Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Morning. Excellent prediction Tuesday?!
So, I hear that predictions are being made based on stupidity. Well, then I can make one based on my VAST knowledge of the NHL, this includes the ability to name at least 5 teams (mascots, not necessarily cities or whatever), knowing that my team is the Atlanta Thrashers, there are goals, a puck, ice, and fights. You also get some other strange ranking points that don't go on the scoreboard...maybe?, Boston sucks, so does Philly, and the team name Red Wings is gross, plus everything that I have skimmed or been told via Teach, STONEY (how did I forget him) nyce, jess, the clown, kurt, and kramer. All of these qualify me to declare the winner of this years' Stanley Cup...wait for it...wait for iiiit....The Washington Capitals? Why? I read one bleacher report just now, saw the uniforms, and decided. I did my due diligence immediately after and checked the standings to see that they sit atop their conference..I didn't dig that, but I'm sticking with my informed decision.  You're welcome. GO Kings!

Good day, bitches.

Not a whole lot going on today ... just sitting here having some Cheddar Chex Mix and Vitamin Water ("Energy", for those who are V.Water fans).

House was pretty awesome last night.  Although I've missed 13, I find her less attractive now.  But she's still 198 steps up from the annoying ginger that's been there to fill the void.

RuPaul's Drag Race was also great, as always.  I laughed, I cried, I wanted to throw up when they did a little dance number to a new single by LaToya Jackson.  Yes, you heard me.  LaToya ... Jackson.  Mm hmm.

After Ru was supposed to be the "Untucked" portion of the show (which is where all the real drama unfolds ... or, untucks ... whatever), but instead they were holding the "New, Now, Next Awards" hosted by none other than James Vanderlargeforehead.  It also featured the Backdoorstreet Boys, NKOTB (if you don't know, then you might as well stop reading now because really), and a bunch of drag queens performing a BSB/NKOTB lip-synch mash-up.  It was like a 6.5 minute long orgasm for my eyes and ears.  And all that was just the first 10 minutes.  Damn do I love me some homos.

Good Morning, Everybodee!

Not much going on.   May change later if I wake up.

Who's that riding in the sun?
Who's the man with the itchy gun?
Who's the man who kills for fun?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.

He sleeps with a gun
but he loves his son
Killed his wife 'cos she weighed a ton.
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.

A little touched or so we're told
Killed his wife 'cos she had a cold
Might as well she was gettin' old
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.

He's quick with a gun
And his job ain't done.
Killed his wife by twenty-one,
Psycho Dad!

Who's that riding in the sleigh?
Who's that firing along the way?
Who's roughing up bums on Christmas day?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad

Who's the tall, dark stranger there.
The one with the gun and the icy stare.
The one with the scalp of his ex-wife's hair!
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad!

Who's that riding across the plain?
Who's lost count of the wives he's slain?
Who's the man who's plumb insane?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad

He's a durn good pa, but he hates the law.
He's likes to eat it raw, He's Psycho Dad!

Mornin' Q

After the NBA game I was at last night, we went down to the bar and got to meet former player / TV broadcaster Tom Chambers and interviewed him for a few minutes about the direction the Suns are headed. It was funny to hear him bash the team (that he works for) and some of the players, since what he says on-air is completely different.

I really have nothing at all worth typing or reading !  All i can say about the NHL Playoffs starting is well at least its not the NBA

And i will actually watch a few games as i am a casual hockey viewer (long as there is no baseball on) and the playoffs add to the excitement of course !

After the day I had yesterday, dealing with a lack of customer service, it was a pleasure to have the exact opposite from Telus this morning.  A quick phone call and a quick, pleasant, apologetic resolution.  What a pleasant surprise!

Thoroughly enjoyed DWTS last night, not so much for the dancing, but the orchestra with the violinist was phenomenol.  He took my breath away.  In my opinion, the men are running away with this.  Surprisingly, Chris Jericho is more than holding his own.  Coulda done without the strip job on the part of Romeo at the end of his number, it was so contrived, abs or no abs.

Playoff hockey starts up and although my Flames are out of it, I'll enjoy watching.  It won't be so much who I am cheering FOR as who I am cheering AGAINST.  There are teams I just cannot stand and I'm hoping hoping hoping they get knocked out in the first round.

I'm still incredibly stoked about my daughter's possibilities for next year.  Started working with her a little last night.  Found some online resources, thanks to the teacher in the Middle school.  No thanks to the current teacher.  Why couldn't she have suggested them if she was so protective of her text books that they aren't allowed to ever leave the classroom? sheesh.

Hope everyone has a spectacular, sunny, joyful day.  I'm off to work!

No more tears...

1st Round NHL Predictions:

Tampa in 6
Coyotes in 6
Washington in 5
Vancouver in 6
Nashville in 6
Buffalo in 6
Les Habs in 6
Sharks in 7

Song I wasn't sure but now I'm really liking...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mumford and Sons:

It's empty in the valley of your heart
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
Away from all the fears
And all the faults you've left behind

The harvest left no food for you to eat
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
But I have seen the same
I know the shame in your defeat

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

Cause I have other things to fill my time
You take what is yours and I'll take mine
Now let me at the truth
Which will refresh my broken mind

So tie me to a post and block my ears
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
I know my call despite my faults
And despite my growing fears

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

So come out of your cave walking on your hands
And see the world hanging upside down
You can understand dependence
When you know the maker's hand

So make your siren's call
And sing all you want
I will not hear what you have to say

Cause I need freedom now
And I need to know how
To live my life as it's meant to be

And I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

So the Rockies keep finding ways to win early in the season.  It was an ugly game, but I'll take it.  And once again, they scored 7, so taco special here we come tonight from 4-6

Stanley Cup playoffs begin tomorrow

Is Charlie Villanueva so ornery because he doesn't have eyebrows and has no other way of subtly outwardly displaying emotion?

And looking at the NBA, A) why do they play so many games when really the players don't care half the time, and B), why don't they just let the top 4 from each conference into the playoffs.  I mean MAYBE the Nuggets have a chance of beating OKC, but does any other lower seed even have a chance against the top 4 seeds in each conference?

Good Old Hockey Game

Hello out there, we're on the air
It's Hockey night tonight
The tension grows, the whistle blows
And the puck goes down the ice

The goalie jumps and the players bump
The fans all go insane
Someone roars, Bobby scores
At the good old Hockey game

Oh! The good old Hockey game
Is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name
Is the good old Hockey game!

Second period
Where players dash with skates a flash
The home team trails behind
But they grab the puck and go bursting up
And they're down across the line

They storm the crease like bumble bees
They travel like a burning plane
We see them slide the puck inside
It's a one-one hockey game

Oh! The good old Hockey game
Is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name
Is the good old Hockey game!

Third period, last game of the playoffs too!
Oh take me where the hockey players
Face-off down the rink
And the Stanley Cup is all filled up
For the champs who win the drink

Now the final flick of a hockey stick
And on one gigantic screen
Well the puck is in - the home team wins
That good old hockey game

Oh! The good old Hockey game
Is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name
Is the good old Hockey game!

Hola amigos y amigas

So its Tuesday morning here still...and I have been sneezing since I got to work. I swear I am allergic to every Elizabeth Taylor scent in the free world. Today she is once again wearing Violet Eyes. It smells soooo strong even customers are sneezing when they go to her. F**ckin UGH!
I don't have much today except GO LAKERS! and GO KINGS! Oh and a song if you have never heard of Dustin Kensrue(lead singer of Thrice) I recommend that you try...I like his scratchy type voice..

Blanket Of Ghosts lyrics
Songwriters: Kensrue, Dustin;

I've got a feeling, it's hard to explain
Feels like the devil rents a room in my brain
The things I'm ashamed of feel like dear old St. Paul
The things that I wanna do, I don't do at all

So bury me deep, cover me with snow
Wrap me in sleep, blanket of ghosts

Spirit is willing, but the flesh is so weak
I wanna kiss your lips, but I kissed your cheek
Hear my request, give this one on fair way
Please take me home before it's too late
Bury me deep, cover me with snow
Wrap me in sleep, blanket of ghosts

Wake me when it's spring time in heaven
The tears are all white from my face
Wake me when it's spring time in heaven
When I'm strong enough to walk in that place

So bury me deep, cover me with snow
Wrap me in sleep, blanket of ghosts

Wake me when it's spring time in heaven
The tears are all white from my face
Wake me when it's spring time in heaven
When I'm strong enough to walk in that place

I think the Knicks kinda, because of injuries to Boston (plus that idiotic trade!?!) and Denver clearly would be my pick for an upset. Not that i think it's going to happen, just gun to my head type of thing. I also think New Orleans is going to be a handful for San Antonio. portland just drew the short stick, cuz they would match up well with any other top seed in the west. the west first round is going to be pretty good i think. the east will not. I doubt that New Orleans has much of a chance vs the Spurs, but I wouldnt sleep on Portland, Memphis or Denver. LA, Dallas and OKC may all be 1 and done. And NO, Im not drunk ....... yet.

2 baseball predictions:
1. Reds and Rocks will finish 1-2 in come from behind wins this year.
2. Tulo will hit more HR's this year than the entire Padre team.  :)

WHOA-KAYYYYYY I'm back, and here goes.

I just got off the phone with the delivery company. They were letting me know that my 280lb elliptical will be here Thursday, and do I have any steps in the house or outside that they should be prepared for and no I do not, if I had stairs, I probably wouldn't need an elliptical because I'd just annoy my neighbors by running up and down them every day to tone my arse.

Still haven't named the li'l dude but I'm leaning toward Brosnan (as per Violet's suggestion).

I gotta admit, I'm a little hurt by the lack of Ducks love here. I get that kteach is a kickass gal and I love her to pieces, but some people could still say Go Kings! and Go Ducks! ffs.

I don't think I adequately Filtered yesterday. This past weekend was pretty cool...hilarious, and Aaron Curry stalks me. That is all.

There's a school meeting tonight at 5:30 for us to discuss how we can get the rest of our service hours. School doesn't end here until mid-June and they're all in a snit because I've only logged 6 (of 15) service hours required. I've actually got 7.5 more, which I haven't logged, but here's my beef....I work full time. My husband works full time - and has a jacked up schedule. My daughter gets home from school and we immediately make her sit and do her homework before she does anything else. Then we look it over and help her through anything she's missed. She also has to read at least 30 minutes per night, a book that is at her reading level (not her grade level...her reading level is considerably higher than 3rd grade). On top of that, I have put together a PortaPortal site filled with educational and typing games so she can practice her spelling - which they don't do at the friggin school (when did they stop teaching kids to spell correctly btw) - and all sorts of other stuff. She's not allowed to play her DSi until all educational stuff and chores done for the night. And this school is going to get sh***y with me because I haven't volunteered enough hours according to our "service contract"? Yes, because we have time, between 2 full time jobs and properly parenting our child to paint the basketball court or clean the school or replace AC filters or work the blood drive....I'm over it.

In honor of my kiddo's school today, an excerpt from Simple Plan is in order:

So shut up, shut up, shut up
Don't wanna hear it
Get out, get out, get out
Get out of my way
Step up, step up, step up
You'll never stop me
Nothing you say today
Is gonna bring me down

I don't have much today except GO LAKERS! and GO KINGS! Oh and a song if you have never heard of Dustin Kensrue(lead singer of Thrice) I recommend that you try...I like his scratchy type voice..

Blanket Of Ghosts lyrics
Songwriters: Kensrue, Dustin;

When I'm strong enough to walk in that place

keep smiling its tuesday ya hooooooo

Potential factors leading to this place blowing ass lately, including but not limited to. Mike's quitting, Joe's reduced involvement, Jason's reduced involvement, Rog's reduced involvement, and of course my reduced involvement. Maybe not but that is my opinion of the situation.

I think it's more than that, but yeah, it's kinda sad when the top comment on FE only has 4 Respects.

It sucked long before any of that happened (all of that factors into my processes though)...and Jason's involvement is exactly the same, it is always slower on his off week.

Is gonna bring me down

you got entirely to much time on you're hands.

Granted Jason may be off this week, but his involvement has declined since Mike left about 2 weeks ago. So unless he has been on vacation, his involvement has declined. That is probably because he is curled up in the fetal position, and crying like a newborn.

2 weeks ago was his off week, and Mike's participation was super low before he left.

Seriously, I think with the exception of about 4 people, there just arent good polls being made to warrant participation. 26 out of the 30 of us got nothing! But I still love half of you.

I'm thinking I need to do the female version of growing a playoff beard, but I'm not exactly sure what that entails yet.  Well, I kindof have an idea of what it entails, except no one will see it so it really doesn't count.

Nashville Predators, I hearchu.  Make mama proud during the playoffs, boys.

It rained 3.5 inches here in 24 hours.  Some crazy sumbitch tried to drive through a puddle this morning that came up to his windows.  Nice job, dumba**.

My song of the day:  Learn to Fly by the Foo Fighters

Run and tell all the angels
This could take all night
Think I need a devil to help me get things right
Hook me up a new revolution
Cause this one is a lie
We sat around laughing and watched the last one die

Chorus:
I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something to help me burn out bright
I'm looking for a complication
Looking cause I'm tired of lying (trying)
Make my way back home when I learn to fly

I think I'm done nursing the patience
It can wait one night
I'd give it all away if you give me one last try
We'll live happily ever trapped if you save my life
Run and tell all the angels everything is alright...

Chorus

Fly along with me, I can't quite make it alone
Try and make this life my own

Chorus 2X

1st Round NHL Predictions:

Tampa in 6
Coyotes in 6
Washington in 5
Vancouver in 6
Nashville in 6
Buffalo in 6
Les Habs in 6
Sharks in 7

Song I wasn't sure but now I'm really liking...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mumford and Sons:

It's empty in the valley of your heart
The sun, it rises slowly as you walk
Away from all the fears
And all the faults you've left behind

The harvest left no food for you to eat
You cannibal, you meat-eater, you see
But I have seen the same
I know the shame in your defeat

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

Cause I have other things to fill my time
You take what is yours and I'll take mine
Now let me at the truth
Which will refresh my broken mind

So tie me to a post and block my ears
I can see widows and orphans through my tears
I know my call despite my faults
And despite my growing fears

But I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again

So come out of your cave walking on your hands
And see the world hanging upside down
You can understand dependence
When you know the maker's hand

So make your siren's call
And sing all you want
I will not hear what you have to say

Cause I need freedom now
And I need to know how
To live my life as it's meant to be

And I will hold on hope
And I won't let you choke
On the noose around your neck

And I'll find strength in pain
And I will change my ways
I'll know my name as it's called again
I don't see the Coyotes beating the Red Wings. The Yotes have struggled with inconsistencies all season to remain a playoff team and they don't have much of a scoring attack, though Detroit doesn't have the best goal keeping in the league. I think these will be low scoring games with the Red Wings winning in 5 to 7.

Alas,  I think I jinxed myself.  My daughter went over to a friend's house, and on the way, she fell off her scooter and injured her arm.  She has a humerus fracture near her elbow.  (I said humerus, not humorous!)   She gets to follow up with a visit to the pediatric orthepe...orthipedi...uh, doctor.   The medical assistant guesstimated this could take 4 to 6 weeks to heal, which distressed my daughter, since she is scheduled to go with the band to Los Angeles to play.  I told her the follow-up doctor could make a better determination.

On the plus side, they didn't put a cast on her, just a splint, so it might not be that bad.  I'll be praying for her.
