Good news/ Bad news week for me.

First, my uncle had hip surgery and it is looking good. He is 3 years older then I am, and is more like a brother than an uncle.He lives alone and I've been worrying about the whole ordeal. I have been trying to spend as much time as possible helping him rehab. He is a ninja and can't sit still, not sure if that is good or bad thing.

Second, one more good thing... my daughter's wedding went well, no Jerry Springer stuff and everyone seemed happy. My g'babe busted moves all night long. She rocks it...
... I love that youngen.

Lastly, bad news. My best friend for the last 38 years was found dead in his home Monday night alone. We went to high school together, played in a band for about 15 years together, and worked here for 23 years or so together. It was a sad way to see him go. I was asked to sing at the funeral, keep your fingers crossed that I can pull it off. I know I can do it. 

Band practices tonight, and I need it. 

Hope all is well, tell someone you dig them. It feels good to do it, and who knows, they may need to hear it.

All they're talking about on the local sports radio is 'Peyton to the Seahawks', not sure how I feel abou that.  A good/great QB is all the team needs, but Peyton could be broken.  I kind of feel like it's similar to a horrific event that's about to happen, I want to see it, so I sit there with my mouth open still deciding if I want to honk and stop the car about to hit the guy on his bike or just watch that jackass get destroyed by a big-ass SUV.

Jswol... there's another thing about Oregon, there are a bunch of pretentious a$$holes in the cities that ride their bikes everywhere and feel like they own the road because they're 'being green'.  I personally have seen about 5 accidents involving bicylces vs. cars in the past 3 years, and those f**kers just swerve in and out of traffic... it takes some getting used too.

Watched the season premeir of 'Breakout Kings' last night on my DVR.  Sarinda Swan is definately hot (for a Canadian especially), and did anyone else notice that both of the McPoyle brothers (from 'It's always Sunny...') were in this episode?  Liam is a regular, but Neal was the escapee for this episode.

Other than that, I've noticed that all my teams lose when I watch them play.  So now I'm going to start rooting for the Lakers hoping my jinx works on them as well.

I saw a headline yesterday that frankly made me laugh.

It was actually all over several sites I found out.. It had to be a joke headline right? Maybe they were talking about her sunglasses? She has the body of a 12 year old boy.. ew

Back from the dentist.  The right side of my face is numb and I can't eat until the Novacaine wears off.  Put those two together and it's a recipe for a fist fight.  

I used to hit myself in the jaw after getting numbed up.  It always hurt the next day.

i have spent the better part of this morning fashioning a party hat for this little guy. it's so charming, i keep blushing at him. i like having a job that allows me to do this kind of thing before the tasks of the day (i have none on wednesdays anyway) but i think i need a little more challenge.

There is talk about where Peyton Manning might end up. It has been said that he might consider Houston, just so he could punish the Colts two times a year. I don't think it's going to happen, but I wouldn't be totally against it.

1 - Matt Schaub has failed to stay healthy. Being a back-up to a future HOF QB isn't like being benched for a rookie. He could heal and not have to play. Or Houston could play Schuab, and bench Manning until Schaub gets hurt. (Which he will.)

2 - Again we're talking about a guy who is going to the HOF - Have the Texans ever won games because of the QB? Manning makes any team an instant contender.

3 - It's close to New Orleans where Peyton is from.

4 - He would get 2 shots a year at beating Andrew and the Colts.

5 - His father ended his career with the Houston Oilers. Like father like son. Maybe Manning wants to end it all where his old man did. Eventually the Giants won't want Eli anymore, and with this line of thinking perhaps he could come to Houston like father did too.


With everything being said above for Houston - I see him going to the Dolphins.

Still feeling attacked by the cootie monster......stupid shuttle van with cootie teachers and no ventilation. This is DAY 3 of my conference at UCLA. I hope the day flies by because yesterday was a long one. 

More importantly.............the KINGS scored 5 goals!!!!! Look out #28 and #27 ranked Offenses. It was a good thing the Kings won last night because I really really really wanted to punch Coach Sutter in the mouth for playing Quick last night (Nashville is his kryptonite and Bernier is a stud against them). .....especially after Quick let in 2 "softies." I love Quick, but he wasn't on last night. I hope Bernier starts on Thursday so that Quick is ready for Detroit on Friday (why is it the kings always play Detroit on the second of a back to back) Anywhoo......a win is a win. Too bad none of the others the Kings are chasing lost in regulation but Phoenix.

I don't think that Peyton will be a difference maker for any team he goes to. I don't believe that he'll be the Peyton of 5 years ago. But even though I believe those things, I also believe that he would be a better option than anyone the Seahawks currently have.

I don't agree. I don't want Peyton playing at all, and while the Seahawks are DESPERATE for a quarterback, I think they would be stupid to sign him. The Seahawks would have to completely change their offense. Yes, they need a QB. But they need a young QB who can grow and succeed with the team. While I believe that Peyton could get them TO the playoffs, they were pretty close to getting there last year. We all know how clutch Peyton is - as much as I love him, there are a lot of QB's I'd rather have in the post season. Also, he's 36 years old. PC and JS would be throwing away a couple of seasons, IMO, if they went with Manning, even if they only signed him to one year.

Better option and tying what will probably be a lot of money is not what the Seahawks need. Jess understands that.

And "Peyton of 5 years ago" is kind of hilarious. Peyton of 2 seasons ago was better than 5 years ago.

I'll take him in KC, though. I think with Charles and Moeaki coming back, and the current defense, Peyton will add enough.

I know it sounds like I hate Peyton - that couldn't be further from the truth. I just wish he would retire rather than putting his health in jeopardy. The gridiron always poses a risk. But when you've had four neck surgeries and aren't healing like you should be, that risk is a lot greater. I would hate to see something happen to him because he's got too much pride to let go.

 I see this whole thing going down like a lot of veteran QB's(Montana, Unitas, Namath, to name a few) careers have ended, with fans wishing that the player would have simply retired from his original team.
