Joe Calzaghe vs ???
Read the Article: Joe Calzaghe puts on a Boxing Clinic

Joe Calzaghe just beat a very difficult and strong opponent in Mikkel Kessler but what is in store now? Does he face the man who's known for exploiting styles in Bernard Hopkins? Hopkins after all, challenged the Super-middle weight champion to a fight at Yankees Stadium before his big bout with Winky Wright. Does he face a hard hitting-but old Roy Jones Jr? How would a fight against Kelly Pavlik or Jermain Taylor sound if he decides to stay in weight? Rematch Kessler?

At this stage I don't see many around his weight class that would be able to take Joe out of his game. Jt no way. Jeraim Taylor gets slaughtered By "Whales Joe", Bernard Hopkins would barely land a punch. Bernard is too old to be looking for a fight like this. Calzaghe is to accurate, too smart and too busy for a 42 yr old former middleweight. (And I happen to think Bernard Hopkins is a Hall of Famer) Calzaghe thoroughly impressed me. This wasn't asgainst some contender or contender runner up. This was against he greatest challege to date. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters. So now where does he sit in the P4P rankings. Anyone not moving this guy way up to tjhe top of their lists should really look at this fight.

shad dawsons way to big for him. Jermain Taylor should move up and fight calazge. I siad on the poll I think taylor would win but thats just an answer from the heart. I know that calazags a big draw in whale but it would be nice if he did not have 50,000 screaming fans to distract his opponent

Even though B-Hop is 42, he still has great timing.  Joe will no doubt take an early lead.  He also has a history of hand injuries.  That could play a big factor.  Also, Hopkins has been knomn to fight dirty.  Joe hasn't really had to deal with a dirty in-fighter like Hopkins.

I too would like to see Calzaghe fight Taylor. I feel their styles match up well and it would make for in interesting fight. However, the fight can be nowhere near the UK. Calzaghe is a great fighter, that goes without question, and I do believe that he will break Joe Lewis' record for title defenses, but I want to see what he can when everyone in the crowd isn't on his side. The furthest he has every fought from home is Germany, where he dominated Mario Veit (yeah, I've never heard of him either), and he has had only one other fight outside the UK (Denmark). I want him to make the trip across the pond for once to the Garden or Mandalay Bay and see what it is like to be the visitor.

taylor will beat pavlik in the rematch so there has to be a rubber match. so a taylor calazage would be a long time coming

I'm not so sure Taylor will win the rematch.  Pavlik has shown me alot in his last few fights.  Taylor looked good for the 1st 2 rounds against Pavlik. In his 2 fights with Hopkins, B-Hop hurt him late in both fights and he was very lucky to have gotten the nod in those fights.  Same thing with Winky.  Winky is not a power puncher at all and at the end of that fight his head was the size of a basketball.  He couldn't hurt glass-jawed Kassim Ouma and was scared to trade shots with CORY SPINKS!  Pavlik by KO again.

I have to defend Jermain here. He did alot of things versus Pavlik that he did not have to do. He put entertaining the fans infront of winning. Why? Because of your last comment. That he was afraid to trade with Cory. ????

????

What?

Cory Spinks was running around the ring and I dont care what anybody says. He is hard to catch and you cant say Jermain made the fight boring. You cant say if Cory just went forward that Jermain would run. The fact is, when he had a bad-ass Pavlik go forward he stood there and he traded shots. Even did something no one had ever done to Pavlik. One more punch in the flurry of Pavlik would of been nothing but a big white-hype. (Which he isnt).

I believe Hopkins won the first fight and the second fight but that is my opinion and I can see, on Boxing's system, how Taylor could be announced the winner on those. Now, assume what you will. Hopkins destroyed Trinidad, DLH, Joppy, Tarver and won a controversual snoozefest against Winky Wright. He was just able to keep up with Jermain. So that says something.

Winky has humiliated many men in his long career with that ugly turdle defence that makes fights boring as hell. Winky boring us to death doesnt mean Jermain Taylor should be the one to blame.

Glass jaw? Ouma? I'll pretend I didnt read that all together....

And just so we're clear, Spinks, Ouma, Wright were all dangerous, slick opponents everyone and their mother have ducked and avoided through their careers. Because they're "high risk-litlte reward)  But when Jermain Taylor says "screw it, I'll fight them I dont care" he is bashed on?

Jermain Taylor has the skills at Middleweight that Mayweather has at Welterweight. if Jermain wanted to he could run all night like Mayweather, be defensive, boring but effective and win a snorefest against Pavlik.

But instead he decided to trade with a middleweight bigger and stronger than him who put a monster like Miranda out like if he was left over tube of a used up roll of toilet paper.

Kelly is a safe bet. But Jermain can hurt him and he proved it in Round 2. And just so we're clear, everyone had it an even fight or in Jermain's favor on the scorecards.
