What should I do?
I'm in need of some advice... Tomorrow night is the Nuggets/Timberwolves game.  The last one of the season here... Plans have been changing and the original plan of me going with friends has been changed to having to haul along my 2 kids.  The seats that I would get or want will be anywhere from 25-40 a piece.  So with parking, snacks and tickets it will be over 100.00.

Do I just suck it up and spend that to go?  or Skip it all together?

Babysitters are not an option cause we have a birthday party to go to in the afternoon, so there is no time to dispense the boys somewhere before the game.

Depends, I'd say pony up the ducketts and take the children, the whole while letting the kids know they will be eating pinto beans and cornbread for a few weeks in order to take everyone. But that's just me, I like pinto beans, cornbread, and basketball. Good luck.

lol.. wellllll  one of them likes the Nuggets but gets bored at the games.. the other ones hates them and doesn't like the Timberwolves... he's a Celtics Fan.  So they don't really want to go.. that and we'll be spending the money next month to go see the Celtics with another 2 people...

I say leave the kids at the birthday party.      Tell them you thought it was also going to be a sleep-over.  If that doesn't work just take them with you.

1. Shell out the cash, those kids have had to put up with you this long love their mom that's the least you can do for them.
2. Pay extra for the babysitter to come pick them up when you are leaving the birthday party.
3. Tell the Birdman to have the game postponed.

I'm still hurt you didn't take me witcha on the rides.

Hell yeah you do, I mean there could be a moment at that game where the children might have an all time great memory. If you haven't had one of those moments by now, then forget it, and just make sure the kids do. Take the kids, or just sell your tickets!
#9 | 866 days ago

The last game we went to we met a few of the players and got some pictures and autographs... I don't know what would beat that  for them.. for me.. I could think of a few..

I don't have the tickets yet.. however I just need to call my wolves Ticket buddy to get them.

I just asked my kids, and the older one ( Celtics fan) said "can we go swimming instead"  and the younger one (Nuggets Fan) asked if we could leave in the middle...

I think you should have someone meet you to get them after the party, leave early enough to get them somewhere else before the game, or leave the f**kers in the car. I would make something happen that involved them not going...then again I dont travel with children.

Go and have a great time, sometimes the best plans are the ones that went wrong.

(but really leaving them in the car is always an option)

it will be about 27 degrees... that's just slightly below freezing... I could leave them with some sternos and some chef boyardees...Maybe with a note that says "If we're still here in the morning contact the Nuggets"

lemme stew over that one for a minute..

Forget the Nuggets and wait until the Celtics come to town - it'll be a better show anyway
j/k... I would get a sitter to watch them in the car. Maybe you could supply each with a PSP (or similar) for entertainment.

I don't think I nailed...I mean hit....I mean snowballed enough kids today because my first thought to your predicament is -----"Price you pay for having kids---neeners."

Then I thought------if you really need to see this team, pay up and take the kids or pay even more to get someone else to take the kids. Let it be known how much you really want to go, if your family is anything like mine, someone will take them for a hefty price.

You know that song "It's hard out here for a pimp"? Well, it's hard out there for a Nellie. Unfortunately, I don't know the rest of the lyrics, so I can't help you.

Depends on how smart and conniving your kids are.  No, seriously.
See, I'd bring them with me, and have them pretend to lose their parents (and their ticket stubs, you don't want them finding you mid-game).  Ignore the pages over the intercom ("that loud man behind me ... geez!") and then go retrieve them (after you searched forever ... as soon as you realized they were gone) when the game ends.
They'd probably get schlepped around the inner-workings of the arena with security guards, taken to VIP areas, given snacks and drinks and entertainment (tv, video games, books, whatever they have available) and likely have a blast, while you get to see the game.  With a FREE babysitter.  Plan hatched.

Thanks for all the advice kids.

After debating leaving them in the car, with a stranger, taking them with me, losing them at the game, and having them stay at the birthday party.  I have decided that I will skip tonight's game.  They both said the don't want to go, and I can't bring myself to drag them somewhere they don't want to go.

besides, I don't have anything to wear... I can't bring myself to wear the Jersey that got signed...

So lets reminisce about the last game...

oh yeah... I'm good..

Till October.

Worst case, I'll hop in the car and go to Denver for a game

In my experience, bringing kids to a game is generally a big waste. Once I'm in charge, you'll have to be at least 16 or 18 to get into a pro game. Teams will offer child-care services right outside the stadium -- dump your kids there, then go enjoy the game.

Memories don't have price tags attached. And your kids, when picking out a nursing home for you, will be appreciative if you were responsible enough with your money to help pay for it.

"Might have started moving on knees"   Although that is an awesome way to put it, we call that "crawling" here in america.  Anyway, thank you for exposing the truth.
