for x-rays, "don't bring me one of those big beds, I want a wheelchair!"  The man is 95 years old, walks with a cane but still pretty damn spry, and he's sharp as a tack.  I've been going nuts with both jobs, and I'm trying to create a profile on Monster.com and try to find a job so I can get the hell out of dodge before the hospital goes completely bonkers in January with the closing of the hospital up the street.  I can't wait for Thursday night and the start of a brand new era of hockey in Pittsburgh!  Tomorrow night is the last week for the karaoke contest, and I need to figure out how the hell to win this time.

That's like going to Iowa for seafood.  You have to go to Chicago for a Chicago dog, there's no other way.

At least Jar Jar was limited in the 2nd movie.  {shudder]    And I didn't mind Anakin in Clones, except for the sappy love story line.  We all knew it was gonna happen, but that could have been done better.  Loved Kenobi's investigation side of the movie, with the battle with Jango.

I agree that the love story was sappy, and IDK what George Lucas was thinking with Jar Jar.  I just hate watching that cute little boy from The Phantom Menace turn into a d**khead in Revenge of the Sith.  I'll probably continue my movie marathon this weekend.  I got off track yesterday with my dvr stuff.
