Hey Good Looking!.. Whatcha Got Cooking? (Edited 03/03/12 01:57PM by sports_schmorts)
Hey Good Looking!.. Whatcha Got Cooking? (Edited 03/03/12 01:57PM by sports_schmorts) Photo

I thought it would be fun to see dishes we like to cook. It can be any food item of your choice. It can be shown still cooking or already on a plate ready to eat. Let's have fun with this and start taking random shots of items cooking but don't be surprised if your asked for the recipe. This is a pan of Fried Potatoes with Bacon and Onions still cooking. It's one of my fav's to have with many different meats. Hey Good Looking!.. Whatcha Got Cooking? (Edited 03/03/12 01:57PM by sports_schmorts) Photo

I make the best lasagna you ever tasted. I call it "Stouffers" Its pretty easy to make:

Go to store
Buy it
Put it in over for 1 hour 20 minutes.
Serve.

I realize that I said "over" instead of "oven". I'm not fixing it, you all know I can spell oven, and its just a typo.

Tonight I made shredded beef enchiladas:

and Red Velvet cupcakes. My frosting wasn't fancy, even though I got a fancy icing bag. Maybe if the recipe would have specified that if I was using a stand mixer that I might not want to use softened cream cheese (like the recipe asked for); that I should leave it in the fridge until I use it, they would have turned out like I wanted. Stupid runny cream cheese frosting. Made me mad.

What they're supposed to look like:

My little failures:

At least they were tasty.

I make delicious lasagna from scratch. I can't wait to try it with fresh homemade pasta.

I actually have had Stouffer's - that's what my husband's mother serves us when she "cooks".

It's passable, but if I'm waiting that long for a lasagna, I'd just rather make it myself...because mine is fantastic.

Well, I had a huge salad hubby brought home. It was wonderful! lol Linda, those potatoes look awesome! I've made them with onion but got to try bacon with it next time :)

Smart, but you need to add cheese.

P.S. I think we have had this conversation. Everyone thinks their lasagne is the best. Ive tasted homemade lasagne that was gross. I adore Stouffer's mainly because I don't have to make it. Fight on!

P.S. one more time, I've only made a lasagne once, but I swear it's so good, that if I sent it to you, you'd move to Atlanta. I don't always cook, but when I do, I rock that sh**.

Nobody can mess with my homemade pizzas. The key is using crust from my homeboy's bakery in Beantown, Bova Bakery. I throw on my special sauce, a little bit of chizzle, sausage, shrooms, onions, jalapenos, green peppers, and more chizzle. Top it off with some garlic and crushed red peppers. Toss it in the over for about 17-20 minutes and boom, dinner!

this is my amazing quiche i was geeking out about in another poll last week. i hadn't done it yet in this picture, but i drizzle a little melted butter along the rice crispy crust and it turns into a layer of buttery, bready goodness.

and this is my fake fry cod and spinach. it's also done with rice crispies. those things make s**t delicious.

Judy if you make them just remember to fry up the bacon first and set it aside. Use the bacon grease to fry your potatoes and onions in, then crumble your bacon as the last step just before serving. :)

I can't do it now. it only swells in my mouth and I have to spit it out. But i can do the neckbones and potatoes, chittlerings, pork chops smothered in brown gravy with biscuits, baked turkey legs or turkey wings smothered in onions and bellpepper., Fried Catfish with Fried Potatoes, and coleslaw with hushpuppies. Sometimes a side of Deep Fried Onion Rings and Deep Fried Dill Pickles!!! Let me STOP!!!!! Ya'll have taken me too far back. I was Country Before Country Was Cool !!!!! Once we got past this comment ( I ate squirrel, rabbit, and frog legs) I was with yah 100% All the rest sounds amazingly good. Let's not forget green beans cooked with fat back, My former inlaws were from Harlan Co. Kentucky and my mother in law would make mashed potatoe salad. That's one recipe I still cook a few times a year. And fried cabbage and Steak with Red eyed gravy. MMMM I gotta stop I'm starving...LOL
