Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Happy Sadie Hawkins Day. Who ya taking to the dance? Who do you want to ask you?

Be gentle

First, and no one will be first on the 29th for another 4 years, so this is pretty exciting.

Good Morning, Everybodee!

Another day in paradise.  Here I sit at my work desk.  So much better then sitting in a courthouse waiting for something to happen.  Anything, but another delay.

According to TMZ, Dustin "Pancakes" Penner's (LA Kings player) wife filed for divorce yesterday.......ON NATIONAL PANCAKES DAY. Makes me question the "pancakes" she made him that took out his back. Hmmmmm hhmmmm... #pancakebitch (little tidbit of gossip....she was formerly married to another hockey player....the one who almost died after taking a skate blade to the neck. Remember that? )

Speaking of Penner, he's playing pretty well right now. Maybe it WAS her. Oh....and the Kings won last night....4-0. Is it too late for them? I don't know, but I want a winning streak. Starting NOW.

OK...now who am I taking to the dance? duhh....I'm taking the rockstar of the group-----BEANS.

Later. Remember ----Purell is YOUR friend.

My move is under way!  Actually, I've been slowly moving the smaller stuff over as of last weekend.

It's a bittersweet day.  Sad to be leaving my Condo and investment but happy for a new start in a newer townhome and nicer neighborhood, even though it is only 4 blocks away from where I currently live.

Wonder how many drinks JD had at the BULLS game last night???  Man, that was scary!  It was bad enough that they lost at home to NJ last week, but to almost lose again to Nawlins???  No disrespect, but, NJ and NO are not very good teams and for the BULLS to be an elite team, they have to take care of these teams, especially at home. Oh well,  a win is a win!

I love these funny text messages!  Here is a another doozy;

Thought this picture was cook enough to share with all of you.

Enjoy your day!

What's up Sklones

My hockey team lost in the championship of the Avs tournament last night 4-3 in a shootout.  It's nice how rules don't apply in the tournament as the team we played (who we beat 11-3 on Saturday) dropped 4 guys and picked up 4 guys who played college and/or junior hockey for this game and the guy running the tournament allowed it.  So no suite for the Oilers game a week from Saturday.. F**k
Did run into Danilo Gallinari and Birdman outside the Nuggets locker room last night, so that was cool.. As was the parade of whores wandering around the underbelly of the Pepsi Center.  There was the mile high dreams gala being held at the Can last night "a toast to our teams".

League hockey right after work tonight.. I so just want to go home at a normal hour and take a nap

I still need to write my NL West preview for Kramer.. Supposed to have it done tomorrow.   Not looking promising

I have work to do, peace

Good day, bitches.

I was going to invite Stoney to the dance, but he's holding out for Bar, apparently.  Now I can't invite anyone else because they'll know they were a plan B.  I'll just go solo and stand up against the wall, hoping for a stiff, awkward pity dance to "End of the Road" before the night ends.

I need k-cup recommendations ... anyone?  I have a few that I like in my rotation, but I'm looking for new additions.  Since I get into various different coffee moods, I need at least one of  each of the following:
-  Light, tasty, flavored coffee that tastes like liquid dessert.
-  General, non-flavored everyday kinda coffee that I can buy for (relatively) cheap and won't feel guilty about drinking 4-8 cups of daily on my days off.
-  More bold, flavorful roast that I can enjoy when I'm feeling all cosmopolitan and want people to think I'm more sophisticated than I actually am.  Like when people conspicuously carry around Tolstoy or Kafka on college campuses.

Now I have to shower and get dressed so I can be productive be semi-productive do SOMETHING today other than sit here and   pig out and watch the dishes pile up in my sink.  I need a haircut.  That'll do.

Not that FORBES is the bible or anything, but, they came out with THEE MOST MISERABLE SPORTS CITIES and here is their list (some people on here are NOT going to be happy)

"Where have U.S. sports fans suffered the most misery? Not from futility, but the heartbreak that comes from building fans' hopes up only to let them down in the end. Sticking to sports towns with at least 75 cumulative seasons in the NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball, we rank each by playoff failures (the deeper you lose in the playoffs, the more misery points) and championship droughts."

http://www.forbes.com/pictures/eddf45gdeg/the-most-miserable-sports-cities-2/#gallerycontent

No. 10 Cincinnati

Teams: Reds, Bengals, Royals
Championship Round Record: 5-6
Semifinal Round Record: 7-5
Total Seasons/Championships: 180/5
Last title: 1990   As great as the Big Red Machine clubs of the 1970s were, they did lose in the post season in 1970, ’72 and ’73. The Bengals are 0-2 in the Super Bowl, while the NBA Royals, a team that once showcased Oscar Robertson, left for Kansas City in 1972 (and then for Sacramento in 1985).

No. 9 Kansas City

Teams: Royals, Athletics, Chiefs, Kings, Scouts
Championship Round Record: 2-2
Semifinal Round Record: 4-6
Total Seasons/Championships: 120/2
Last title: 1985   The Royals lost in the ALCS or World Series five times between 1976 and 1984, before breaking through with a championship in 1985.

No. 8 Cleveland

Teams: Indians, Browns, Browns II, Rams, Cavaliers, Barons
Championship Round Record: 7-9
Semifinal Round Record: 4-11
Total Seasons/Championships: 225/7
Last title: 1964   No, Cleveland. Miserable as you are, you’re not No. 1. Those seven titles before 1965 are part of the city’s history. They count.

No. 7 Denver

Teams: Rockies, Broncos, Nuggets, Original Rockies (NHL), Avalanche

Championship Round Record: 4-6
Semifinal Round Record: 10-11
Total Seasons/Championships: 136/4
Last title: 2001   A great run from 1996 to 2001 (four titles) doesn’t quite mitigate a long bridesmaid history for the Mile High City. The Broncos lost four Super Bowls between 1978 and 1990, while the Nuggets have come up short of a ring through more than 20 playoff appearances dating back to their ABA days.

No. 6 Houston

Teams: Astros, Oilers, Texans, Rockets
Championship Round Record: 4-4
Semifinal Round Record: 5-8
Total Seasons/Championships: 137/4
Last title: 1995
A history full of solid teams coming up short in the end: from 1978 through 2005 the Oilers and Astros combined for 19 playoff appearances but no bananas.

No. 5 San Diego

Teams: Padres, Chargers, Rockets, Clippers
Championship Round Record: 1-7
Semifinal Round Record: 3-3
Total Seasons/Championships: 104/1
Last title: 1963
Neither NBA club in the city’s history stuck around, while the Chargers and Padres are a combined 0-3 in Super Bowl and World Series play. Beware Farmers Field -do the Chargers follow the Clippers to L.A.?

No. 4 Buffalo

Teams: Bills, Sabres, Braves
Championship Round Record: 2-6
Semifinal Round Record: 6-6
Total Seasons/Championships: 100/2
Last title: 1965
The Sabres have been to the NHL semifinals six times without a Stanley Cup. The NBA Braves of Bob McAdoo and Randy Smith didn’t last. And there’s the matter of four straight Super Bowl losses in the ‘90s.

No. 3 Phoenix

Teams: Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Suns, Coyotes
Championship Round Record: 1-3
Semifinal Round Record: 4-9
Total Seasons/Championships: 95/1
Last title: 2001
The Suns lost both of their NBA Finals appearances, not to mention another seven losses in the Western Conference Finals.

No. 2 Seattle

Teams: Mariners, Seahawks, Sonics
Championship Round Record: 1-3
Semifinal Round Record: 4-7
Total Seasons/Championships: 112/1
Last title: 1979
It must be a blast watching Kevin Durant and the Thunder dominate the NBA from Oklahoma City this year.

No. 1 Atlanta

Teams: Braves, Falcons, Hawks, Flames, Thrashers
Championship Round Record: 1-5
Semifinal Round Record: 6-9
Total Seasons/Championships: 154/1
Last title: 1995
Over the past year, Atlanta fans have watched their hockey team leave for Winnipeg, their baseball team blow the playoffs on the final day, and their football and basketball teams bow out early in the playoffs. It’s enough to nudge the city past Seattle back into the top spot.

Happy Hungover Wednesday,

Nick, sat in a suite and took full advantage....and I'm paying for it today.  Dumb idea doing a shot for every offensive rebound Noah had.  Even dumber going out for "victory drinks" @ Justin's afterwards.  It wasn't even a big win.....dumb dumb dumb.  At least I have hoops after work, meaning I'll sweat the booze out.

I would sh*t myself if this happened.  Kudos to the tourists for keeping calm Chive style.

I'm used to Janet's 20+ points per word, it's the sneaky fookers ( Joe & Sid) you have to watch out for. I'm going to sit here and people watch for a bit. Hola amigos y amigas

I've been sick for the last couple of days. Feeling better today but hate being back at work. When I got here my supervisor tells me she is starting to get sick, so looks like she will be going home once lunches are done. It's super dead here today, so I am already caught up on 2 days worth of work.
Did anyone watch Idol last night? So far the guys have done well. I like Phil Phillips voice. As I was changing channels I notice this new reality show that is coming out soon it's called The Shahs of Sunset. Its about Persians that live in Beverly Hills and are trying to find Mr. or Ms. Right. Looks ridiculous, I am so in!
I don't know who I am taking to the dance? Anyone need a date? smiley

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

Looks like the North Koreans got hungry.  New Supreme Dicktater, Kim sux Dongs Jr. has agreed with U.S. negotiators to quit f**king with nukes for a bit, in exchange for a Big Mac, large fries, and a McFlurry.  Now, we can all hold our collective breath and hope this f**ker aint quite as throwed off as his old man was.

Start painting the nursery....Looks like Snooki may just be carrying a little bundle of joy under that shirt after all.  I wonder how in the f**k she plans on getting anyone to admit that they are the one that impregnated her.

Microsoft is announcing the release of the new "Windows 8" operating system.  According to the geeky, nerdy types that developed this system, its gonna be all kinds of neat and cool and $h*t.  I dunno....I just keep having Vista flashbacks for some reason.

You have a major Q-crush on Jswol, so that would be my pick for you.
And you asking Stoney wouldn't upset me.  If he said yes, I'd have my other sister for a shoulder to cry on/talk s**t with about you and him.  If he says no, I'd be there to "there, there" you and talk s**t about various others with until you feel better.

Awww, that was semi-sister sweet, though I heard "yeah, I don't care, you can ask him, for real, it's fine, whatever" in the squeaky high pitched when you're getting all excited but trying to seem calm voice. But, now I don't even want to take him, so he's eliminated. So, Jay Swole and Odd...

Hmmm... Well, they both like brown women which works in my favor, though it's a slightly different shade and I only speaka englais and sh**ty elementary french. Odd doesn't drink, so though I won't get drunk, I won't have to drive. With Jay Swole, I'm pretty sure I'd have to drive (I just pictured Tweeder from Varsity Blues drunk). Jay Swole would be okay with the fact that I have on Airmax, and since he would be drunk, we could make fun of people. Odd makes pretty babies with brown women, so if I got lucky.... *wink*. Hmm, Idk, I may have to just ask both and see what happens.

Random note: We told the old white woman who works with us to stop calling us afro-american.  She's been saying it a lot lately for some reason. She goes "Whaat?" We tell her that we don't like that. Jesus, our maintenance man at work (who's probably 50-60-ish) called this kid "afro-American" and I turned and did Janet face to all of my coworkers.  I didn't have it in me to say anything.  He just doesn't understand the plight of my people.

You should have said "Uhh, negro" and let chaos (and then probably a Human Resources rep) take it's natural course. Maybe colored? You should really explore the studio space with this.

Eva Mendes and Kate Beckinsale...Because I can!!

Omg, I'm crying. I should have! It's absolutely something we would say to her. We f*** with her all of the time. Damn, she has a serious Tennessee twang, too, so I can hear her saying "colored?" OMG! You're wonderful.

Sis, Word!

Sista, I almost watched it but decided that I want to wait and see the first episode first. Good call, I guess

Everyone else, House of Lies catch up marathon is Sunday. It's gotten so very good. Dvr or watch it. Cheadle is Cheadle and by the 3rd episode, the rest of the characters have really stepped it up. I heart the dudes... and the kid that plays Cheadle's trans-confused son.

We've got damn tulips blooming.  In February.  That is some serious s**t.  Last time I saw tulips bloom in February was in Texas.

Midterms are kicking.  my.  ass.

And I'm gonna get some hockey this year.  Some how, some way.  It will more than likely be the Preds/Blackhawks.  In case of lower funds than I'm expecting, it may be bad hockey.  As in Columbus/Islanders.  The Columbus game is CHEAP and I haven't been to Columbus in a while.  I'd rather see the Kostitsyn boys, though.  And the Preds/Hawks game should be good.

Glad this is a Sadie Hawkins, so I don't have to embarrass myself by getting rejected. I can just assume no one will ask and I don't have to go. Woo.

Bummer: The local Peruvian chicken place I liked closed. Silver Lining: A real burger joint is being put in its place. It will be nice to have a non-bar burger option (right now it's just Fuddruckers and McDonald's, ugh).

So I've started studying for the Auditing section of the CPA exam, and the standards for auditing are known as Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, or GAAS. Yes, it is pronounced "gas". During the video lectures, there is talk of GAAS problems. It has yet to stop being funny.

There are about 3 versions already. I refuse to pay $120 for either but I love these:

 and

(I may pay that for the orange ones)

My 95's are Bears colors... those are actually my favorite colors so for awhile I had a lot of navy blue and orange... so, it's okay.

What is he singing? I must know.... "Make that...?"  showstopper? show stop, boi?  Maybe the showstopper? Ugh. It is bugging me.
It was bugging me, too.  I kept watching, trying to read lips, but couldn't stop looking at the little undies and big belly, so I'd have to stop.
If you figure it out, let me know.

Well that's just ridiculous.  Wasting time at work to think about something as silly as THAT.  What is wrong with kids these days?!  Ugh.

Captain Planet can fly.  Why would he even drive at all?
My thought is that you can't move around without using energy. The amount of energy it takes to walk is less than it takes to run which, I'm guessing, is less than it takes to fly.

Captain Planet has to get tired doing all of that flying. So why wouldnt he enjoy kicking back and relaxing on the daily commute to work?

He's gotten weak before, as the forces of corporation dump toxic waste all over, and he's expended all his energy into cleaning it up.    It's not until that kid with Heart provides him with enough Will and Strength to defeat the Big Bad Corporations to make it to the end of the show.   (Seriously, the elements of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire I can see....but Heart?  I've looked in all my D&D books, and have yet to see the Elemental Plane of Heart.)

Well, I think he was just too tired and drained to do anything.   But think how he could have used a fancy new Hummer to get where he needed to, with all those cup-holders for his 64 oz. of Starbucks energy-providing cup of Life  (or Heart, or whatever.)

lol. I see the point, but this is where the planeteers come in handy. Plus, I was solely thinking about under normal circumstances, he would be no more tired of flying than... superman on a sunday afternoon. (he is no superman, i know)
