Who is on your NFL Mount Rushmore?
I did this poll a few years ago, but encompassed all sports in that poll.  Today I want to know who your 4 greatest personalities in football are.  Players, coaches, anyone associated with the sport.  If we were to build a Mount Rushmore to football..  Which four figures would we carve into that mountain?  I will not sway anyone with choices, choose other and name them in the comments..

I tried to take someone of each aspect of the game.  Your Rushmore, you put them there..  Let's hear it.

I am picking one from various sectors:

1.) Vince Lombardi (Coach) - I can't think of better legend that I would carve
2.) Dick Butkus (Defense) - When I think of legendary defense I think of Butkus
3.) Joe Montana (Offense) - This was the hardest to choose. I could have easily chosen Starr, Marino, Layne, Tarkenton, and a few others.
4.) Dan Rooney (Executive) - I have high regard for Steeler ownership.

Lawrence Taylor (?) are we putting crackheads on the list? If not replace him with Joe Montana or Jim Brown by majority vote.

I try to think of four faces that I think most anyone would recognize...

1)Mike Singletary (that stare)
2)Dan Marino (the hair)
3)Eric Dickerson (gotta have the goggles)
4)Michael Strahan (the gap in his mouth is awesome)

JoeMontana many greats out there but I would take him with the ball anyday in any cirumstances
Barry Sanders,  could have left the Lions for more money choose to stay, could have broken the record and then called it quits. Let his play on the field speak for him.
Vince Lombardi enough said
LT- may be a crack head, but the man change the way the game was played and how his postion was veiwed.

Alan Page: Personal selection of my All-NFL team as DT, and a Hall of Famer on and off the field.
Bronko Nagurski: A football pioneer who (like Eric Dickerson or Jim Brown) could play in today's league and still dominate.
Joe Montana: The man who executed the most revolutionary offense to date and with Coach Walsh changed the entire focus of the offensive side of the football--in getting to the goal-line that is....
Lamar Hunt: The owner responsible for the most positive changes to the game of football.  If he were here today, he'd probably kick the crap out of the current ringmaster of the "no fun league", the owners, and the players for being such a group of bitchy, whiny, overpaid, prima donnas.

From player's only:

1. Emmitt Smith- NFL's leading rusher (Barry would have the record if not for early retirement)
2. Dan Marino- NFL's Best PURE QB of all time. Ask again in 10 years and it will be Peyton Manning
3. Ronnie Lott- Best Defensive player of all time (in MY OPINION)
4. Jerry Rice/Ray Lewis/Joe Montana/ Rod Woodson

Im going with players that I have seen play in games and not just a highlight reel, I cant plea my case for a player i have never seen. If i did that i would consider ROGER STAUBACH, Chuck Howley, Bob Lilly, Randy White, Tony Dorsett, Mel Renfro, "Bullet" Bob Hayes,  Jack Lambert, Bob Lilly, "Mean" Joe Greene, Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Erick Dickerson, Lawernce Taylor, Johnny U., Bart Starr, Walter Payton,

The Daily Show has nothing to do with it. Bringing up what's-his-name prompted the response. It was either going to start a holy war, World War III, no discussion at all or something in between.

Look at it as yelling THEATER in a crowded fire!

Quite the fan you are... can't even spell Aikman or Irvin's names right. Also ignoring pretty much 80% of the history of your franchise and focusing entirely on a couple seasons. But ok.
