Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Today is my little sister's 18th birthday. This is crazy to me.

I haven't watched any of my shows because I'm not a fan of live tv unless it's sports, but the dvr has been busy. How was the first episode of the X-Factor?

Has stupid, ugly, arrogant Mayweather not fought Pacquaio yet? Idk why anyone would even watch him fight anyone else. Ugh him.

Thirsty Thursday is upon us, but I'm not drinking tonight.  BIG weekend coming up and I need to be on my "A" game at the annual Bears/Pack showdown.

Modern Family was pretty good last night.  Not their best work, but I enjoyed many laughs.  It's Always Sunny tonight and in just a few weeks, The League is back.  Yeah, boy!

While playing bball last night, I've come to the realization that the NBA is probably not going to have a season.  I love college hoops, but the NBA is where it's at.  Here's to hoping we can have replacement players a la the NFL back in '87(IIRC).  I'd like to try out just for the fun of it.  I'd wear a cape to the tryouts like the odd Eagles fans in "Invincible."

Why am I just now learning about the greatness that is Kevin Hart?  Dude is fv**ing hil-ar-ious!  I don't have a Twitter account, but I may have to start one just to follow him.  Was reading his stuff last night and I was rollin'!

Hossa is back on the ice for the Hawks.  Dude lost one of his best friends in the Russian plane crash and then had his first child a few days later.  Talk about ups and downs.  This is the first time he's had an extended off-season in three years after playing in three consecutive Stanley Cup Finals.  I predict he has a monster season...if he can finally stay healthy of course.

Enjoy this fine day and remember, lots of vodka helps ease the pain of a loss.

So I thought I was feeling better last night.. Then I woke up this morning

*The Yankees clinched the AL East last night, ugh.. The Red Sox are barely hanging on with the Rays and now the Angels making late charges at the Wild Card.. At least they aren't alone as the Braves have also decided to sh** the bed coming down the stretch and the Cards and Giants are looking to make a run
*How good must it be to be Ryan Gosling? He's got one of the best reviewed movies of 2011, Drive, out, another fine film coming out soon, The Ides of March, and he's banging Eva Mendes.. Well played sir, well played..
*I watched the Tillman Story last night.. Excellent
*The Avs kick off their preseason tonight in Dallas

Good Morning, Everybodee!

Not much going on.  Just another day in Paradise.

Didn't watch much TV last night, need to catch up online.   Heard on the radio that some nut thought exposing himself on a staged singing show was a good idea.  The radio DJs are talking about it this morning,.  You know the network left that part in just to get people talking about the show.   I'm not big on those shows anyways, but their decision to continue to show this when they know kids will be watching gives me no reason to watch this show now.  (yes, yes, they "blotted" out his parts, but still....)

Morning.

My head is a little achy today..............it happens when hockey starts back up.  Speaking of which................I love the smell of a ticket just torn from it's resting place settling in my hand. As for the game--------------Kings lost in a shoot out 2-1; however, I'm totally digging Mike Richards paired with Brownie--------the way Richards sees the ice ......sighhhhhhh.....I can't wait for regular season, and a couple rookies impressed me as well-----------Voynov (who will get an even longer look with Doughty still holding out---------reminds me of Lubimir Visnovsky) and Nolan------big kid with soft hands. Also, before the game, they played a beautiful tribute to all those who died on the plane crash as well as those who died in the off season that weren't on that plane. So sad, but the tribute the NHL put together was nice. Of course Pavel Demitra's tribute was at the end -----------in honor of his time with the Kings. Well done.

Tonight is Back to School Night. I give my little speech to the parents on what I'm expecting from their kids and them this year. I always write something down, though I never read it and just talk off the top of my head. Should be an interesting night.

Peace and Shaved Ice to All and to All a Swell Day!

Since it's the year of the QB or dragon or something... I took the 3 best known QB ratings systems (ESPN's QBR, the old school one and the one at Football Outsiders) and used their rankings after two weeks to come up with an average rating. (I took the three ranks like #2, #6, #3 added them up and divided by three.) Here's the top ten in QLR QB AVG. RAT.:

1. Brady - 1
2. Fitzpatrick - 3.66
3. Rodgers - 4
4. Brees - 4.33
5. Stafford - 4.66
6. Romo - 5.66
7. Hasselbeck - 8.33
8. Campbell - 8.66
9. Schaub - 9.33
10. Rivers - 11

The only consensus was Brady (oddly enough McCown wasn't unanimously the worse??!!??) and Josh Freeman would be consider "average"  or the mean in this system ranking 16th. What does this mean? Idk, but I'm going to do it again after maybe 5 or 6 games and maybe add in a win/loss or something. This only takes into account 2 games, kinda means nothing, although the 3 ratings systems do vary wildly at times.

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

News from the sporting world.  Former Denver Pioneers basketball player Phil Heath, has won the coveted title of Mr. Olympia.  Mr. Heath, pictured below, was 5'11, 180 lbs. when he played for the Pioneers at age 18.  Now in his early thirties, he gives hope to closet door punchers around he world that, they too can become manly men given the proper regimen of diet, excercise, and "supplements".

The great by Gawd State of Texas  finally got one right last night, as they deep fried Lawrence Brewer, a white supremacist convicted of the infamous dragging death of James Byrd.  The only thing wrong with this picture is that he wasn't put to death in the same manner that he killed his victim.  Special note for Brewer's Codefendant, John William King...Your turns coming f**ker.  There never was a time that $h*t like this was right.

Back to sports for a sec.  The NFL is warning teams that they will not tolerate fakers any more.  Officially, the NFL was talking about faking injuries, but word has it that Eli Manning $h*t his pants after hearing the news.  He's been faking being a real QB for several years and getting away with it.

A word to the wise...watch out where you whip it out.  A Washington man is suing Starbucks after his 5 year old daughter discovered a digital video camera in the bathroom at a downtown DC Starbucks, filming patrons while they were in the process of getting rid of that $h*tty coffee.  Apparently this aint an isolated incident, as there have been three other reported cases of the same exact $h*t happening at STARBUCKS around the US this year.

Thats it.  You F'ers now know all you need to know.  Bite me.

Newton is ranked 16th, 16th, 9th in the three system's ratings. 16 + 16 + 9 = 41 (divided by 3) is 13.66 (or slightly above average, which would be 16 out of 32)

Edit - just in - FYI: Just forwarded Pi gag to my dude and he agrees. LOL "you can't CONTAIN him you can only hope to STOP him. Most people can't wrap their heads around that."

I seriously need to do something to cheer me up.  Golfing is pretty much done for the season - I took some pics of the fall colors around here yesterday which I'll post when I have some time.  This getting up and going to work and doing nothing much else is getting to me.  I need live hockey.  I was wanting to go to a DC Rage game tonight, but they aren't playing until tomorrow night.  Of course I work tomorrow night.  *sigh*

I really hope everyone has a wonderful day.  I want to hear all about everyone's wonderful day when i get back from my not-so-wonderful day.  Reno's suck.

Oh, and today they make our check out stations mobile, meaning they put them on these little wheely cart things so they can move them where they need them and work around them.  Oh joy.  We already get so much bitching from the customers cuz they can't find their 74 Sherry ($5.99 for a 26 oz bottle) I can just hear the compliments on how we are able to keep the store open for them every day *sarcasm*

Sorry to be a downer.  I'll go to work now.  Cheers.

The only quarterback before to ever achieve my Pi rating was John Elway. Naturally, the P stands for "passing" and the i is for "i can run a 4.2 40 time" :)

Random question.. But they are are not the same, and depending on who you run into, some on both sides would take offense.  Atheism is pretty dogmatic to the point that there is no belief in god, whereas an agnostic is a little more philosophical in the debate to the point they don't know one way or the other or feel they can make such a judgement when there is such a lack of evidence to adequately support either side, or they withhold judgement because some aspect of reality is unknowable

The American bison (Bison bison), also commonly known as the American buffalo, is a North American species of bison that once roamed the grasslands of North America in massive herds. Their range once roughly comprised a triangle between the Great Bear Lake in Canada's far northwest, south to the Mexican states of Durango and Nuevo León, and east along the western boundary of the Appalachian Mountains.[2] Because of commercial hunting and slaughter in the 19th century, the bison nearly went extinct and is today restricted to a few national parks and other reserves.

Two subspecies or ecotypes have been described: the plains bison (Bison bison bison), smaller in size and with a more rounded hump, and the wood bison (Bison bison athabascae) – the larger of the two and having a taller, square hump.[3][4][5][6][7][8] Furthermore, it has been suggested that the plains bison consists of a northern (Bison bison montanae) and a southern subspecies, bringing the total to three.[6] However, this is generally not supported. The wood bison is one of the largest species of bovid in the world, surpassed by only the Italian Chianina, the Asian gaur and wild Asian water buffalo. It is the largest extant land animal in North America.

The Braves now have a 1 game lead for the wildcard spot. Judging by the schedules they seem to be out. The Yankees are in the playoffs...AGAIN. Baseball has an extremely long season, and the Yankees make it to the playoffs every year. The World Series was great last season, but I'm just not as excited about baseball like I was in the 90's and early 2000's.

I've thought about it. Maybe it's because the Braves aren't as good. It's really not about that thought. I think it had more to do with the steroid-era in baseball. Although it was there in the 90's I never knew it, thought about it, or knew it was even an issue. I love football and there's obviously the PED's being used there, but it's different somehow. I think I'd rather see juiced up football players. But baseball is a kids game, an art form, and it's better when it's played clean.

Weird day at work......I have a lot of those lately.

Fed-Ex delivers a package to us this morning, addressed to the Mrs.  daughter.  So Mrs. M opens it.  It is a catalog for
Sothebys Auction House.www.sothebys.com/en/catalogues/ecatalogue.html/2011/fine-english-and-european-decorative-arts#/r=/en/ecat.fhtml.N08800.html+r.m=/en/ecat.lot.N08800.html/194/    Sorry the link is long.  So, she is flipping through, and
says "HEY, that's mine!"  There are 3 items that are hers that her daughter is selling behind her back.   She spent the rest of the
morning asking me why her daughter hates her.  She is not going to stop the items from going to auction.  She just wants
to die so her **** daughter can get all her money.  It's really sad.   Money does weird things to people.

On a funny note, we had a conversation today that went like this:

Mrs. M ---"My daughter in law Deborah was an Olympic tennis player"
Me       ---"Really?"
Mrs. M ---"She once played against Evonne Goolagong, on the grass courts"
Me       ---"I remember that name"
Mrs. M---"Yes, she was one of those Native people from Australia"
Me--------"I don't think she was an Aborigine"
Mrs. M---puzzled look "NO, a NATIVE AUSTRALIAN"
Me----     "Australia was a penal colony"
Mrs. M---"Why are you talking about sex?"

Had one of the best political conversations ever while making a stop by the race track , now i know race tracks aren't known to house the cream of the crop when comes to brain power , but not everyone there are dumba**'s.  Always exceptions ofcourse !

Me and couple of the guys get there and go to the jockey club to meet some friends and a guy we know calls us over to his table to chat for a bit while we wait on the other guys to get there. So he has his brother n law and a friend sitting with him from Mississippi , so he introduces us all and we sit and begin to chat about horses and whatever , so bout 15 mins in the brother n law ask me who i plan on voting for in the next presidential election , so i say oh i don't know i usually just flip a coin while im in the voting booth (im not a big political talker esp in public).  So he says well i can tell u i am voting for Perry , so i say really why ?  And he says well if he can keep s**t together in Tennessee then no reason why he won't do just as good a job in the White House ,  so i said well what do u like so much about what he has done in Tennessee. He says well think about it when was the last time you heard something bad about Tennessee in the news , not for a long time so he has been keeping things together there. That's kind of man we need to be president.

So one of the guys with me says to him , im just glad you aren't going to vote for Sarah Palin cause she done a crap job in Florida. Guy looks at me and say , this kid with you ain't too smart he thinks Sarah Palin was the mayor of Florida ,  he laughs , and says cmon kid everyone knows Palin was the Mayor in Alaska . But i wouldn't vote for her anyway all we need now is a woman in the White House who isn't smart enough to do the job.

So we get up to leave and the guy that i knew says sorry man he ain't the sharpest tool in the box , i said no its ok it was very entertaining and by the way he isn't even in the tool shed much less the box lol.

AND we wonder how some Politicians can stay in office even though they don't do their jobs

I swear some people make me wanna.....

"Drop The World"
(feat. Eminem)

[Verse 1: Lil Wayne]
I got ice in my veins, blood in my eyes
Hate in my heart, love in my mind
I seen nights full of pain, days of the same
You keep the sunshine, save me the rain
I search but never find, hurt but never cry
I work and forever try, but I'm cursed so never mind
And it's worse but better times seem further and beyond
The top gets higher, the more that I climb
The spot gets smaller and I get bigger
Tryna get into where I fit in, no room for a ni**a
But soon for a ni**a it be on mother f***er
Cause all this bulls**t, it made me strong mother f***er

[Chorus:]
So I pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head, yeahh!
B**ch, I'm a pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head
And I could die now rebirth mother f***er
Hop up in my spaceship and leave Earth
Mother f***er I'm gone
Mother f***er I'm gone

[Verse 2: Lil Wayne]
Uhhhh!
I know what they don't wanna tell you
Just hope you're heaven sent, and you're hell proof
I walk up in the world and cut the lights off
And confidence is the stain they can't wipe off
Uhhh, my word is my pride
But wisdom is bleak and that's a word from the wise
Serve to survive, murdered and bribed
And when it got too heavy I put my burdens aside

[Chorus:]
So I could pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head, ha ha yeahh!
Bitch, I'm a pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head
And I could die now rebirth mother f***er
Hop up in my spaceship and leave Earth
Mother f***er I'm gone
Mother f***er I'm gone
I'm gone

[Verse 3: Eminem]
It hurts but I never show, this pain you'll never know
If only you could see just how lonely and how cold
And frostbit I've become, my backs against the wall
When push come to shove I just stand up and scream 'F**k them all'
Man it feels like these walls are closin' in
This roof is cavin' in, but it's time to raise it then
Your days are numbered like pages
And my book of rhymes got them crookin' boy
This crooked mind of mine got them all shook
And scared to look in my eyes
I stole that f***in' clock, I took the time
And I came up from behind and pretty much snuck up
And b**t f***ed this game up
Better be careful when you bring my name up
F**k this fame, that ain't what I came to claim
But the game ain't gonna be the same on the day that I leave it
But I swear one way or another I'm a make these f***in' haters believe it
I swear to God, won't spare the rod
I'm a man of my word, so your f***in' heads better nod
Or I'm a f**k around in this b**ch and roast everybody
Sleep on me that pillow is where your head'll lie
Permanently b**ch, it's beddy bye
This world is my Easter egg, yeah prepare to die
My head is swole, my confidence is up
This stage is my pedestal, I'm unstoppable
Incredible hulk you're trapped in my medicine ball
I could run circles around you so fast your f***in head'll spin, dawg
I split your cabbage and your lettuce and olives
I'll f***in'

[Chorus:]
Pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head, yeahh!
B**ch, I'm a pick the world up and I'm a drop it on your f***in' head
And I could die now rebirth mother f***er
Hop up in my spaceship and leave Earth
Mother f***er I'm gone
Mother f***er I'm gone
I'm gone

I'll be back, there's a bottle of Patron downstairs with my name on it.

I just had my hair and nails done. My hair is AWESOME (if a bit shockingly short in the back), and my nails are fabulous but it takes about three times as long to type anything right now because I'm not used to them...and I even had her do "hockey length". So, I won't type a bunch today, but I wanted to check in and say HELLO!

Evonne Goolagong really was an aborigine.

My desk is a complete mess!

Normally that would mean I'm in the middle of a project, yet still know where everything I need is at....

Unfortunately, my kids put all the papers I had on my desk in a pile--in no certain order, and cluttered my desk last night.

So, not only am I going to have to sort through the paperwork and notes to my project, but clean my desk of the kids things as well.

I have a lengthy document I think I'm going to read to my kids this afternoon after school called: "The Riot Act".....

I know next week, the Padres are hosting the Cubs...our school choir is going to be there (with choirs from other schools) to sing the National Anthem.  (Not sure if my daughter is going, there's two choir classes, I'll have to check)

Since both our teams made that list of teams not to root for, I'm not sure which way to go here.   I guess I'll just have to go the best route here and offer my condolences to you and your team.

I'll try to get some.   I'm not sure if I'm going...our director's husband asked me if I could make it as he had to take is mother-in-law to the airport, but that has now been re-arranged.  (So, I don't get a free ticket.)   But I just got paid, so I'm going to try to get tickets.

I'm not sure if I can get photos, I heard from him that he has to try to get his camera (DSLR) past security, as it looks like a professional camera.  I have a basic DSLR myself, so I need to see if I can bring it in.

 Here comes Santa Claus,
Here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus Lane,
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer
Pullin' on the reins.
Bells are ringin', children singin',
All is merry and bright.
So hang your stockings and say your prayers,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/christmas_carols/here_comes_santa_claus.html ]
Here comes Santa Claus,
Here comes Santa Claus,
Right down Santa Claus Lane,
He's got a bag that's filled with toys
For boys and girls again.
Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
Oh what a beautiful sight,
So jump in bed, and cover your head,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.

Thanks to their slowness and me being kind of a impatient di**, I got a coupon for a free Chick Fil-A sandwich.

Big TV night with the premieres of Community and Parks & Recreation. Now that they're back-to-back, that'll make things much easier for me. Jeopardy's about to come on, so Daily Jeopardy is going to be late tonight.

Tomorrow (or at least some point this weekend), I'm going to see "Moneyball" (here's my blog on the book if you haven't seen it). Given the content, if I see a female not just there for Brad Pitt, I should marry her on the spot, right?

Good luck...your chances may be better than you think that there will be a female there watching for the content and not the "eye candy."

I'm going to see it too, but I have no interest in Brad Pitt. (Even before I was married I didn't really see the draw). I'm sure I'm not an anomaly.

So now all that's left for me to do it cheer for TB to knock the Sux Sox right out of that wild card spot.

Good day, bitches.

Looooooong day, I don't wanna talk about it.

X-Factor was ok, sis.  I was hoping for amped-up-on -meanness-to-counteract-Idol-warm-fuzziness Simon, and super drunk/high (on life that is ... yeah ... life) Paula, but alas, no such luck.
Nicole Scherzslkfjlaenger, from the PCD, was a little annoying.
LA Reid was also a little annoying.  And I expected a little more rhythm from the greatest music producer in the world (and perhaps a little less of telling everyone he's the greatest music producer in the world).  When he was bobbing back and forth off-tempo to the beat at times, I swore he and old-school falling over drunk Paula had some Freaky Friday body swap thing going on.

That's all I've got for now.  I'm gonna go change, eat something, and wait for my shows.

If the NBA does have replacement players, I may tryout for the Suns just for the hell of it, so I can say that I tried. Anybody that gets picked up would have to have college experience / former NBA players who were waived I would think.
