Filter Error 01/03 (Edited 01/03/12 10:12AM by kobe_lova)

Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

-This person in the sports bar told me to shut up cause at least the Giants made it to the playoffs without the wildcard... Mmmkay, because that's how it works and the Giants obviously aren't playing in a wildcard game this week, and I'm guessing they didn't just make the playoffs on Sunday night. Hmm...I learn so much in those bars. Filter Error 01/03 <span style="font-size:12px;">(Edited 01/03/12 10:12AM by kobe_lova)</span> Photo
-Watched 9 episodes of Person of Interest yesterday. Umm...Jim Caviezel... I knew the name but not much else. He's tall, looks great in a suit or just a dark button(ed) down shirt. I may have developed a character crush. Mmmhmmm.
-Nyce makes me so sick, but random sh** that comes up in conversations remind me of his greatness. His love of the secondary actor, specifically Ben Foster and Giovanni Ribisi in this case, is wonderful.
-What the hell are they doing to Ankur in India?!!
-Go Falcons!! Scott bot picked the Giants, I'm a little offended. And Saints fans can kiss my hot, buttery grits!
Be easy. <---Flashback.

It was inconclusive on the goal.. And the Avs PK is awful so taking penalties is always a stressful proposition. Good day of football yesterday And of course, the kicking woes of Stanford brought back up to me one of the 5 things that seem to always be on my mind in sports.. For the record they are:
1) Why top tier college programs can't find a reliable kicker, but there are always more than enough available at the pro level
2) In relation to #1, why there seem to be a lot of potentially good pro QBs every year in college, but there are no more than 10 reliable QBs in the NFL
3) There are so many kids that play basketball, 478 NCAA D-1 basketball teams, but there are only 30 good players in the NBA.. Plus they draw from Europe.. Why is that? In theory the NBA should be mind blowing.. But, instead you have the current product
4) How lazy or retarded are people who say they can't follow hockey on TV? Maybe the NHL should institute a laugh track over games.. Seems to work for CBS
5)Why does anybody care about steroids in baseball?  It's entertainment, like going to the movies or buying a book.  I personally want my athletes risking years of their life for my enjoyment. Bring on the HGH!!

*Oh, and the Broncos are actually hosting a playoff game.  In case you missed it, Jesus Jr. was 6/22 for 60 yards throwing the ball with a fumble lost and INT.. And the Broncos D didn't allow the Chiefs into Broncos territory after the first quarter.  Yeah, things are gonna work out great against the Steelers.  It's amazing how even a lot of the messiah's followers yesterday were saying, "you know what, maybe the Broncos should look at a QB in this year's draft"

Cheers to a happy 2012.  May your days be merry and bright and may all your mass murdering iraq vets be white

Hey everyone!

Enjoyed my last work day off yesterday until Jan 16th (MLK's Bday) by doing not much of anything exciting!

I'm here at work and overheard a conversation that had me shaking my head!  So, these 2 girls, probably 21-22 yrs old are talking and they are referencing something that happened 3 years ago and the one girls states it as 'back in the day".  HUH?!?!  What in the f**k are you talking about?!?!?  Back in the day?!?!?!  It was 3 mutha-f**king years ago. That is NOT "back in the day".   I just found another pet peeve of mine!  DAMN KIDS!

An MRI on Monday showed no further damage to Urlacher's knee. It is simply an MCL sprain!  Thank God!
As LBJONES stated, the BEARS fired their GM.
The COLTS also released POLIAN as their Vice Chairman!
NFL Playoffs start this weekend!  Still time to get in on my NFL PLAYOFF CHALLENGE!!!
Match ups are as follows:
SAT - CIN @ HOU & DET & NO
SUN - ATL @ NYG & PIT @ DEN

My bold predictions: HOU & NO win on Saturday and NYG & PIT win on Sunday!

After and emotional win on Friday against the Red Wings, the HAWKS lost to EDM 4-3.  Another poor officiated game!  But, I digress! The Hawks had 6 minutes of power play hockey in the final 10 minutes to do something and their power play was a power outage! UGH!

Nice chill in the air here today.  Beautiful day!  Except for:

Courthouse and State Attorneys office evacuated.  Bunch of people sick.  Hazmat is there.   White powder in the mailroom they say.
Six blocks from where I work.   IDK,  This happened before here in West Palm and it
was anthrax.   Nice.

Emergency crews shut off all the power.
So as a result, I picked up breakfast from IHOP.  They think I went to the Breakers.   Ha!!  Power came on just in time for
me to make lunch, and now I am out of here!

Happy New Year people,

George McCaskey just made Bear nation vewy vewy happy.  Hey Jerry, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!  The new GM has to do three things.  Draft or sign a #1 WR (VJax or Floyd IMO), sign a real LT, and sign or draft a safety that will stick longer than one year.

NYE was great.  My BIL's restaurant celebrated their 60th year, I drank too much, and all in all just had a great time.  The best part?  I wasn't even hungover on the 1st.  Boom!

The Hawks lost last night thanks to Car Bomb.  Did I call it or did I call it?  First game back last Friday vs the Wings and he was fighting by the 2nd period.  I love that part of his game, but his boarding call last night allowed the Oilers 2 goals during the 5 minute penalty.  Go back to Philly with that bullsh*t, Dannyboy.

Every bowl game was great yesterday for the most part.  How 'bout those Spartans?  17 TFL in a 33-30 OT thriller.  Good for Sparty.

Fv*k OSUe (lol - they lost to sorry a** UF).  Go VT tonight.

Last but not least, how badass is it that we purchased $23 tix for tomorrow night's Bulls/Pistons game in Detroit?  The $23 part isn't sweet, it's the fact that bandwagon Pistons fans don't show up.  Therefore, we fully expect to be sitting courtside.  I'm gonna get my Spike Lee on and heckle the Pistons best player.  The only problem?  I have no idea who that is anymore.  They're terrible.  I'm just gonna roll with Tayshaun.  That lanky bast*rd is going to hate this honky by night's end.

Have a great day and remember, 2010 Toyota Camrys govern out at 124.  Plan your trip accordingly.

I have 2 issues with that HAWKS game with regards to CARCILLO'S penalty.

1) If you look at the video and pause it at 6 seconds into the video, you will see that CARCILLO hit GILBERT from the side, which is not boarding! There is even an instant slow-mo and if you pause it at 55 seconds and again at 1:07, you'll see that it was a side hit.  If anything, it might be an interference call.  Even though you will hear Pat Foley state right away that it would be a suspension......I see it as a side hit and not a hit from behind.....at least, that's what I saw?!?!  > www.youtube.com/watch   I mean, it was a vicious hit and dangerous and Car-bomb has to be smarter, but, after looking at this thing a few times today, I don't see a boarding call??

2) During that 5 minute match penalty that Edmonton received, Hjarmalsson got high sticked In the face by Ryan Smith and no call was made....3 seconds later, EDM scored on that same side that Hjarmalsson was defending, but couldn't, to make it 2-1. > http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/hockey/nhl/gameflash/2012/01/02/28920_recap.html

None the less, the HAWKS were 0 for 5 on the power play and had 6 minutes of power play time, in the last 10 minutes of the game, to do something and didn't!  At least Jimmy Hayes got his first NHL goal!

Borderline call, no doubt, but Carcillo won't get those with his rep.  All the talking he does doesn't help either.  It's all good.  We needed a wakeup call.  The Oilers gave it to us last time as well.  We'll be fine.

Buenos Dias, $h*theads...

New year, same ol' Cactus Jack.  You F'ers are so lucky.

Lots of stuff happnin around th enetire planet, so bear with me.  Ashlie, you can stick to eating your crayons, or whatever.

Iran tells the US not to bring their candy a$$es back into the Persian Gulf.  The US had a Carrier Group in the region that was recently moved out, as Iranian geniussi swear it was cuz they scared us out.  One US Carrier group could wipe out your whole F**king country Akhbar, so STFU.

Dude kills a Forest ranger in Mt. Ranier and then dies of exposure.  What a f**king punk a$$ b*tch this guy was.  Rambo killed a whole g*d d*mn country, took out a police force, jumped from a zillion foot cliff, stitched up his own $h*t, then went on to make like 17 more movies.  Thats how its done!

Kowlifournyuh can rest a bit easier, after a serial arsonist was chunked in jail recently.  Some goofy f**kin German dude was lighting $h*t on fire faster than you can blink.  When he got busted, he has the nuts to say "I hate America".  I got an idea for ya, Hans...if you hate America, go the f**k away but leave our stuff alone you douchebag.

Finally, tonight is expected to provide us with a pretty little meteor shower, that could be the best of 2012.  The Quadrantid meteor shower is supposed to put on one heckuva show, just before dawn tomorrow.  Don't let nobody tell ya that Ol' Jack didn't give you fair warning...this is simply the beginning of the end.  Add it up, f**kers....it starts with a little meteor shower, and ends with the Mayan rock calendar clocking out the whole f**king planet.  Its kinda like an alarm clock, and we just keep hitting snooze.  Anyhow, it's a reminder that you lovely ladies are running outta time on posting those pictures!

No more fer you F'ers.

You've been edJACKated!

F IT! YOU suck it! .....and by it I mean something pimply and gross. Jerkhole!

I was a little torn last night when I learned the Avs were playing the Kings.  I couldn't remember ... is it bros before hos, or sisters before misters?  Or both?  Or whichever one applies?  It was maddening, I didn't know what to do!
So I said "f**k it" and went to bed.

Good day, bitches.

Sis - Scott picked the Giants because they're going to win.  So that clears that up.

i just got a new usb cable for my cell phone. which means fenton!!! will be my new ringtone....or the whistle music from the smiling bob enzyte commercials...or the "sorry guys, your're just too dang loud" huey lewis line from back to the future...or the windows 95 start up ringy dingy...or some samuel l saying "oh i'm sorry. did i break your concentration?" (superb text message tone i think)...oh jesus, the internet is my oyster. work productivity should be at an all time low today.

new year's eve was amazing. i know because i have a human bite mark on me and i am still aprehensive about looking at the pictures file on my phone.

lastly, apollo 18 was everything i imagined it would be and more.

Boarding doesn't have to be a hit from behind.. It's based on the player being hits' relation to on the ice to the boards..

It was inconclusive on the goal.. And the Avs PK is awful so taking penalties is always a stressful proposition. And as backup to my complaint, I point you to the Galiardi play where Brown high-sticked him from the bench and where Jarrett Stoll cross checked Erik Johnson (even though he's big and worthless) in front of the net to create a scoring chance..  But did you see how awful the Avs PP was? Maybe it was better they only got one chance.
Nonetheless, the Avs are lethal in a shootout and Milan Hejduk made Quick look silly
So between that and my womanfriend being one sexy son of a bitch, I'm walking on sunshine today, with no trip hazards.. Suck it

I have some thoughts on your questions:

1) Reliable kickers don't want to go to major programs because they want to kick FG's, not EP's.  For example, Oregon's kicker kicked a grand total of 11 FG this season.
2) Key word is "potentially", and NFL deals in "actuallity"
3) There are only 2-5 amazing players in D1 basketball.  Case in point, nobody wants to watch Creighton and Dusquense play because their players suck balls.
4) Personally, I don't watch much hockey because nobody plays hockey in Oregon... so I know next to nothing about it.  I do watch during the Olympics and Playoffs though.  Plus finding a game on basic TV here is like searching for the Holy Grail.
5) Totally agree, people love the long ball!!

Kings lost 2-1 in a shoot out to the Avs. I read "someone's" complaint about how the Kings were getting "Home-Cooked" calls-----oh boo Fn Hoo. The Kings powerplay is like 5% or some sh**. Your team got an even better "we love you and hate LA" call from Toronto in the first. A period.....the Kings have struggled to score in this season. Which affected the game more?  I hate Toronto. I mean why even make the call there, we all know what is going to happen. YOU ARE going to Fing disallow a good goal because the moron with orange floaties disallowed it on the ice. I use to be satisfied with the classic reasoning of, " There wasn't enough evidence to overrule the call on the ice." THAT was before I saw those MFers overrule the call for a game on 24/7 and the 10 different replays + the view right in front of my F'N seat. Stupid Jerkholes!

In other news, I go back to work today...............tired and a tad grumpy. The kids and I should have a grand time.

Have a good one. I hope that "someone" from above trips and falls and people are there to witness it.

I guess I have a problem with part of that rule since all of the announcers for the past 3 years have been talking about boarding in the same breath as hitting someone from behind, into the boards/glass.

I even heard Doc Emrich and the great Pat Foley, in the past, say something along the lines of, "if you would of made contact on the side of the player, it would of been a legal hit."  Thus the confusion.

I'm disappointed in myself for knowing what boarding is and not accurately stating it above!

This could probably go in onw of those things I learned polls, but anyways, I learned over the weekend that this logo is not for the Dollar General store

even my wife and her friend looked at me like I was a tard when I said I had never heard of Duce and Gabbana. Apparently they are some big deal in the fashion world.  If it doesn't  have Levi, Wrangler, Carhart, Wolverine or Armani on it, its definately not in my closet.

Congrats to the Cowboys for p***ing away another game when its counts, nothing like watching them go down in flames and last but not least I learned a new word that everyone can add to their vernacular......f**k knuckle. I have heard just about every variation I could think of to go along with f**k, but never that one.

Same with Ashlie. "Any old controller" are (just about) the exact same as current ones, so unless you were looking for a special shells for your favorite team like Woody showed above, I'm not sure what else is out there.

Yeah, I was gonna say that YOU WILL BE the controller, anyway.

I've never had luck with smaller universal controllers. They always mess up. It'll take a few weeks to adjust but you will. I'm so used to the bigger one now that I feel uncomfortable with the PS ones.

All 360 controllers "rumble". (Yes, I stole that from you, J, thanks)

And as far as the "mini" type, only thing I can think of is the MadCatz one (I think they're called 'microcons'.) They're available wired and wireless.
