Jess's DQ: 4/6 (Edited 04/05/11 01:05PM by Jess)
It may be a quiz, question, quote, or request (ok I know request starts with an R but there's a Q in there, just go with it.)

Question of the Day: How did you come up with your screen name? If your screen name is a variation of your email address, how did you come up with that?

I was told I needed a catchy stage name waaaaayyyy back in the day. Sooooo... everybody in my family ALWAYS called me Marcus (not my real-real name) and my cousin who was also a college buddy was called D-Nice. We're related, so there you go. Marcus Nyce. It was my first e-mail address in the early 90's and I kept using it on social media sites, screen names, etc. I even use it on my business cards now.

(Random: I sometimes use the initial M. as a middle name, it stands for MotherEffin'. LMAO, Honey Badger doesn't care, he doesn't give a sh!t)

My screen name is a combination of my childhood nickname and my birth date. So in essence I didn't choose my screen name, it chose me.

Mine's pretty self explanatory, being from Philly and a diehard fan, but my Dad gave the monaker (sp?) sportchik since I used to imitate the sports announcers and piss him the heck off whenever he watched the local games.

Yeah - thought the missing "Submit" button was just a bad blonde moment.

My name is my name. My previous screen name WyldePHX was a combination of my last name and the city I live in and I pronounced it Wild Effects. I changed it because everybody knew me by my first name anyways.

Yeah, kinda like that ... only better.

First name and birth date.

I don't remember why exactly, but I think when I joined I was in the middle of a major Lakers/Spurs, Duncan/Kobe, 2 guard/Kobe argument with my ex. I think it was created in support of my rightness!

When I was 5-years-old, I went to the track for the first time to watch a horse that a family friend owned. His name was Rocky Snappy Duke and he won his race that night! The pic shows him winning and my family in the winners circle (I'm right under the 6).

Mine came from my days as a gym rat/weekend sports warrior and Mike Tyson's heyday happened at the same time. It just stuck.

I have had others too... For playing video games my character was always Homey the Clown because I loved that skit on In Living Colour.

Pretty simple....I was a birdwatcher when I was a kid so for my 5th birthday my parents got me a "hock" and the last syllable of my first name is "ey". And 54...the number of my favorite athlete growing up, Gordie Howe.
#24 | 1205 days ago

Every screen name I tried for my email was taken so I then tried "uck me and it didn't work either.  So I tried Ohwell with my birthday

The two I use most frequently are miehana34md (Pogo and email, and my first screen name here) and seahana12 (twitter and beyond) are just me thinking I'm being clever with sports stuff.

miehana34md = Anaheim (backwards), 34 is and always has been my fave number, and md = Mighty Ducks. Yea, it's an old screen name/address

Seahana12 = miehana34md was just long and I wanted something shorter for twitter, and I also wanted something fresh and new. Seahana = Sea (for Seahawks during football season and Seattle if I just want to be general...aha!) and ana = Anaheim. 12 = 12th man and my 2nd fave number due to that fact.

I would guess mine is probably obvious. I been playing Drums since the 70s, I was in a couple bands, just local. Now its my favorite hobby, it was supposed to be 96 or 97, (96. me and wife met. 97 child born) when one of my children was born. Not sure why it wouldn't accept it, cause I've seen no drummer 96 or 97. I can't remember why I didn't pick 98, because we had a child born in 98, I barely remember, I was kinda buzzing, I think, (drinking) I just wanted to get in and start talking sports, so, I just took the one I have now.
I thought about changing it, because I did it in such a hast. But, I probably won't.
