Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Kinda busy. All of this is from last year's 1/26.

Okay, so first THANK YOU to my first two Q loves ever. There is a reason you're all special to me and shtuff. Way to pick up the slack unlike my extra douchey #1. One day I really am gonna quit him. Your awesomeness and his lack thereof has been duly noted.

In the 3-way tie yesterday, Brooklyn's Finest won because I saw Don Cheadle when I was scrolling through my choices. He's one of the best actors ever in my opinion, so I watched it. It was surprisingly good. I did not dig Ethan Hawke's role. The character was fine, I didnt like how he walked, dressed, his chest tattoo, or his hair...not how I want to see him, but whatever. I was all the way in once I saw "Chalky White." I didnt watch the Wire or Oz, whichever one he was on, but I love Scar whenever I see him. His scene with Cheadle toward the end was hilarious to me... instant quotes for me. I'd quote "Chalky", but don't want to go all "Spoiler Alert". I will say that I knew everything that was about to happen in that scene before they even said it, and that made me realize that I am so very different from all of you people that I talk to all day, but that's okay I guess, made me laugh though. I thought what if Jess and Leigh had grown up with me. Hilarious in my mind. I can't explain it.

Next, had to watch Kevin Hart after all of the Brooklyn drama. That too was surprisingly good. He's not always funny to me. The first 20 minutes and the last 20 are worth the price of admission. Solid B-.5.

Folks, my disappearance was due to my not having a regular job and feeling I had to be a more productive member of my family, so I finished my BS in Technical Management in December, and come Feb 12, DeeRigga will be working...

 I had a wild stretched weekend in Vegas, besides winning enough to pay for drinks and hotel, after the game I drunkingly decided to get a (temp) tattoo of a dollar $ign on my neck. Good thing I didn't take Nick's advice of betting on the 49ers and Ravens.

Sorry to Stoney about the Avs.  That breakaway for the third goal was sick tho.  I'll leave the Hawks/Preds talk to those concerned.

THANK GOD for the All-Star break.  No Toews, no Sharpie, BIG problems.  Ay yay yay....can Chicago sports fans catch a break?  Check out the list of players we've lost the last few months alone to injury.  Notice they are all stars or very close to being one.

On a more positive note, I dug President Obama's speech last night.  I HATE getting into politics on message boards, but I'll give credit where credit is due.  Nice plug he gave the auto industry.  I have many friends that are flocking back to Detroit due to the increase in not just auto jobs, but high-tech jobs.  Detroit made a blueprint on how to make a comeback.  Obviously not every city has something like the Big 3 to fall back on, but they showed it's possible.  

Speaking of Detroit, what a signing by the Tigers.  I'd be a little worried as a Tigers fan if Leyland plans on playing both guys on the infield, but their lineup (to go along with their pitching staff) will be something to see.  Also, my buddy sent me a youtube vid of Cecil and Prince from 1992.  Would you believe a double chizzleburger cost more back then?  It's true. 

NSD is exactly one week away.  Here is my second favorite recruit in Notre Dame's class, Tee Shepard.  He is the cousin of Deontay Greenberry (my favorite recruit from yesterday's F/E) and is hearing impaired.  Great story and fantastic player that I can't wait to see don the blue and gold.

I agree about the SOTU. Pretty sure he clinched my support once again with that one (ha....let's be real, my support never really left......though I have wanted to pinch him under the arm several times over the last 2 years), especially when he said this, 

‎"Teachers matter. So instead of bashing them, or defending the status quo, let's offer schools a deal. Give them the resources to keep good teachers on the job, and reward the best ones. In return, grant schools flexibility: To teach with creativity and passion; to stop teaching to the test; and to replace teachers who just aren't helping kids learn."   

and this made my heart smile.
 

Also............I think my political beliefs were released with a parent yesterday. Oh well. Sh*t happens! Next time he'll know what I don't want to hear after a long day of working with our future.

Amen.  Education needs to be hammered home in this country.  As someone with educators in my family, you guys will forever have my unwavering support.  This country needs to put a much bigger emphasis on education, especially at a young age.   

About the auto industry....(then I'll shut up about politics - promise).  It was very unpopular at the time to bail them out.  I'll admit I was on the fence big time.  But the AI helps form the backbone of this great country.  Well fast forward a few years....the money has been paid back and the industry is stronger now than at any point in the last 30 years.

 guys, my betta fish, cinq, is looking bad these days. i caught him napping on the floor of his bowl a few days ago and today he was swimming around on his side. i'm worried about him. please send good vibes his way.

this is just from memory (and not very well done, i'll admit), but this is what he looked like when i went to feed him.

but he loves those balls. and he snapped right to and gobbled em up. so that's a good thing.

 Morning beutiful people.
For some reason I am in a terrible good mood today and I like it. I don't know why I've feeliing a little bit blue these last days, but I'm Ok now. Just a Janet, I have a lot of things to do, I'm typing exams for some of my students, they'll be tested in the afternoon. I got back my car from the repair shop, yay! I'm not polluting anymore, the engine is fine, new tires and it's so clean, I hope to keep it that way at least one week, poor thing had dirt of any year you could ask

Random Thoughts....

1.  The President got re-elected last night.   If you haven't watched the speech i suggest you do so.  Plus some weird Godfather-esque Baptism scene type sh** went down.  As he was rocking the SOTU there was a SEAL hit squad castrating some Somali pirates to get back a couple of aid workers that had been kidnapped since October.  POTUS gave me a boner last night.

2.  No one in the office today is eye candy enough to make the next 12 hours fly by....so i think i nominate today T&A day in Filter. 

3.  The dentist appointment is set up for tomorrow at 3pm.  Meaning ill have just picked up the kid minutes prior to the appointment.  Meaning she will be with me.  Meaning...
a.  She'll get to see exactly how much of a p**sy her dad really is.
b.  I wont be able to get any of the good sh** for pain.
c.  I wont be able to flirt with the dental assistant that looks like Gwen Stephani.  Facepalm.

4.  Did i mention i only have six more days to work between now and March 1st?

Yeah, that black scribble doesnt look good at all. I think the end is near. MAYBE if you play leelo in front of him, and throw around some shockra's and bust out your 3rd eye, he might come back around. Its worth a shot anyway.

Put a mirror up against the tank so he/she/it can see him/her/itself. It will want to kick the 'other' fish's arse. Maybe a shot of adrenaline might bring it back around. That, or drop a couple of goldfish in there. If you wake up the next day, and betta is swimming around and there are two goldfish heads on the bottom of the tank, the betta is fine. I'm sending huge good vibes towards the little dude even as I type this, promise.

Stupid Avs.. They play a really good game Sunday in Anaheim, outshoot the like 45-20 and lose thanks to 3 bad plays.. Last night, they come out and look like dogs**t, but hang around, and again, a stupid play leading to a breakaway cost them the game.  Ugh.. It's had me cranky all last night and this morning.  I'm wishing the Avs would shop defenseman Erik Johnson at the trade deadline.  Dude is absolutely worthless, but the coaches keep throwing him out there with loads of responsibility.

So after that mess, I needed a pick me up.  Attack the Block came through and made my night.  Fun, funny, well written and acted for a small movie.. All around VERY enjoyable

I love me some celebrity gossip, but only the kind that is personal, vicious, and/or does anything to tickle my inner schadenfreude.
So this whole attempt by the gossip world to find out who is Khloe Kardashian's real father is making me smile.  A) The fact that everyone is finally just admitting, no matter what the family says, that she is not from the same bloodline as the two good looking sisters. B) All I can wonder is whether Khloe recognizes this fact for herself, or if the whole situation is tearing at her psychologically.  God I hope it is

The Rockies have made a lot of moves this winter.. A LOT of moves this winter.  I like the Michael Cuddyer signing, even though they overpaid.  I like the Marco Scutaro deal the other day as he is the best option at second base over anything they have on the roster right now.  The thing I don't understand is the 34 pitchers the Rockies have acquired and how Dan O'Dowd, the GM is saying they will have a "raging competition" for rotation spots like it's a good thing.  Yeah, nothing like bringing in a dozen 4th and 5th starters when you don't even have a legitimate #2 starter let alone an ace.  The Rockies may be the Rockies of old this year.  They should score a lot of runs, and they're gonna have to because their only pitching strength is the back end of the bullpen.
(PS, I hated the trade of Seth Smith to the A's.  I hope he has a killer year given the opportunity to start every day.  A's fans should love him)

1.  The President got re-elected last night.   If you haven't watched the speech i suggest you do so.  Plus some weird Godfather-esque Baptism scene type sh** went down.  As he was rocking the SOTU there was a SEAL hit squad castrating some Somali pirates to get back a couple of aid workers that had been kidnapped since October.  POTUS gave me a boner last night.

2.  No one in the office today is eye candy enough to make the next 12 hours fly by....so i think i nominate today T&A day in Filter. 

3.  The dentist appointment is set up for tomorrow at 3pm.  Meaning ill have just picked up the kid minutes prior to the appointment.  Meaning she will be with me.  Meaning...
a.  She'll get to see exactly how much of a p**sy her dad really is.
b.  I wont be able to get any of the good sh** for pain.
c.  I wont be able to flirt with the dental assistant that looks like Gwen Stephani.  Facepalm.

4.  Did i mention i only have six more days to work between now and March 1st?

B) All I can wonder is whether Khloe recognizes this fact for herself, or if the whole situation is tearing at her psychologically.  God I hope it is

The Rockies have made a lot of moves this winter.. A LOT of moves this winter.  I like the Michael Cuddyer signing, even though they overpaid.  I like the Marco Scutaro deal the other day as he is the best option at second base over anything they have on the roster right now.  The thing I don't understand is the 34 pitchers the Rockies have acquired and how Dan O'Dowd, the GM is saying they will have a "raging competition" for rotation spots like it's a good thing.  Yeah, nothing like bringing in a dozen 4th and 5th starters when you don't even have a legitimate #2 starter let alone an ace.  The Rockies may be the Rockies of old this year.  They should score a lot of runs, and they're gonna have to because their only pitching strength is the back end of the bullpen.
(PS, I hated the trade of Seth Smith to the A's.  I hope he has a killer year given the opportunity to start every day.  A's fans should love him)
Don't feel too bad - my Ducks got shutout by the Stars..even though they outshot them 27-16. I hate the Stars. Hate them. HATE HATE HATE HATE them. Worse than my hate for the Steelers. Ugh. To make matters worse, not only did the Ducks outshoot the Stars, but a lot of those shots were great scoring chances. Effin Lehtonen. Jerk. I hate him the most right now.

Oh well. All Star weekend, here we come - my favorite weekend in sports!

 Sorry Michael - I don't make the rules...I just have to enforce them. We pretty much go along with what's allowed on network television, which has been the general "rule of thumb" around here since day one....and that stuff is not on network television unless it's prime time and rated TV-14 (which is obviously above a PG-13 rating). It's pretty clear in the Code of Conduct that drug references (even if it's with a cat) aren't allowed.

 So I get to work this morning, and the light indicating I have a voicemail is on. OK, fine. It turns out I had 12 new messages. OK, that's weird. The first is from some guy, who claimed to be my friend, even though I didn't recognize the voice at all. Well, this guy starts the message by talking about getting a sex change, and would I do him if he were a woman. There was also something about how he's going to get his breast sized the highest letter of the alphabet he could. After that, he started rambling about nothing til he "got another call." After informing our security officer (who didn't think it was anything, but wanted it documented in case in happens again), I went and listened to the other 11 messages (our phones don't let you delete messages until they are heard). They weren't sexual, but just as incoherent and rambling. While it was probably a very odd prank call that just happened to dial my work number, it was quite the bizarre way to start the day. Easily the weirdest thing that's happened to me at work.

 Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

Our lovely school district is in the local news again today.  A couple different related stories.   First, a local group filed a lawsuit to void out construction contracts involving our wonderful board members that have bribery charges against them.

The other story, an even more ridiculous than some of the others, the board members being charged have asked the district to cover their legal defense fees.   3 of them (2 current, 1 former) have asked for $400,000 each, and $100,000 for the 4th.  (This one hasn't been charged with anything, but has worked with the D.A. on the case)  Yeppers, these nuts illegally took bribes in exchange for their (My vote is not for sale) votes on construction contracts, and now they want the district (which has been having trouble budgeting, you know, school stuff for the children) to pay $ 1.3 million for their defense.  Are they Nuts???

Cr*p, that;s what they're going for...the insanity pleas.    And apparently, this issue (their legal defense) has made it onto the agenda for the upcoming board meeting.    So we get to watch them discuss and vote for this.

Went to the doc today about the blood pressure.  He said I am so healthy it's sickening.  Talked to him about the stress at work, he suggested that what I am doing is the best thing to do.  He doesn't want to put me on any medication if he doesn't have to because I have become so good at treating my problems with vitamins and natural remedies.  I asked him about starting PGX and he gave me an enthusiastic thumbs up, so I start it tomorrow morning.  And he said my blood pressure is reacting to external challenges (the stalker at work) and the PGX will help that, so onwards and upwards. 

It's really windy today.  All the snow is blowing over into Alberta.  We still have less than a foot of snow which is unheard of at this time of year.  I still think we are gone gonna get hell in winter form before the spring starts.

And finally, welcome back Dee, in case you haven't realised it yet, all us Qers have missed you a helluva lot!!!!!

I thought I had typed her name already! But it all started to run together, I guess, and I typed John Ritter before Dash, idk what happened. Anyway, His episode was great. And to be her age, and still look like that is bad.ass.
