Comments about lushes and racist comments.. Ahh, the true heart of the Q

Usually I take the day off.  Denver does St. Patty's Day in style every year.  There's a huge party right outside Coors Field with Irish singers, dance troops, etc..  One of the radio stations puts on a concert called Kegs and Eggs at a bar called Lodo's that starts at 6am.  I always wear green and prefer to stick to the black stuff instead of green beer.

This year however, I will be in Virginia Beach during St. Patty's weekend partying it up with my brother and sister in law

It's hard enough to find a virgin these days, much less one from Russia! I bet you get a lot of looks, because frankly, I've never seen any blacks from Eastern Europe, myself. wink

It's just another excuse for the "lushes" to drink
I'm Irish and we / I....

I'll have a few beers if I'm not working. I don't like to typically go out on nights like this because this is when the 'amatuers' are out, and they're the ones drinking and driving mostly.
When I was a kid, we would to to the hockey games and I'd love to see the green ice, and my dad would have a green beer.

Here in Chicago, we used to have a HUGE ST.PAT's day parade on the south side of Chicago.  In a small suburb, just outside of Chicago (Oak Park) they had/have a ST. PATTY'S tradition where all of the bars would have an annual Pub Crawl.....it was sooo much fun! Did it for 4 years straight.

Then, 3 years ago, they cancelled that due to the crowds getting to rowdy and drunk, but rumor has it that it may start up again this year.

Downtown Chicago always has a parade and they dye the river green.....never went to that one.

In general, I never wear green and as far as green beer goes.....it doesn't matter.....if it's the brand I drink, color doesn't matter.
Enjoy your holiday I'm outta here.

That must take a tremendous amount of food coloring to do a river....lol. I agree with the green beer as long as it's my brand however, after a few they turn your tongue green...LOL

Not true at all, you don't have to be Irish descended to be at one of their pubs. Of course those bars usually play s**tty celtic music, so that would keep anyone non-Irish away.

The South Side Parade is back......and not better than ever.  Too bad the drunkards ruined it for everyone.  It's now 100%  family friendly with a zero-tolerance alcohol policy in place.

We usually start out in LP (Duffy's) for a good grub base and migrate from neighborhood to neighborhood.  Look for me in my green Derrick Rose jersey gettin' jiggy with it.

Considering you're smart enough to get e-accepted at Michigan, you should be smart enough to do that.

Miami University in nearby Oxford, OH, has the same tradition. The news talks about it for a week before every year about the preparations and it's reported like Mardi Gras, New Year's Eve & Tax Day all rolled into one! I'm sure if it got LESS attention, there would be LESS rowdiness.

My buddies and I discussed this ad nauseum the other night.  We assumed the fuzz didn't want the hassle once they saw the camera too.

1 - copy the URL of the webpage you'd like to hyperlink.

ie - say you wanted to link the Chicago Tribune homepage.  You would copy "http://www.chicagotribune.com/"

2 - Select and highlight the word you want to link the webpage to.

ie Read this article about........

3 - Click the circled button in the picture below (it's just above your message box).

4 - Once you've highlighted the word and clicked the "hyperlink" option, you simply paste the URL (for our example, we used www.chicagotribune.com).

5 - Read this article about........

Hope this helps!

I always wear something green...shirt, earrings, necklace, a pin.  I have Irish ancestors so I say I have a little Irish blood wink If I forget and don't wear green and someone wants to pinch me, I say "Hold up!  I got green eyes!" lol  We usually cook cabbage and polska kielbaska (my spelling sucks this morning, lol)

Bars here have green beer, usually have little plastic Irish hats and all decorated for St. Paddy's day.  I'm like you Linda...can't do the all day drinking anymore. In the words of  (Danny Glover) Capt. M (can't spell it, lol) and (Mel Gibson) Captain Riggs in Lethal Weapon 4 - "We're too old for this s***"  LMAO

Volunteering with the band (as usual) as they are marching in a parade that day.    One of the saxophone players (who is the shortest in the band) has been volunteered to be dressed as a leprechaun for the duration.   (Was too cute, she whined no, saying "I've been good.")
