Mine are in no particular order because I can't even begin to try to rank them.
Bring on the PQs, but Eastwood is a far better director than an actor.

I dont get it, is this for "all time" best actors or best actors who are currently over 50 and acting. Because some of these guys hardly act anymore and some have been in sh!t movies lately. For example, Jeff Bridges is currently one of the best actors acting right now and Rober DeNero hasnt done anything good in 8 years. I dont understand.

I'll just go with the cop out of mine are in no particular order like everyone else.
1. Jeff Bridges  2. Robert Duvall  3. Tom Hanks  4. Gary Oldman  5. Bruce Willis  6. Morgan Freeman  7. Michael Douglas  8. Denzel Washington  9. Clint Eastwood  10. Gene Hackman

It was wrong not to put Mel Gibson on my list. Just because hes a crazy woman hating anti semitic nut case, the guy is a good actor actor. Hes not the best actor over 50, but I have enjoyed his movies.

1. Jeff Bridges  2. Robert Duvall  3. Tom Hanks  4. Gary Oldman  5. Bruce Willis  6. Morgan Freeman  7. Michael Douglas  8. Denzel Washington  9. Clint Eastwood  10. Gene Hackman

I had those 2 on my original list, but had to edit out many other great actors, because the poll was getting a bit lengthy

this list is too hard to rank after #1 and 2.  we all know Pacino and Deniro have the 2 spots locked in any order you want to put them. The rest is all gravy

I honestly want at least ten more.  Every year on the Academy Awards they show the artists who have passed away in the previous year.  This list is almost like that.  I don't want to leave anyone out.  They are all awesome in their own way, and picking only 10 just doesn't work
1. Clint Eastwood  2. Michael Douglas  3. Robert De Niro  4. Kevin Costner  5. Mel Gibson  6. Tom Hanks  7. Tommy Lee Jones  8. Jack Nicholson  9. John Travolta  10. Bruce Willis

Liam Neeson
Sidney Poitier
Gene Hackman is a close #11

I got the list of choices from an outdated website, I should have checked for recent 50 year birthdays.
I had to stop listing after so many, I had a few of those names in mind though.
1. Robert De Niro  2. Al Pacino  3. Jack Nicholson  4. Bruce Willis  5. Samuel L. Jackson  6. Harrison Ford  7. Denzel Washington  8. Gary Oldman  9. Morgan Freeman  10. Joe Pesci

Yeah, I had to check a couple first because I thought Gene Hackman had died & that Tom Holce was alive.  Then I saw a few others that weren't on the list.  And I didn't want to add too many others who are over 50.
So I considered a few first and left off others because of their main work being on TV, stage work, recent work, or not very relevent at this time. Though there are a few Oscar winers, Emmy winners, at least one Tony winner, and some are iconic:
Ted Danson. Andy Griffith, William Shatner, Leonard Nemoy, Steve Martin, John Goodman, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Tambor, Billy Bob Thornton, Adam West, Burt Ward, Ian McKellen, Robert Conrad, Alan Alda, Joel Grey, Jackie Chan, Rowan Atkinson, & 50 yr old Woody Harrelson. I HAVE to stop listing, It's starting to become like pulling at a thread.  Some of these names came to me on my own.  I love a few because of their iconic staus and maybe even a little cheesiness for a couple.  Just thought of Henry Winkler.
John Lithgow, though is relevant for his recent stint on Dextor & an Ocsar winner.  Also when I first saw the list I was very suprised to see Steve Buscemi wasn't on it yet.  Sorry about the length of this reply.

Crap found more. Edward Asner, Jerry Stiller, Carl Reiner, Christopher Plummer, Gary Burghoff, Jerry Lewis, Billy Crystal, james Garner, Kirk Douglas, Mel Brooks, Ernest Borgnine, Christopher Lee(?), & Eli Wallach. Sorry again. I'm logging off.

My only drawback is that I doubt most of those names would've made more than 1 person's top 10 list. I did this same poll a few years ago and some of the mentioned names by you before were on it, but they didn't receive any votes, so I left them out this time.

I agree completely.   There's also a couple names on the main list that by no means should be there.  Arnold Schwarzenegger?  I think it's pretty safe to say he's not one of the best actors around.  He's had some fierce films, but acting wasn't what made them good.  And of course there's several other actors I don't like, but I don't want to start any agruments or hate.  People like who they like.
