Favorite North American Skyline (Edited 10/18/11 06:57PM by Jess)
I've been fascinated by skylines since I was a kid.  There's something about all the big buildings that I really love.  I've been fortunate enough to see quite a few of them in person(and have a few adult beverages atop some of the highest structures in the world - favorite was drinking Molson Ice in the CN Tower).  Some of my favorite skylines include Toronto, San Francisco, NYC, and Seattle.  But my favorite is also my homer pick, Chicago.

What is your favorite?

Here's a link that shows some of what are considered the best skylines in North America.

Love KL's skyline as well, but if we're going international, it'd be tough to beat Hong Kong and Sydney.

Not enough "others" - but of those to which I've been (I've been to quite a few, besides the East Coast)...

5 - Portland, OR (mainly because of Mt. Hood)

4 - San Francisco, CA

3 - Orlando, FL

2 - San Diego, CA

1 - Seattle, WA  of course

Atlanta would be #6...maybe overtaking Portland if Mt. Hood ever blows and effs up the skyline

The city I live in has a well below average skyline.  Very unimpressive for the 10th most populous city in the USA.  A main reason for the lack of towers more than 18 or 20 floors is that the downtown area is pretty much right under final approach to San Jose International Airport.  It's also much larger than most cities by area.  Almost 180,000 square miles.  The city does seem to have an inferiority complex towards their lesser populated but much more well known neighbor 45 miles north...  San Francisco.

This shot is looking east towards the Diablo range.  The summit of Mt. Hamilton reaches nearly 4,200'.  Usually once each winter it gets a snow dusting that lasts two or three days.  No snow has reached the valley floor in 35 years.
