Taking Pleasure in the Pain & Suffering of Athletes
Many people are thrilled that Michael Vick is hurt with a broken hand.
Who are some players (any sport) that you were actually happy about being injured for a while?

I believe that wishing misfortune on another, as well as reveling in said misfortune, to be an abomination of all that is good and right in this world.

With that being said, I secretly pray each year during the Giants/Eagles game for each and every one of them sorry F'ers to suffer season ending injuries.

F**K the Eagles!

Never.  While I really despise some athletes, particularly players on my team's rivals, I never wish injury upon anyone.  For one, I like winning when the opposing team is at 100%.  No excuses.  Two, I enjoy watching the best of the best at their respective sport.

Now there have been times when I've laughed at injuries.  The Gramatica brother that tore his ACL hopping around like a kid on a trampoline was priceless.

I didn't mean to wish it upon somebody, that would be f**ked up. I believe that once the injury is a reality, then it's morally-permissible to enjoy.

I would get a non-sexual orgasm anytime I thought about Tom Brady's knee injury a few years back.

Twisted ankle or some s**t, out for the game? Too many.
Out for the season or an extended period of time with a serious injury? None.

It's worse if it's the star that's out because when your team beats their team, that, of course, will be the reason why. You need to beat them with all weapons in place like the Bills did yesterday. It just feels better.

Umm....unless Collinsworth counts, then I wish season ending things would happen to him, not life threatening (well...) but serious enough for him to go away.

I take pleasure in injuries when someone who is living on his past glory gets injured to pave the way for a new talent.
I enjoy it more if it happens to a member of my team.

What do you have against Austin?

My favorite play in sports is the Beanball. I really like seeing it happen to any member of the Minnesota Twins.

You said you wanted to see a season ending injury to Collinsworth.  I assumed you were talking about Austin, pictured below.

I don't wish injury on a player and esp when it is something serious. But after the fact i can't say i don't sit and say well if it had to happen to anyone etc etc etc  ..........

As far as Mike Vick is concerned , to get hurt and then try and blame the league and its officials because they don't "protect" him enough is so f**king ridiculous its amazing. The Ref's are not paid to block for you Mike so try blaming your offensive line !   And oh by the way heads up even if they throw a flag you still got hit and injuries happen your playing football Mikey !   So STFU you sound like a b*t*ch

Oh and that broken hand Mike -  good luck wit that !

We had a buddy in college, Carlos, that we called LOS who delighted in the misfortune and pain of others particularly athletes. We joked that LOS stood for Leech Of Sorrow. Basically a pulled hammy or bum knee was the wind beneath his wings. lol

Oh that child looks kinda good right thurr. No, I was referring to Papa Collinsworth. I never wish any kind of injury on the kids. I almost got to fighting with an old man for doing that at a college game a few years ago.

I know you were talking about Austin's father, but that's funny about almost coming to fistacuffs.  Who were you wishing injury upon?

I don't want to see any player get hurt. But if they did get hurt then yes all of them that use it. I do not believe they all do however. (just 99.9999 %)

We are so having a failure to communicate lately. ugh. I wasn't wishing it on anyone. I'm at my "something like a brother in law's" football game at the time and one of the players on his team gets injured. Old man in front of me says something to the effect of hurt them all, blah blah, whatever, I dont remember specifically but I took exception to that since we had family on the field, and so I had a few words to say....

Sid, uh huh.

Most folks can't get over the dog issue with Vick.  Me, I could care less...he paid his debt on that but he's a Eagle and his acting like a little bitch right now.

Gotcha and for the record, it's my fault on failure to communicate.  I hit it a little too hard this weekend and I'm not firing on all cylinders.  I would of had words for the old man as well.  Bravo!

Haven't wished ill on anyone in sports since my friend and I high fived each other when Dale E. crashed at Daytona.
I was glad to see him out.  Just didn't occur to either of us  that he would be dead.   So, uh.   no.

If you don't play for one of the teams I root for, I could care less if you get hurt. If you play for a divisional rival, I hope you blow out your knee getting out of the shower, and can't play for the rest of the year!

I'm a believer in   "what goes around, comes around", therefore i don't wish bad on anyone.    When Dale E. was racing i thought he was the dirtiest driver around but when he got killed in a racecar, i cried like a baby.  No i don't wish harm on anyone.  Just the car run out of gas or have a flat tire.  lol

i want broadcaster phil simms to suffer career ending lock-jaw  so i don't have to hear him over analyze  EVERY G.D. PLAY.
we saw the 2 yard gain phil, we don't need 3 replays and your mouth running till the next snap.
