This is Nellie's Neighbor from 1987, well I am still in the same house, she however moved.. she's a grown-up now, and drives a car.

Anyway, it was October 31st, 1987 I was sitting in my recliner waiting for the kids to come to the door, when all of a sudden the door bell rang.  I was shocked, cause who would be at my door?  It was Schmorty, she was decked out in a can of soup.  No for reals.  I heard the story after about how her and her dad spent hours making a large piece of cardboard into a Campbell Soup can.  complete with the label and everything.  Her dad is amazing.  She was also with her brothers who were a pair of dice.  Obviously they had a lot of cardboard in their house in 1987.. must have gotten a new fridge.

I wish that I had a picture of that day. Damn 1987.

Duh......that would have to be the twin Oompa Loompas about 2 years ago. The dad came as Mr. Willy Wonka and the mom was dressed as Violet------------when she turned into a blueberry.

Tough call, but one year I opened the door to this little girl (probably around 6 or 7) who was dressed in a homemade costume to look like Tippi Hedren in "The Birds".  The old-fashioned dress, same hairstyle, and lots of fake crows all over her made to look like they were attacking.
I gave her TWO candy bars for awesomeness, then handed one to her mother for her awesomeness, as well.

I live in a neighborhood with a bunch of "Fuddy Duddy's" for parents, all I ever see is the typically Dracula, Transformer, Cindarella, ect. Damn these boring parents!

It's usually around 20F by the time Hallowe'en rolls around so costumes have to be creative and warm, meaning we see a lot of polar bears, pumpkins, dinosaurs, etc.

When I lived in a warmer climate, I attended an adult party once and a group of people came dressed as "the results on an intimate encounter".  That's all I can say without having to censor myself, but I'm sure you can figure it out.................

There is only one good thing about Halloween and it's not the costumes.

I'm never home on Halloween to hand out candy, but I do remember a group of young ladies wearing nothing but body paint / latex at this party I was at

aww I beg to differ - I think there are LOADS of great things about Halloween...and the costumes are one of them. I love watching all the little kids getting to play dress-up. I remember how excited I used to get, being able to be the ONE thing I wanted to be back when I was little...for just one day - just a few hours. It brings me joy, and I'm not even really a kid person lol.

I love the candy (of course)
The scary movie nights
Being able to make costumes for my munchkin, with her help
Carving pumpkins
Pumpkin seeds
The smell of fall in the air (and pumpkin insides cooking from the candles)

...I could go on and on
