7 days of no showers, sh**ting in holes, snakes and sun.....sounds like fun to me. (Edited 03/03/12 08:01PM by sports_schmorts)
So I was talking with a new friend today. We got to discussing that she is 2 years away from her 30th birthday. I laughed and pointed out that I am closer to 40 than I am to 30. She asked me if I was going to do anything special for my 40th birthday.

After thinking about it, I realized that despite living in AZ for almost 33 years now. Having seen the Grand Canyon more times than any human should. I would still like to take a rafting trip down the canyon. In fact, that may be just what I do in late spring/early summer of 2105, to celebrate my 40th birthday.

So my questions are simple, is there something you have always wanted to do? Would you want to do it for a "milestone" birthday? Would you want your family/friends to accompany you?

I went tubing down the Salt River back in '92!

A buddy of mine was living in Chandler, AZ and a bunch of us went out there to visit him!  It was a f**king blast!!!  And, we saw a fight, in the river!  I shiiii you not!  Two drunk crotch monkeys got out of their tubes and were fighting all the while the current is dragging them down the river!  It was the funniest shiiii  I've ever seen!

I've never been to Vegas, so, I'd probably would want to go there for one of my Birthdays?!?!

Wait two drunk/high Phoenix rednecks got in a fight in the Salt River? Must have been a Wednesday, I haven't tubbed the Salt River since 2000. But the last time I did, it was like being in 1986 all over again. Rafting the Colorado is slightly more exciting than tubbing down the Salt River. Maybe not more entertaining but more exciting.

You definitely need to go to Vegas, and a Birthday is a perfect excuse reason.

My friends and I refer to tubbing the Salt River as doing the 3M's(mullets, m@riju@n@ and metal).

RE: the title of this poll...it sounds like Nirvana. And I'm sure, after 7 days, that smell will not be teen spirit.

Seriously, birthdays are just another day to me...age is just another number. But if Nick wants a wing-man in Vegas, I'm available.

My birthday is two days before Xmas so it'd be tough convincing anyone to come along, but I'd love to have a ski outing to Whistler-Blackcomb.  From 1999-2003, my ski buddies and I ventured westward to a new destination each year.  Started at Big Sky (MT), then Alta (UT), Keystone (CO), Jackson Hole (WY), and finally W-B (BC).  Whistler was so freaking bada*s.  Vancouver is also a city I'd love to check out more.  We spent a night there and it wasn't nearly enough.  For my money, there isn't a more beautiful place on earth than British Columbia.  They have good giggle grass too.....or so I've heard.  cool

When I saw the title, I thought this was about Survivor, then I saw who created it.

Also, you won't be 40 until the year of our lord, "2105"? F***, you're awesome.

And as much as I love birthdays, I never really go out of my way to celebrate my own. Next milestone is 35, and I just don't care.

P.S. I hate how 31, 32, 33, and 34 all sound. Ugh.

Wait...........................going to check the calendar.

Nope.....it was a Saturday!  It was Memorial Day weekend that year, I remember that much because that's when the River opened for tubing.  We did the 3 hour trip.  Parked, took the yellow bus to the 3 hour stop.....tied our tubes together (insert joke here) along with a cooler in it's own tube, in the middle of all of our tubes.....good times!

Rafting is much more fun and more adventurous, but, back then, we were of the "laid back" variety and enjoyed the nice slow pace of the current, the hot sun, some brews, some glucose medication and some hot babes!  smiley

Shiiiiii, sounds more like a story Spicoli would of told (haha)
