Song of the Day 4/6 (Edited 04/18/11 09:23PM by Jess)
Journey is an American rock band formed in 1973 in San Francisco, California, by former members of Santana. The band has gone through several phases; its strongest commercial success was in the late 1970s until 1987, when it temporarily disbanded. During that period, they released a series of hit songs, including 1981's "Don‘t Stop Believin", (the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history),  and their highest-charting U.S. hit, "Open Arms”. The band enjoyed a successful reunion in the mid 1990s with a Grammy-nominated hit, "When You Love a Woman”, and later regrouped with a series of lead singers.
I have included a couple of popular power ballads and also threw in a mid tempo rocker for you today. It was hard to choose because I have so many favorite Journey songs, with most of them being very under-rated, but totally brilliant songwriting. Enjoy!

This song is "Don‘t Stop Believin” by Journey (featured on their album “Escape” )

i have worked with these guys since the 80s....neal used to come into my folks dinner house when ever they came to ski at tahoe......i have done their hospitality for years as well..a good bunch of guy and arnel, their lead singer is the most humble nice person!..Jt their tour manager is a sweetheart and their production manager always brings me presents..gotta love a band that does that!! :)  if i knew how to post pics here from my pics i would post one from last oct when i worked with them for a fundraiser.  Great band great guys......
another trival fact about Journey......the day they made their final decision for lead guitarist, Les dudek(steve miller band. boz skaggs, allman bros) was picked. he ,that very same day was offered a solo record deal,so he took the solo deal and that is how neal ended up being their lead guitar player..........Les co wrote  ramblin man with the allmans when he was 15 years old!

I love this song (and group) so much that when the Glee cast (love this show....though lately, it's been interesting) performed it, I had to have the CD.

One of my fave bands....liked a LOT of their earlier stuff...Wheel in the Sky, Lovin Touchin Squeezin, Lights...there aren't too many of their songs I don't like.  Great choice, Rob!

JOURNEY!  WOW!   Grew up with this band.  My childhood (ages 11-14) which was the 1980 - 1983 years is the period of my life that any Journey song brings me back to......I'm a very nostaglic type of person

DON'T STOP BELIEVIN used to be one of my fave tunes until the WHITE SOX ruined it during their 2005 WS win.  Not that I have anything against the WSOX, but, a lot of their fans, at that time, made it a song that I now loathe!

My ALL-TIME fave Journey song is SEPARATE WAYS  >>>>>  www.youtube.com/watch

BTW - Did you know that JOURNEY was originally formed my former members of SANTANA?!?!?

I love these guys...one of my favorite bands since I was really little. When Vision Quest came out in 85 (I was in 5th grade) and Only the Young was on the soundtrack, I begged and begged and begged my parents for the tape - haha that makes me feel old.  Then I had to have everything else I could get my hands on by them.

I got to go see them several years ago when they toured with Foreigner. Foreigner sucked...Journey was on point. I honestly don't think I've heard a Journey song that I don't like.
