Tuesday Bluesday, people.....

So it's supposed to reach a high of 60 today.  In February.  What the hell?  Maybe that Al Gore is on to something with his global warming argument.  Last year at this time we were preparing for the worst blizzard of the last decade.  Seriously though....this is some wacky weather.  I just hope the mild winter weather isn't a sign that we're in store for another brutal summer.

D Rose and the Bulls bounced back last night by beating the lowly Wizards for like the 9th straight time.  However, the play of the night was Blake Griffin making Kendrick Perkins look like the stuntman for John Lucas III.   Dunk of the year so far, no doubt.

Does anyone have any quick and off the beaten path ideas for a Super Bowl dish to pass?  Every year I bring queso dip or wings and it's gotten a bit stale.  I want to spice things up this year.  Hoping Sid or someone else can help a brotha out and recommend something delicious.

Hawks start a nine game road trip tonight against the Sedin sisters in Van City.  Toews is set to return, but Sharpie is iffy.  Hopefully we start things out on the right foot coming out of the break.

Speaking of break, this guy should stop breaking the law.  Dude looks higher than the entire cast of Half Baked combined.

Two for Tuesday.  But two of what...?

I can't make a choice.  Options are....

I did see the Griffin dunk.  It was pretty nasty.  But here is my question:  Is the Dunk overrated?  I mean something like that is not, just because of the height and ferociousness, but in general?  i look at 80% of top play dunks and go "Didn't somebody do that same thing the last 3 days?"  Enough pumpkin pounding talk because...

NHL IS BACK TONIGHT.  Yes there was the All-Star game which I thoroughly enjoyed, but the Canes haven't played since last Monday  and only a Canes rookie made it to the All-Star festivities.  I need Canes hockey, and tonight is it.

I got this as a belated Birthday Present:

Morning!  Warm hug from Mexico.
Slow Tuesday, not much to do or say, at least nothing interesting. Had my coffee and finished  to eat a dessert I started last nigh, but it was huuuge and has had whipped cream and jelly in industrial amounts, so having nothing to do I googled that:

Mixing Caffeine and Sugar

The effects of combining sugar and caffeine are devastating on the body. The blood glucose levels soar and then crash shortly thereafter, and when combined with caffeine, the enormous surge of energy from the sugar and the stimulant in caffeine lead to a crash of blood sugar within hours. The body then resorts to a vicious cycle of cravings. The swings that the two in conjunction cause create a desire for more carbohydrates than are actually needed. Over time, the craving results in an enormous imbalance in blood glucose levels.

Dunking is overrated in my opinion.  Not the highlight stuff like last night, but the majority of dunks are run of the mill variety.  I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and Greeny said something like "Griffin is third in the league in dunks this year with 48."  I thought to myself "really?  what a worthless stat."

Morning.

A late night combined with an 8am doctor's appointment didn't mesh well. Add to that feeling physically sick, and it's a pretty sh**ty morning so far.

Have to do laundry today, but first I need to get quarters, but first I want to nap.

George Clooney 2 hour Inside the Actors Studio is tonight. Can't not be a fan of his. And I don't think I've seen a new ITAS in years.

Also (thanks to my DVR telling me) Tosh.0 is back tonight. Awesome.

Meet Shawn Payton:

Shawn is a Detroit Lions fan who was not too happy with how the Lions/Saints playoff game was going.

"Hi, I want you to relay a message to the sideline, if your stupid Southern team keeps winning, there will be reper… severe consequences, OK?" Payton, 34, told a Superdome employee, according to court records.

During a second call, the caller threatened: "I will blow up your building."

According to court records, investigators traced the calls to Payton. He expressed regret during a phone interview Monday and worried about losing his cooking job at McDonald's.

"I feel bad for making some stupid phone calls," he said.

Oh, Shawn...

I don't disagree, but Stern and the NBA refs aren't going to call that.  Highlight reel dunks = higher ratings

How easy is the spinach and artichoke dip?  Never made such a thing, but I'm a decent cook.

As for the Super Bowl, agreed.  But I stopped getting drunk the year the Bears lost.  Can't remember the name of the bar in LP where we watched the game, but they had just opened and didn't have their liquor license yet.  Therefore, it was BYOB.  Let's just say our group had enough booze to last an entire weekend....and we finished it.  Saw a guy I went to college with (his grandfather invented the Twinkie - fun fact) passed out standing up.  That's what it looked like at least.  I'll usually have about 4-5 brews during the first half and call it good.

 Morning.

They played that dunk on all the news channels here. It was pretty impressive. I loved the fact that it happened against that Perkins guy. However impressive that dunk may have been, I  was more impressed by his teammate's tight squeeze. He was very excited for his blinger (this word created by Stoney) friend. That was sweet.

Little factoid of the day----------- A female donkey is called a Jennet or Jenny.

Enjoy this beautiful Tuesday (well....it is here). Remember to wear sunscreen.

As for the Super Bowl, even if one doesn't drink, by the time the game is over and you get home, it's around 11pm or later and then it's hard to fall asleep right away due to the stimulation from all of the conversations and things going on.....ya know??

Here is the recipe for that Spinach & Artichoke Dip

Buy;

> cooking spray ( I use Olive Oil or Canola Oil spray)
> 1 frozen box of spinach - let thaw before using
> 2 large cans (14 oz) of Artichoke hearts - I usually get the halves
> 1 garlic clove (you need a garlic press, otherwise, buy the minced garlic in a jar) - I tend to use the biggest clove I can find in the bulb but that's because I  garlic!
> Parmasan cheese - see if you can find the grated kind that comes in the plastic tub. Otherwise, you can get a block and grate it yourself
> 8oz Sour Cream
> Mayonnaise
> Salt and Pepper

It'll take you about 5 mins to prep and 30 minutes to bake

So, what I do is pre-heat stove to 375,
drain the thawed spinach and place in a large bowl.
Add the garlic, either garlic press the clove or if you are using minced garlic, add a teaspoon or as much as you desire.
Drain the juice from the Artichoke hearts and then add to bowl
1 cup of Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup of sour cream
3/4  cup mayonnaise
Add salt and pepper (your desire)
Mix

In a casserole dish ( I use the 11X9 size), spray with Cooking spray
Then add your mixture
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes

one, two, freddy's coming for you...

Good Morning, Everybodee!

Well, I wasn't able to make it to the school board meeting last night after picking daughter up from practice, but looking at the news this morning, I very well could've.  Apparently the meeting lasted 7 hours.   More than 700 people attended, and knowing the area, with no large parking lot at the school, and it is surrounded by residential area, I might have been able to park half a mile away.

Well, the request for the district to pay legal fees for some of the board members was turned down.  And a long anticipated report into some PR firm's billings was released, showing that there was some influencing of some recent board elections going on.   Well, I don't think these board members will get reelected, or even possibly make it to the next election, if there is enough of a push for a recall.   D*mn, I need to make another run to Costco for popcorn and snacks to enjoy watching all this.

Last day of the month, my last day of 4 days off in a row, and I go back to 9 hour days tomorrow, until Sunday.  Just because I had planned to get all the s**t done today that I won't have time for the rest of the week, ie: water card, groceries, butcher store stock up, parts for the water tank, insurance for my truck, etc. etc. etc. my hubby's paycheque won't be ready until tomorrow.  Even though *I* submitted his time for the month of January well in advance of the end of the month, the accountant who does the payroll decided it could wait.  They sent out a two page letter at the end of December telling us when the time had to be submitted, and when payday would be, and the very first f**king month after they break their own f**king rules.  F**K!!!!

I do meet with the teacher who tested my daughter today.  I'm a little nervous.  Mostly because since she injured her shoulder and collar bone in gym class and has been ordered to stay out of said class until mid-March at the earliest, her teacher has not spoken to me, and will not make eye contact.  She is expected to be at the meeting.  Oh joy.

He She should have that mole checked.

A few things.
1 - I don't think they should ever move the Super Bowl to a Saturday. Football Sunday is iconic. Even though there are games on Monday and sometimes Saturday and Thursday...it's "Football Sunday". Super Bowl on a Saturday would be plain silly. It's Corporate America that needs to change and make Monday a red letter holiday in observance of Super Bowl Sunday.

2 - Mila Kunis is so hot. She's ma favorite.

3 - I still have a migraine. Day 3.

4 - Pinterest is just plain evil. But it's fun.

5 - We play that game too - and it doesn't matter if you're male or female. You look, you get punched. Someone looks, you get to punch them.

6 - The reason Dance Central is the best dance game EVAR is because it's made by the creators of Rock Band. Duh.

Have a great day!

Another thing I need to get off my chest.  Apparently I have issues because I love "Finding Bigfoot."  I realize it's pretty much the most retarded show in the history of television, but I can't help myself.  When they set up shop and say things like "it's squatchy as hell out here" and "was that a sasquatch? sure as hell sounded like one, but I think it was an elk, " I lose it.  Sorry, but that sh*t is funny.

In short, do I have mental problems because I watch the show?

TIA

The link to that song is showing up as a blank screen on my end (shrug)

EA SPORTS NHL 12 predicts that the Blackhawks will beat the Canucks tonight 4-2 with Toews scoring a third period hat trick.

I crack up at this shiiiii  but it's fun to see how accurate or close they can get at times! The year (2010) the Hawks won the Cup, EA SPORTS predicted it would be Chicago vs Boston for the Cup with Chicago winning......well, they got 2 out of the 3 correct.

They were just a year early on Boston making the Finals.  I would love to see that series happen.  I have quite a few buddies in Beantown and it would give me a reason to talk sh*t and perhaps even travel there for a game.

Not sure why the song didn't link.  Does this work?

I love it too, but my wife thinks its one of the dumbest shows ever. I especially like when they interview towns folk who had a run in with a bigfoot. "we was a standing right here when something threw a tree at us and we turned around and there it was staring at us."  You can always tell who is full of sh**.

If you ever get a chance to catch "Call of the Wildman", you have to watch it. According to Mrs.mojo that IS the dumbest sh** on TV. Dude rescues critters and sets them free and its set in Kentucky or Tenneessee. That thar is some good TV watching now.

You kiddin me?  I've been watching Call of the Wildman since he was a youtube sensation.  "ay yay yay yay yay yay yay!!!!!!!"

The townie interviews are always gold.  I like the woman that swore up and down she was a mere inches from a squatch (next to her garden).  Even the guys on the show were even laughing at her (and calling her FOS).

Some great lines from the show....

"There's nothing like the smell of fresh squatch in the morning."

"Dude, that sounds squatchy."

"We came, we squatched, we recorded."

"Technology is finally catching up with the sasquatch."

Funny how we're idiots for watching these types of shows, yet it's OK for the women to surf printrest or whatever the hell it's called for hours on end.  Am I right or am I right?

I've been into Cryptozoology for about 20 years or so now and i have even been to a couple of Bigfoot conferences and i watch every episode too because its f'n funny lol .   I mean when one of em says esp Bobo or Matt Moneymaker "That's a Squatch"  i laugh for a solid 3-4 minutes and well i may have issues too cause it never gets old and i laugh every time.

I mean anyone who has been in woods hunting even and not even looking for a creature who avoids human contact like the plague (supposedly) knows you can't be out there yelling like a f'n idiot and making "Squatch Calls" -  WTF who even knows what a Squatch sounds like.

I mean it def is not a "scientific" type of show and whether u believe in the possibility of Bigfoot existing or not this show is just terrible , yet its so terrible that its ratings are actually extremely good showing how much people really do like crappy TV !
