I'm not greatly affected by anyone's death often especially not celebrities, but the saddest for me were probably Tupac, Aaliyah, and Heath Ledger mainly because they were so young.

I would be horrified by ALL of my fave actors/actresses including...uhh...i dont wanna say because it feels jinxy. And I would probably fall into a  some sort of depression if ANY of my athletes died.

I think any star player on one of my favorite teams would bother me the most.

1 - I'd have to go with Heath Ledger or Brittany Murphy. Mainly, I think it's because I loved both of them so much before they died and I've seen everything they were in (they were two people I would watch in anything, just because they were in it). They were so young and so talented.

2 - For some reason, I think the death of John Goodman is going to hit me hard. I love him.

1. Princess Diana. i guess since she was from my generation, and close to my age...

2. I agree with Jess about John Goodman.

I didn't know Leslie Nielsen died! I love his movies, actually some of them are in my DVD collection. About the questions, well I always fell sorry when somebody dies, but it's more like a feeling of solidarity with their families and friends, since they are not close to me, all I can say is May they rest in peace. Maybe I'd feel sad if some of my favorite singers died. RIP Leslie Nielsen.

1.  I don't know about touched, but Michael Jackson was probably the most shocking because I grew up listening to alot of his music.

2. The current celebrity of today I would have to go with Robert DeNiro.

Aaliyah and Michael Jackson's death touched me. Aaliyah for all of her untapped talent at such a young age and for Michael for such a lonely life he led. I think the passing of Muhammad Ali and Stevie Wonder will hit me hard when that day comes. Muhammad Ali has done more for sports and African Americans that he doesnt get credit for. Thanks to him we have no more military draft, athletes now make the money they do in sports and also bless this man for bringing those fine beatiful bodacious daughters of his into the world

River Phoenix, Heath Ledger, and Brittany Murphy, probably affected me the most.  Patrick Swayze was tough to swallow, but it was a little easier knowing that he still smoked till he died.  OMG I forgot John Ritter.  I BAWLED!

Chevy Chase, Harrison Ford, Michael J Fox...

Usually the passing of celebrities does not affect me much. The weird thing is that although I was never a big fan of Michael Jackson - his passing was kind of sad to me. John Ritter's unexpected passing was a bit of a shock also. I never know how anyone's passing - celebrity or not will affect me until it happens.

Deaths of strangers dont bother me.
#15 | 1234 days ago

Patrick Swayze, John Ritter and Brittany Murphy bothered me the most - I actually read the obituaries, tributes, watched old movies (Roadhouse yesterday) and mourned them.
Oh and Phil Hartman - that was a heartbreaker, but I think mainly because he was the voice in so many of my kids' cartoons at the time.

I'm sad about Leslie Nielsen, but not devastated.

I'm with Jess et al about John Goodman.  I have loved him in everything he's done I think.  I can think of many many more celebraties whose deaths will devastate me, but as with Ash, I just don't want to mention.  Seems wrong somehow.

I'm with Violet on this. I feel for their families because I know how it feels to lose someone you love. Mostly though I feel sadness when another one of my dad's favorites dies. I think it's because it is another something that has happened  without him being here.............I'm weird that way I guess. Probably why I will be sad when Clint Eastwood goes.

The ones I grew up watching in the movies or listening to on the radio...John Lennon's bothered me alot, it seemed so senseless. Patrick Swayze's, he will forever live on in Dirty Dancing & Roadhouse, but also Next of Kin. Eastwood, Redford, Jones, Poitier...those are the guys I grew up watching.

Rodney Dangerfield. Man, that guy always made me laugh.

Right now, it would probably be Michael J. Fox. I always think of him as a Keaton or you know, Teen Wolf, so he's way too young to go.

First Sox game I ever went to was the day after Lyman Bostock was killed. I was only 7 but I remember it clearly. He was killed in Gary, IN the night before.

Patrick Swayze's death was pretty sad...
#34 | 1234 days ago

I was with a few friends in a pub watching Monday Night Football, New England vs Miami, when they announced that John Lennon was shot. His death was a shocker. Belushi dying was another. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix died with a ton music left in them.

James Taylor, Capton, and B.B. King are only a few whose passing will be sad to see for me.

One sports figure i have to mention is Mark'the Bird'Fidrych b.WorcesterMA-(Detroit Tigers,1976 AL Rookie of the Year),died of a freak accident - that REALLY STUNNED me when I saw the caption during a ballgame (1954-2009), also hard to believe John Lennon was killed almost 30 years ago.

Eric Clapton,James Taylor,Michael Douglas or any young athlete or celebrity would be sad.

#38 | 1234 days ago

I really don't get touched when movie stars or music artists die, I might watch a movie that I enjoyed of theirs or listen to their music, but never really touched. Only person I can think of that did really get to me was Derrick Thomas. Childhood hero, and then the fact that he died in a way that was mostly his own fault (by reports anyway), and still in his playing days - it was the first time where I realized the other side to my heroes, that they can be just as careless and stupid sometimes as the rest of us.

I think they're all kinda sad, but I am in a dead pool every year so it doesn't really bother me that much. We don't really know them. We only have a connection to their public personas. I think it would be a lot worse if we saw the pain and grief of their loved ones. We don't. People need to grieve privately, I get it.

Chris Farley's death was sad as well...
#42 | 1234 days ago

I was sad when Tupac died, because he was a lyrical genius.

Like Diablorian added...Chris Farley.

We lost the best stand up comedian in George Carlin

Really there are a lot more but, these three were absolutely fantastic at what they did.

"Laughing" very appropriate.. A memory that sticks in my mind about Candy was when he was part-owner of the Toronto Argonauts(CFL) with Wayne Gretzgy I believe..he was at the game on the sidelines waving to the crowd grinning from ear to ear. My all-time fav movie of his is Planes Trains and Automobiles. Neilson is a Canuck too..miss them both.

Bob Hope loved watching him entertain the men and woman in the armed forces and watching his comedies with my dad!

After the past year or two I would really think hearing of anyone losing a loved one, a friend or a pet would make me feel bad.
