In the Land of Make-Believe
It's that time of year again....where I sit at the movies and all through the previews, I "oooh" and "aaah" myself through the upcoming holiday releases.  Which of these November/December movies are you most looking forward to?

I'm really looking forward to Sherlock Holmes too, just b/c I forgot how much I love Robert Downey, Jr. while he was in the middle of his rehab trainwreck.  He was pure genius in the earlier Sherlock Holmes.

What a horrible lineup. Think i'll stay home and wait for The adventures of Tintin to come out on DVD.

Been reading through all of Sherlock Holmes novels/short stories, should be done before the movie comes out. And I have a man-crush on RDJ, so that will make me want to watch it more.

(and can I PQ a poll for use of that picture?)

The only two I would/ probably will watch for myself are Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Of course I'll be taking Bobby to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. Unless between now and then he decides he's to old for Alvin, so we'll be going to see it.

I heart Robert Downey Jr. and I enjoyed the first Sherlock Holmes so I'm excited about that.

I'll also watch Breaking Dawn.

Saw the previews for J. Edgar last night when we went to Moneyball and it looks pretty good, actually.  Not really something that I'll want to sit in a theater and watch but I'll definitely get it on PPV for a movie night when it comes out there.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo looked like it might be interesting too.

I'm super busy this upcoming holiday season though, so I doubt I'll even be able to watch any of these in the theater...although we have discussed going to that AMC at Pleasure Island in Orlando when we're there to do the whole "dinner at the theater" experience so who knows.

I'm not sure if I'm actually looking forward the any of those movies, but I pomised by daughter I'd take her to Twilight. Totally a daddy-daughter date, with just the two of us going to dinner and a movie. With three kids it's hard to get one-on-one time with any of them, so we have to plan on nights like this. I took my son to Captain America and he had dinner and a root beer at the local sports bar afterward. I'll probably be talked into taking all three to Chipwrecked, too.

Wow! There is not a movie on the list that I have even the slightest bit of interest in seeing. I know that recently I heard there was a movie coming out and I was kind of excited to see it. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was, so I will go with The Dark Knight.

That didn't make the list since it's due out summer 2012.

J Edgar. I love Leonardo, and I have to admit it, I am a Twilight person. My daughters made me read the books. So I have seen the movies and have enjoyed them.

I reluctantly read the first book and became a fan as well.  Thank God Taylor Lautner finally turned legal.  I went to jail every time I thought about him there for a while.

That is what I was afraid of, I still can't remember what movie I heard was coming out. So I will just be excited for the return of Beavis and Butthead on October 27th.

I almost got ahead of myself making this poll b/c The Hobbit:  There and Back Again is coming out NEXT December.  It almost made the list AND affected the title of this poll.  It will be my choice for next Christmas.

It's pretty good, even in spite of the Team Jacob eye candy (and I don't mean that in a bad way).

I had SUCH an attitude about Twilight for the longest time. Only my girlie girl friends were really into it and I thought the story sounded absolutely ridiculous, so there was no way in hell I was going to consider getting into that mess. Plus, the Twi-tards just make it undesirable.

Then I went back home for a friend's funeral and stayed with one of my best friends - who is even less girlie than I am. She told me that she really liked it and I should try it. I didn't read it right away - the movie came out and a bunch of the coasties my husband works with all said how it surprised them how much they liked it and my husband actually suggested going to see it. So, I opened my mind a little bit and gave it a shot. The movie wasn't spectacular but it was better than I thought. But then I did want to read the book because I'm silly like that if I watch a movie that's based on a book. Read it, and I was hooked. I still think the books are much better than the movies, but the movies are ok for mindless entertainment.

Have you read her book "The Host"? I read somewhere that that one was being considered for a movie too. I loved that book.

ME TOO! I can't wait. I'm glad you posted the date because I knew they were coming back but I didn't know the date.

Jess (who is a total non girly, like me - did I mention I fixed my own clogged drain yesterday with my own drain snake?) talked me into reading the Twilight series.  I really got into the books.  The movies are okay, not meant to be Oscar material (I don't  like many Oscar movies anyway) but my daughter absolutely loves them - she has marked it on the calendar and we will go to opening night.

The Host is good, but so is, The short second life of Bree Tanner.

That one made this non girlie girl weepy.

Ugh Twilight. I love RDJ so obviously, IN. And, I'll see the american version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo mainly for the comparison and because Daniel Craig is it.

Surprisingly,  I  got  into  the Twilight  Saga  out  of  curiosity  from  all  the  hype.  The  books  really  good,  better  than  the  movies, so  I'm glad  for  DVD.  I'll probably  wait  for  Breaking  Dawn  on  DVD  since  the  acting  leaves  a lot  to  be  desired.  Sherlock  Holmes  may  be  worth  seeing.
