Weaponry
OK, my buddies and I recently had a big debate about what weapon we'd bring back to the middle ages if given the choice.  We had a few rules - no jets/planes/helicopters and no tanks/humvees.  Basically anything that one could drive or fly.  Anything else was fair game.  It was fun to drink and argue this pointless debate...so much so that I'd love to hear more opinions.

So, what weapon would you bring back?

You said middle ages but I thought "middle earth" and am now picturing Frodo getting shot with an AR-16. (giggle fit...be back in a minute)

Something that holds a s**t-ton of rounds.  Where are you gonna find ammo back then?

We can bring our own right? We are gonna need a lot of rolling crates
And maybe some directions for the sweat shops that will need to be opened.

They weren't sweat shops back then.  Kids were expected to work.  I'd have toddlers producing ammo for me while the men and boys fought.

I'd bring back an AK-47 and show them who's boss, while I appoint myself the new King.

That's exactly what I went with.  Watching the Vietnam documentary on the History Channel is what spurned the conversation.  My buddies said I'd be a fool to not bring back a gun, but I disagreed.  Imagine the fear people from the middle ages would show at the sight of a giant stream of fire coming at them.  They'd think we were dragons.

Not just the fear factor alone, but also you could start one heck of a bonfire whenever one of those villages were going to bust open a couple of kegs and roast a pig or two.

Considering it was the Middle Ages, and they only had fire to see at night, I'd go with a compact strobe light, NVG's, a guille suit and my hunting knife ... and I guess a Kimber .45 with a silencer ... in case one of them actually got a good look at me in the night.

The best weapon is fear, and nothing makes people more afraid than the unknown!

Why are we going back to kill people from the Middle Ages again? They'd get the last laugh anyway when you die of bubonic plague.
