Hush little baby...
So, while at my mom's, she decides that since I wouldn't come in the room and chill with them, they would come to me and force some family time on me. She says she knows nothing about me or us really. Of course you don't, I don't like you and have never told you anything that wasn't mandatory, FFS you may be the least approachable parent in the history of the world...I digress. Anyway, she asked the kids what situation do they think would make me cry in movies or tv (this is the type of stupid mess she interrupted me for, yes. *sigh*) and everyone is like "uhh...she doesn't cry, i've never seen her cry"...so I'm all, "I'm not evil, I'm sure I've cried," but I couldn't recall a movie to save my life. Hush little baby... Photo...just did!! Ok, I was gonna ask if any of you knew of one that has made me cry, but I got it now. So instead, simply tell me of a movie and/or movies that cause you to tear up, bawl, or drop that cute single masculine tear. GO!

Field of Dreams when Ray says to his father: "Hey dad....you want to have a catch?"

Hardball - when G Baby gets shot and killed.

Shawshank - the end is just so damn beautiful.

Dumb and Dumber - when Harry and Lloyd don't get on the bus at the end.

Brian's Song - "I'd like to tell you about a guy I know, a friend of mine. His name is Brian Piccolo. And he has the heart of a giant, and that rare form of courage that allows him to kid himself and his opponent, cancer. He has a mental attitude that makes me proud to have a friend who spells out the world 'courage,' 24 hours a day, every day of his life. Now you honor me by giving me this award. But I say to you here now Brian Piccolo is the man who deserves the George S. Halas award. It is mine tonight... and Brian Piccolo's tomorrow."

I also cried like a little bi**h when reading the end of Where The Red Fern Grows.

No movie makes me cry ... when other people are around.

I can think of several off the top of my head that have made my cry, or at least tear up a little.

-  Camp:  The scene where the chubby girl sings "Here's Where I Stand" to her fattist parent.

-  The Laramie Project:  Especially when the female cop is testifying about how she couldn't tell Matthew Shepherd was even a human until she saw his blood-covered face with streaks from his tears.

-  The Blind Side:  I don't remember exactly what did it, but there were a couple watery-eye moments.

-  Brokeback Mountain:  Awww.

-  Old Yeller:  I'm a dog lover, so, yeah.  Shutup.

-  A Walk to Remember:  I just ... I had to.

-  Beaches:  It was sad, admit it, f*ckers.

I tend to tear up when I'm watching something that is sad, that I can relate to.  Just some watery eyes....no sobbing or anything like that. There isn't a particular movie or scene that does it.

My mom is a VERY sensitive person and my dad is not soo much, although, the older he has gotten (< i hate that word), the more sensitive he has become.

I tend to have a little more of my mom, when it comes to being sensitive, than I do my dad.   It's a curse and a blessing.

the help - cried on and off through a good half of this 2.5 hour flick
away we go - trampoline scene
green mile - belly sobbed, shuddered, couldn't breathe. had to take a nap afterwards
what dreams may come - pretty much the whole movie
born free - bittersweet tears

these are just the big criers for me. but i've had episodes of scrubs make me cry, so given the right time of month and recent events in my life, i can pretty much shed a tear on anything.

Pursuit of happyness
There is an Indian Movie called Tare zameen par (stars on the ground). It's about a dyslexic child who is sent to a boarding school because the parents think he's not disciplined enough (They don't know he's dyslexic). It reminded me of my childhood. I couldn't handle that movie, it reminds me of all those times when my parents punished me because i acted like a child. The movie had song "Maa(Mother)" it breaks me down every time i hear it.

It wasn't a movie, but an ESPN story. It was about this little boy with Progeria.

I don't usually cry during movies, so there aren't many that I can think of off the top of my head that make me tear up. Usually if I do cry/get choked up, it's a happy type thing. Sad stuff really does nothing to me unless I relate to it on a personal level, and really the only thing I can think of here is television - the episode of ER where Dr. Green died and his daughter got out of her car in the funeral procession and grabbed a balloon from some realty sign or something and released it. That choked me up. And real life stuff like athlete retirement ceremonies will get to me too.

Happy/excited/emotional - the end of Miracle and the end of The Help just recently. Actually The Help, I teared up at the end of the book more than I did the movie.

Sad - I can't think of any movie right now that does this (my husband calls me heartless). I'll have to come back, I know there's gotta be some.

Stepmom brings back some great memories.  Had a roommate in college that was outed by his gf for crying during that movie.  For the rest of our time living together, we all called him "Stepmom," neighbor girls included.  Man oh man did he used to get heated.  Can't wait to see him at the reunion.

I drink 4 to 6 glasses of water a day to keep from dehydrating, just in case.
Field of Dreams- when Costner is playing catch with his dad, it is over for me. Just roll me in a corner.
Brian's Song- when Gale Sayers wins the Most Courageous Award thing and says 'I love Brian Piccolo', I am done.
Father of the Bride- kicks my arse. My youngest daughter gets married in March, I am walking her down the aisle. Stick a fork in me.
E.T.- at the end when ET and little dude split, and ET says 'ouch'... Niagara Falls.
I can name chic flics, sports movies, war movies, animal movies, and animations. Anyone that is dying of cancer at the end of a movie kind of thing, gets me everytime.

There, I said it.

Saving Private Ryan - The beginning when he is walking among all those crosses,  I get to thinking of all the men and boys who gave there lives on D Day.

Brian's Song - The locker room scene when Gale is telling his teammates for th first  time and he wants to give the game ball to Brian.

The Notebook, yes F'ers i admitted it. - The part where they are at the house and having dinner then start to dance and she suddenly dosent kno who he is and has to be restrained. makes me think how much it would suck not to know who my wife is or vice versa and only get moments together, then at the end he goes to her room and they die together laying next to each other.

When he gets the letter, when he shows it to his dad, when he quits the team, when Fortune gives him the big speech, when his teammates applaud his return, when his teammates turn in their jerseys and tell Coach Devine "Give Rudy my spot," When D-Bob leaves for law school at Thug U, when his family walks into the stadium(I actually said that line to my friend when I went to my first ND game), when he is dressing out in the stadium, when he leads the team out of the tunnel, when the crowd starts chanting his name, when he runs onto the field, when he makes the tackle, when he gets the sack, when his teammates carry him off the field. You all have sparked my memory!  I knew I was emotional. The movie I remember while making the poll was Remember the Titans. I don't actually remember if I shed tears the first time, but it's possible. It's probably been mostly sports movies, including Miracle. I didnt cry when I saw Brian's Song. I was told to watch it again or I have no heart. LOL. I think maybe, Pride...Bernie Mac cried, so probably cause I fall apart when men cry. I think Beaches did make me cry and it's also why I try not to watch chick flicks. That may have been my first real cry (over a movie), I saw it about 9 years ago, and I was not amused. Like Jess, on ER when Dr. Green and Dr. Pratt died, I cried. Possibly that  Cuba Gooding Jr and Deniro movie, idk. And the only other that I'm pretty sure got me was The Other Sister, I don't even know why.

oh, oh...Philadelphia. I take the Beaches thing back. I think everybody in the house cried watching Philadelphia.

No, the scene where Pete dies and the resulting funeral scene have never made me cry. I guess those things have never had an impact on me, cause I never felt an emotional attachment to them. However, I am able to get an emotional attachment to the dream of playing football for ND. That is why I cry at the last 45 minutes of movie.

I cried in the theater when Mufasa died in The Lion King...I was 9 when it came out though.  Generally movies don't make me cry, but a couple moments do choke me up and I'm damn close to crying.

The end of Field of Dreams has to be the absolute worst for me.  If you don't at least get choked up when Ray asks his dad to play catch, you might as well be a robot.

The other that brings me very close to crying is the end of Remember the Titans when they all start humming "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" at Bertier's funeral.

Also, if I see something sad on TV or in the news (just as Janet said, only and only if there's nobody watching) , that happened to me days ago, when some stupid criminals bombed a casino in Monterrey and 52 people died, I felt so sad and angry, or last night, I was watching TV and  there was this movie, it had already started, but I had nothing better to do or watch, it was that or one of those silly infomercials, so I kept watching, funny thing it was set on Christmas, lol Susan Sarandon and Penelope cruz were in it, and some other people whose lives connected that day for different reasons, the end was kinda touching and there I was, with watery eyes, I blamed all the stress and work  I'm having lately...yep, it was that

P.S. Aaaawwww (for Jason)
