Two AL Eastern Backstops Eras Are Now Complete (Edited 02/28/12 10:08AM by TatsuKlinga2812812)

For One and a half decades former catcher Jorge Posada has manned the pitching staff of the New York Yankees. Posada has 5 World Series, 5 time all-star, 5 time silver slugger and even has caught a perfect game.

For One and a half decades former catcher Jason Varitek has manned the pitching staff of the Boston Red Sox. Varitek has 2 World Series, 3 Time All Star, 1 Silver Slugger, and even and gold glove. He also has a few no hitters under his belt.

Who in your mind had the better career in the North East if you had a vote for an Hall of Famer out of the two who would you vote for?

Kinda weird how you mentioned that Posada caught a perfect game, but neglected to mention Varitek caught 4 no-hitters.

Also, I wouldn't vote for either of them for the Hall of Fame. Neither even deserves more than 2 minutes of discussion.

I can't mention everything.

They deserve conversation Posada def does he has good offensive numbers and wasn't that bad of a catcher that people make him out to be.

Though I don't think either one of them will get in it just a question anyways.

That was random... but Ellsbury was an MVP candidate last year, so I guess you look pretty stupid saying something like that.

Neither may ever be in Cooperstown, however both meant a great deal to their respective clubs over the years and should have their numbers retired by their respective clubs.

Can't answer the poll question as they are set up but will answer here.

Of the two mentioned Posada was the superior catcher.

Neither are Hall of Famers even by the extremely low standard held by many of BBWA members.
