Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. Ummm Peyton...that's enough. Pull their sh*t together. I know it's defense that's the major problem, but still. You may need to overcompensate. I'm tired. That "extra" hour didn't do sh*t for me.

Morning Swash Bucklers!

Kings won! First place! Whoo Whoo! They haven't lost a game at home...........and on Saturday they all sported mullet wigs in the warm up skate------------------all this making me a very "happy" fan. You fookers better hop on the bandwagon now.

Suppose to get a new student today. He was not allowed back in to his former school-----------------.

It's raining and that better stop right now...............or at least take a break till after the kiddos go home today. Rainy days=only a 30 minute break from students=better be careful of the liquid intake or I'm in trouble.

Zombies are the best. Is there anything better (besides Glee and House) on television? No sir and mam there is NOT. Nothing beats watching people smear zombie pieces, goo, junk all over themselves.

Hope you all have pleasant days! Remember Veterans Day is Thursday--------------------buy a Veteran a beer or cup of coffee!

Thank you becky for turning me onto The Walking Dead.  Had I known it was created by Frank Darabont ( The genius behind The Green Mile and Shawshank Rememption) I would have checked it out sooner. I love that it is on AMC so it can be a lot more graphic and even cuss, almost like it was on HBO, but with commericals.

I'd like to thank the Raiders for beating the Chiefs yesterday, now the Chargers are back in the race. F*ck you if you dont like Philip Rivers, the guy is a beast and is playing without Vincent Jackson, Malcolm Floyd and Antonio Gates. He is on pace to break the single season passing yards record.

I just bought Adam Corolas book "In 50 years we'll all be chicks". He talks about the gradual puss*facation of America, So far hes making a lot of sense. I would recommend that you buy this book. Its an excellent read.

I went to the 99 cents only store the other day, I caught myself having a kenne moment, I was embarrassed to be there and not because they didnt sell cashmere sweaters either. Then I thought, "suck it up d*ckhead, just because you are too stupid to save money like these people, only makes YOu look like the assh*le. They acutally have some really great deals in that place, maybe someday I will go back.

Its just another manic monday.  Damn.

"DON'T PUSH ME 'CAUSE I'M CLOSE TO THA EDGE, I'M TRY-ING NOT TO LOSE MY HEAD! (hu, hu, hu, hu) The preceding was not an old school flashback as much as my overview of football this week.  UofH, Texas, and the Texans all get spanked this weekend. Even the Lions let the Jets off the hook. Thank goodness for hot coffee, the Eagles, the Browns, and the 7-0  LA Lakers.
OK, now let's get to business. Shout outs to Da Raiders, dem Dirty Birds, Colt McCoy,and  Mike Vick, Big-ups goes to the QB for the Vikings (his name escapes me at this time, but he threw for a career best 466 yds), and The Houston Rockets (you see, capital letters and everything) on picking up their first win of the young season. Boy, too many WTFs to mention, but I'll go till I get tired. Gary Kubiak, do like Jim Zorn did last year. You can coach, but don't run the offense, defense, or special teams. Jerry Jones, as bad as things are in Big D, I find it very hard to feel sympathy. And everybody who voted for Britol Palin instead of Rick Fox on DWTS last week.  I'm pretty upset still, so I'm gonna go now and abuse a bacon sandwich...Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to vent. Good days to all, and we can salvage this week if the Bengals can somehow beat the Steelers tonight (not gonna happen).
P.S. As a Public Service, In the event that both Texas pro football coaches lose their jobs by season's end, this is my contribution to keep them both working. I'm writing an Off-Broadway play called "Laurel & Hardy do Football"... Wade and Gary, I hope you can act!!

i love jessica rabbit. thank you for the reminder.

i'm tired of bitching. that's bitching right there, eh? i feel like i did that a lot this weekend, and it's only monday, so i don't have much to report. except that my friend borrowed my zebra running tights last night and well. men in tights is awesome:

touching my inner irish this morning
every dog has its day - flogging molly
Well I've drunk to drown, on every ocean I've been
Lake Tanganyika, where the crocodiles swim
Halifax, Nova Scotia to Van Diemen's land
Well I drank with the Sultan, down the Suez Canal

Cause Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too, just to be there with you

Well there was old Jerry Rooney, who was mad as a mule
Spillblood Maloney had a head like one too
That night on the bridge, with my shovel in hand
Well he threatened to kill me, for sure he picked the wrong man

Cause Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too, just to be there with you

Well there was mutiny in Lagos, aboard the mean ship Skondi
Ten or twelve days in prison, till the bastards set me free
McCloskey you're free

Cause Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too, just to be there with you

Now I love the sea and she wants me back
So I leave this ol' harbor, with the wind at my back
Goodbye mother Theresa, I hope the kids settle down
I must head for the Chinas, pray to God I don't drown

For Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too

Cause Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too, just to be there with you
I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way...

Mornin' Q'Lets!
OK So other than my DQ, I'm kinda over making some of my "regular" polls. I don't think people are into "new movie releases" one anymore, I keep forgetting the "Primetime" one, and I'm really not feeling the recipe one every week. Maybe occasionally but not every week. I dunno. I'm in a poll funk.

Yesterday my happy ass woke up at 8:30 because of the time change. I got up and started a roast in the crock pot. Then I figured while I was up, I should do some other stuff - so I did a load of laundry, made a batch of triple chocolate chip cookies (just a little batch though; I think there were 10...the dough is in a bucket I bought for a school fundraiser), and a few other things. All before 10:00.

I need a new blender.

I'm a huge Blink fan. Shush.
I got no regret right now (I'm feelin this)
The air is so cold and low (I'm feelin this)
Let me go in her room (I'm feelin this)
I wanna take off her clothes (I'm feelin this)
Show me the way to the bed (I'm feelin this)
Show me the way you move (I'm feelin this)
F**k it it's such a blur (I'm feelin this)
I love all the things you do (I'm feelin this)

Fate fell short this time
Your smile fades in the summer
Place your hand in mine
I'll leave when I wanna

Where do we go from here
Turn all the lights down low
Smiling from ear to ear (I'm feelin this)
Our breathing has got to loud (I'm feelin this)
Show me the bedroom floor (I'm feelin this)
Show me the bathroom mirror (I'm feelin this)
We're taking this way too slow (I'm feelin this)
Take me away from here (I'm feelin this)

Fate fell short this time
Your smile fades in the summer
Place your hand in mine
I'll leave when I wanna

X2

This place was never the same again
After you came and went
How can you say you meant anything different
To anyone standing alone
On the street with a cigarette
On the first night we met

Look to the past
And remember and smile
And maybe tonight
I can breathe for a while
I'm not in the scene
I think I'm fallin' asleep
But then all that it means is
I'll always be dreaming of you

Fate fell short this time
Your smile fades in the summer
Place your hand in mine
I'll leave when I wanna

X5

Are we alone, do you feel it?
So lost and disillusioned

Good Morning..

Yep, I had an awesome weekend.   the things I learned about myself .. WOW would amaze just about anyone here...
My BF me... Yep.. He told me sometime last week, keeps telling and showing me everyday. Except this morning .

My Daughter was in Chicago this weekend... I am a little upset that I didn't get to go with.. Could have met some people there... d*mm*t all to hell... oh well, maybe next time... she got to stay right downtown... In a very beautiful and huge hotel... I can't wait to see the pictures.

Son worked all weekend.. Had a date and I had to go with him to help pick up some bath and body for her. He got Candy Apple scent. I hope she liked it.. wait.. maybe I don't ..lol

Suppose to be in the 60's here this week.. heat wave. Pull out the shorts once again. Only for it to be cold and snowy this weekend.
I hate fall.....

Have an awesome day... hopefully a great week...

Good Morning Ankur, Ms. Jen, Ash, Sid, Lainey, Becky, Rogs, Dean, Tori, Ela, Dee, Chris, Leigh, Nikki and Jess   Special greetings for being here early. I had my last birthday celebration las Saturday, one of the Six Pack (that's how we call orselves) was in Barcelona, so we were waiting for her, went out for dinner, we had a great time, and I confirmed what I have always known, I'm a terrible, terrible drinker, can you believe that I had just one margarita and when I got up I felt like if there was an earthquake? Oh, wait, I went to another reunion in the afternoon and I had two "palomitas" (grapefruit soda, tequila, salt & lemon) but I was ok at that time, anyway, when I got home I fell asleep right away, woke up past 10am on Sunday, In the afternoon we had a B-day party for my baby nephew, he's so adorable, but he hates me, he doesn't want me to hug him, and I think is OK, so his parents don't ask me to babysit for them, just wanted to wish you all a happy Monday, have fun! two words: mexican jonas brothers. The backstreet boys and new kids on the block are touring together. The comedy gods are clearly pleased and have blessed us with this perfect storm of... of... of... (I'm speechless). Hopefully markie-mark and / or the funky bunch will make a few walk on appearances during this travelling sideshow of musical used diapers.

Good late morning/early afternoon f*ck sticks!!
I've got the most awesome, funny story to tell.
Ok..

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they called 'Gitche Gumee'.
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty,
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early.

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin.
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
With a crew and good captain well seasoned.
Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland.
And later that night when the ship's bell rang
Could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?

The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing.
And every man knew, as the captain did too,
T'was the witch of November come stealin'.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashin'.
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind.

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck sayin'
"Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya."
At seven P.M. a main hatchway caved in. He said
"Fellas, it's been good t'know ya."
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril.
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her.
They might have split up or they might have capsized;
They may have broke deep and took water.
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion.
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams;
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.
And farther below, Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her,
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the Gales of November remembered.

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral.
The church bell chimed till it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down

Superior, they said, never gives up her dead

I watched the first 15 minutes of episode 2 and they dropped the SH bomb and the N bomb like 11 times.  I didn't know they could do that on AMC.    I stopped watching ... only because I don't wanna pick it up on the second episode.  I have to catch up, eventually.

Anyway, good afternoon, bitches.

So this loser actually went out (like for real, not my usual trip to Dunkin' for coffee or trip from the cozy respite called my bed, to the sunny locale of my couch) last weekend to NYC with a half dozen bois for my friend's birthday.  Besides the whole walking approximately 11-teen miles ... in heels ... and being out until 5am, it was a pretty damn good time.  Highlights to follow:

-  Cuban mom & pop deli/restaurant, where I ate 2-4 empanadas.  Don't ask how many, I was stealing from others since there was some confusion as to whether they had chicken/beef/pork/or cheese (or any combination of them) available.  I also loved the "family-style" feel.  And by "family-style" I mean that when my friend asked the 97 months pregnant waitress which of his  empanadas was cheese and which was pork, she said, "try them, you'll figure it out" and walked away.

-  First stop after the food-fest, a bar called Barracuda.  Walked in ... took three steps, walked out.  We only took three steps because that was literally all we COULD take.  Wall to mother effin' wall.  I like my personal space to an extent, and I understand that a packed bar is not a good place for that, but if I can see a complete strangers' nose hair (odd for a gay man, too), I need to leave.

-  Next stop was ... brace yourselves ... a gay cowboy bar.  We passed it on the way to Barracuda and my dumb ass, fascinated, shouted out in the middle of the sidewalk how we HAD to go in to see the gay cowboys (editor's note:  I do not mean the team from Dallas, despite their record)!  I was picturing, in my head, gay bois running around in assless chaps, with cowboy hats and spurs, all Coyote Ugly-ing it up on the bar, and it was a fabulous visual.    It was NOT like that.  It was mostly middle-aged men (and a few were only middle-aged if they live to 146) fawning over the 2 dancers and doing very inappropriate and creepy (like "get a bouncer to walk you to your car after your shift" kinda creepy) things.

-  Then we went to a couple other bars that I don't really remember the names of, but they were fun with few highlights except for the gayest human being I've ever seen (and for me, that's saying a LOT) dancing and lip-synching to Lady Gaga AND (cringe) Justin(e) Bieber.  Full video choreography.  And there was no dance floor at these fine establishments.  And I thought I'D be the most embarrassing part of the night.

-  Ended at the infamous Stonewall Inn (for those who don't know, Google ... for those who don't know and don't care, to hell with you) where I may or may not have danced on a speaker, got whisked away by some random stranger-danger homo to merengue with him, and pulled the token chubby f*g-hag out of her seat and forced her to dance with me (caught up in the moment ... I've BEEN that chubby girl at the middle-school dances, leaning on the wall, bobbing her head, pretending I was "taking a breather" when in reality, I had no one to dance with ... *sigh* ... I hold a special place in my ice cold heart for them).

-  Got home around 5am after seeing some outstandingly interesting folks on the train, and slept most of Sunday away.  I now realize, this is no longer the life for me.  And this time, I did all of this sober.

Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

Ya know, I've done the looking for directions to Hawaii from the continental US before, never from San Diego though.  I wonder why the directions always go through Seattle.  (Just checked, San Diego directions go through Seattle as well.)  At first, I thought that, like some transoceanic journeys, like Los Angeles to Tokyo, heading due west incurs a farther distance than going northwest, due to the shape of the earth.

But San Diego to Honolulu is about 2560 miles.   You'd save about 1000 miles just heading here to San Diego and kayaking from here.  (Houston to San Diego 1471.65 miles + 2560miles = 4031 miles.)

Lunch at the Irish Rover today, fish and chips of course.  Nothin' like stirrin' it up with Tadgh at the bar over a fish drowned in malt vinegar.  If only  I could've had some Smithwicks without going back to work drunk.

And now....The Irish Rover

On the 4th of July 18 hundred and 6
We set sail from the sweet cove of Cork
We were sailing away with a cargo of bricks
For the grand city hall in New York
"Twas a wonderful craft, she was rigged 'fore and aft
And, oh, how the wild winds drove her
She got several blasts, she had 27 masts
And we called her the Irish Rover.

We had one million bales of the best Sligo rags
We had two million barrels of stones
We had three million sides of old blind horses hides
We had four million barrels of bones
We had five million hogs, we had six million dogs
Seven million barrels of porter
We had eight million bales of old nanny goats tails
In the hold of the Irish Rover

There was old Mickey Coote who played hard on his flute
When the ladies lined up for his set
He was tootin' with skill for each sparkling quadrille
Though the dancers were fluther'd and bet
With his sparse witty talk, he was cock of the walk
As he rolled the dames under and over
They all knew at a glance when he took up his stance
And he sailed in the Irish Rover

There was Barney McGee from the banks of the Lee
There was Hogan from county Tyrone
There was Jimmy McGurk who was scared stiff of work
And a man from Westmeath called Malone
There was Slugger O'Toole who was drunk as a rule
And fighting Bill Tracy from Dover
And your man Mick McCann from the banks of the Bann
Was the skipper of the Irish Rover

We had sailed seven years when the measels broke out
And the ship lost it's way in a fog
And that whale of the crew was reduced down to two
Just meself and the captain's old dog
Then the ship struck a rock, Oh Lord what a shock
The bulkhead was turned right over
Turned nine times around, and the old dog was drowned
I'm the last of the Irish Rover.

Hello out there in FanIQ Land!  This is national transport appreciation week, so be nice to me!  Anywho, not much to say except I get free food all week, whether it be pizza, pot luck, snacks and junk food, or even ice cream.  We also have gift baskets to raffle off.  It's amazing to see the nurses and such appreciating the fact that we keep the hospital running.  But next Monday it'll be right back to "damn transport takes forever, you guys are so slow."  Ah shyaaaat aaap!  Tomorrow I get to work 2 jobs and then do karaoke.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have a MNF game to get back to.

BK over and out!

I work all week, maxed out on the hours I am alllowed to work, and only have remembrance day off.  Our staff party is Saturday night, and I have nowhere for my kids to go, one works until 10pm then expects a ride home.  The other expects that I will be home to keep her company because she doesn't like it when it's dark.  My hubby would like to go to the party with me, but can't actually commit to it, because his boss is a pu**y who can't actually give anyone a day/night off - it might get busy.  I think I want to be a single non-mother again................

I think your taking a shot at me lol   how rude !

Hell i couldn't even pass for a "bad boy" in a B movie , im more the quiet guy in the background who wants no trouble and never says a whole lot. I would rather avoid the attention when ever possible.  So once again you have me dead to rights !

Janet your always a pleasure and i hope your night went extremely well !

Well when the best you've got for past "sins" is jaywalking, you leave me little choice.  Gimme something a little juicier than THAT.  Work with me here.

Oh, and likewise, Sid.

sooo....serial killer, or eventual mass murderer. Sure somewhere there is a lockbox buried full of disfigured doll heads. Got it.

Lleigh, you seriously just made my week.  I soooo needed this after my weekend!  BTW, anyone want to buy a couple of kids?

I don't want to make like Kyle Busch and whine, so I won't fill you all in, just trust me that it SUCKED!!!!

Tell your kids I said SUCK IT UP! ....and single non-mother was a beautiful 28 years........i miss that. Thanks for the reminder Debi. LOL

i just google-mapped walking directions to kill my boredom. thought hawaii would be nice.

google thinks my best route would be to traverse allllll the way up to the upper left of the country and then make my way back down on water.

i enjoyed this spurp in new mexico:

and again in idaho:

but my favorite part was step #560:

5,087miles, 68 days and 18 hours. all in all, it was a pretty decent imaginary trip.

Christi I miss you and the 3 other profiles you've made in the last few months  I gave your post a "smart" just for old times sake.
