Stupidity of the Week 29/10 (Edited 10/29/10 12:12AM by eLa_MAe_O)

it happens to everyone, no matter how hard we try to avoid it, we're exposed to.... stupidity.  it's our own, a friends or a randoms on the street.  we just can't avoid it, so here's the place to share the stupidity, since 9 times out of 10 it's just down right halarious.
this week, my one friend was arguing that europe was in the USA and i herd someone on the street say she was gonna "sh*t a gun" she was so mad.
so what's some of the stupider things you've been exposed to this week?

p.s i'm gonna try to do this once a week, but i may not.  and if it's not a hit ill probs stop...  :)

I had my own stupidity this afternoon, right before leaving work.    I was filling out prices for items I was dropping off for a location, and I had 1 line item with 10 each on it.   I filled out the unit price, and then,(Lord it was a long day, my mind just stopped working for a second...)  I grabbed the calculator to multiply it out  ($10.50 x 10 )

That's right.  Multiply anything by 10, and all you do is move the decimal over to the right one place.  $10.50 becomes $105.00.    It hit me just as I hit the equals button.

Theres NO WAY that your friend thought that europe was in the USA, there just no way. You would have to be mentally retarded not to know that.

(My apologies if your friend is mentally retarded)

I recall at least 10 years ago on Regis and Kelly - Regis phoned a home viewer,he wanted her to name the Motion Picture that Steven Spielberg directed about UFOs,aliens, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Teri Garr around 1977?
Her response was ""'Return of the Aliens"", (the audience laughed and Regis wasincredibly flabbergasted).

Well not exactly. Asia is a contenent and so is Eroupe, if you put them together its Eurasia or some sht, but what does that have to do with europe being in the US?   Its not even close to the US.

I work for a GOVERNMENT Liquor Store, and as such we can accept empties for refund of Canadian produced products.  Anything from elsewhere is labeled "import" and we have a limit of 2 doz per day.  The recycling depot accepts unlimited amounts of the import empties.  A lady comes in the door yesterday with a shopping cart overflowing with boxes of  bottles, both import and local, so we stop her AT THE DOOR and tell her we can only accept two dozen of the import bottles per day.  She says, "oh, okay" and goes out again.  We go back to work, and are delivering an order when we hear the bell ding at the recycling window, at the other end of the store.  It's the same lady.  She has removed all of the local bottles from her shopping cart and now has nothing BUT import bottles.

Last 4th of July I read an article that claimed something like 50% of the nation's high-schoolers can't identify who America fought in the War of Independence/Revolutionary War. So later that afternoon, at our family barbecue, I asked my niece and nephew, 15 and 16 years old, that question. Stump City. Eventually the niece said, "China?"
