jinx, stoney.

oh hey, is it steak and bj day? happy that to everyone celebrating!

yesterday around 5:30am the lights in my house started pulling this poltergeist s**t. at 7:45, i had a centerpoint dude come knocking on the door just going on about how much he hates making such early calls. funny, strangers in plastic hats coming that early in the morning to tell me i have $1500-2000 worth of mandatory, immediate electric work to do aren't my favorite thing either.

our underground service line is fried and apparently that is the homeowner's responsibility (blowage). so what's going on is we have enough juice to run lights, clocks and the fridge (actually pretty awesome), because the other hot leg is backfeeding off energy being put out by the air conditioner. so if we turn that off, we lose everything. totally makes me think "50! stay...above....fifty!"

it's been an adventure. like trying to make my complete breakfast? it's awesome. scrambled eggs have never been so fun to figure out how to cook without significant heat:

eggs on the coffee maker           eggs on the george                   eggs on the grill

on the grill was most successful, but i do look forward to my inevitable food poisoning i'll be getting between the undercooked eggs and my grilled chicken boobs. they should have an offshoot of "man vs. wild" called "princess vs. low-tech suburbia."

i spent all of yesterday looking for a legitimate second job too. something that i actually get a check for. something where i can't spend my nightly earnings on the merchandise. by 8:30, i was pooped and on the verge of tears and exhaustion when i got called to one of those hibachi restaurants with my friends. i thought i'd stay as long as i could, and then just go.

then i tried sake. hot sake. and i'll be damned if that stuff isn't enhance. i went from mopey and beaten down to singing bobby mcferrin requests right there at the teppan.

all in all, life is good. oh. except for this massive zit in the middle of my chin that makes me look kinda like john travolta. but that too shall pass.

I think the Q needs more pics of the HIPPIE!    Anyone???  Bueller??

BHAWKS came back from a 2 goal deficit to beat the NHL leading STL  BLUES in a shootout!  YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

Ryan Reaves is becoming known as a dirty player!  He should play for Vancouver!  I wish we still had John Scott, just so he can pound the living f**k out of him! UGH!

It was your typical STL-CHI chippy game!  Lots of rough stuff and I'm glad to see the young guys (Bollig & Shaw) sticking up for their teammates!  BHAWKS have now beaten DET, NYR & STL within the last 10 days!  ME LIKEY but not getting too high! Also glad to see Crawford come into the game in the 2nd period and end up getting the win!  Hope this boosts his confidence level as he is one hell of a goalie when he's on his game!  Still though, CHI continues to have problems with giving up the puck in their own zone!  This has to stop!!!  STL also had killed 52 straight penalties without giving up a goal until SEABROOK tied the game at 3 with a PP goal!  STL was 1 more SH chance away from tying WASH for the NHL record.  HA!!

BULLS - FUEGO's tonight in CHICAGO!!  8:30PM CDT tip-off.   ROSE was fined $25K for stating the truth. That's ok, he can afford it and he got his point across!  His Bentley was also rear-ended by a Saturn yesterday and had to towed away.

BEARS signed;
QB - Jason Campbell (OAK),
WR/Special Teams guru - Eric Weems (ATL),
CB - Tim Jennings (CHI - re-signed),
LB/Special Teams guru - Blake "George" Costanza (SF),
traded for WR - Brandon Marshall (MIA)

and are talking with OG - Anthony Herrera (MIN) and CB - Kelvin Hayden (IND)

The Weems signing is a backup plan in case Corey Graham leaves via FA and with the slow back surgery recovery of Johnny Knox after that devastating hit he took last year in which his entire upper body was bent backwards.

I find it hard for CHI or any other team to sign Mario Williams.  It appears that BUF will be offering too much money for any other team to match for Williams......it will all boil down to whether Williams is more interested in making as much money as he can or making a lot of money and playing with another team?  Bears fans, could you imagine Mario, Briggs & Urlacher as our LB's with Peppers and Idonje on the ends??  HOLY SH**!!!!

Have a kick-a$$ day, everyone!    Remember that banana's have potassium and potassium is essential for proper functioning of the Muscles, Kidneys, Heart, Nerves and Digestive System!

Bears got the #1 WR we've been needing since dinosaurs roamed the earth.  Don't care about his baggage and sure as hell don't buy the latest "alleged" story.  If there were any legs to it, we wouldn't have made the trade.  Welcome to Chicago, Brandon.  Make plays and keep yo a*s outta the clink.  The nice thing is, we have great leadership in the locker room with guys like Urlacher, Briggs, and Peppers.  They'll keep his arse in check.

Derrick Rose's day yesterday - got fined 25K, re-aggravated his bad groin, and got rear ended.  Now he's not playing against the Heat tonight.  That really sucks.

Here's his whip - hot damn that car is fresh to death.

Welp, off to a lunch date in the AWESOME weather.  Is it bad if I have an adult beverage....or two?

This is what happens when Ash doesn't make FE. Weirdness.

Good day , bitches.

Leigh - Good job on FE, it's not your fault.  heart

My bracket is done.  I was kinda thinking that I would make some seriously insane upset calls in it, but really, it's pretty blah.  This means that my paper is ready to be copied, Mojo.  But I don't work for free.  I'm at the bargaining table when you're ready.  Your move.

The weather has been so nice, and I took my patio furniture out (It's weird when I call it that since I don't actually have a patio ... but deck furniture just sounds dumb to me.  Anyway, I digress.), so it damn well better stay this way.

I came across this interesting little tidbit ... apparently a school hired a local Christian rap metal band to come to the school to talk about bullying and making good choices.

"Instead, parents said, the band told girls in the audience that 'they were going to have mud on their wedding dresses if they weren’t virgins.' In a break-out session for girls, the band told them to save themselves for their husbands and assume a submissive role in marriage. Then the girls were forced to chant a mantra about virginity."
As you can imagine, I was all .  I mean, seriously.  Christian rap metal band?  Who knew?

Special Teams wise!  Weems would mostly fill in for Knox while he is out and would also take Graham's place on the coverage teams.

Sorry Ashlie, I had work to do and Leigh beat me to the poll publication

Don't have much, have another busy day, then s**t to do when I get home, followed by hockey at 9pm and a flight out of town leaving at 6:30am tomorrow.  I'm thinking that since I won't be home until about 12:30-1am and have to leave the house at 4:30 I might as well just stay up right?

Good start to the Pre-NCAA tournament last night.  F**king Iona.  I think that could be a good sign for Mitt Romney.  I'm wondering when the mormon.org billboards are gonna start sporting the phrase "yes we can".

I think Jessica Simpson may officially be wider than she is tall now.. And I think she's only 3 months pregnant.. Weird

I watched the documentary Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father this past weekend (I think James may have mentioned it a while back) and holy s**t can I still not get it out of my head.. If you like those things, watch it, it's streaming on Netflix, and spoiler alert, you'll probably cry.

NFL free agency has started.  Show me the moooneeeyyyyy.  It's pretty easy to tell what the determining factor is in players deciding where to sign.  And it's not winning

Somewhere Mike Wallace and his agent just lit HUGE cigars after seeing those ridiculous WR contracts. Meacham 4/25Mil!?!?!?!?! [coffee-spit-take!] Then I remebered this is the same front office that continually gives Norv a vote of confidence. Best FA report so far is that Oakland has about $639.00 in cap space. Not 6-point-3-milli, not thousands, hundreds. Basically they have enough to pay a fancy car note for one month. Speaking of which, car dealerships must drool when a GM comes in to buy a car right? I think the trick is that you have to nuke it in small increments, like 30 seconds or so, stir, then go again.  It's like making them on the stovetop ... you have to stir constantly when they're expose to that much heat.

I haven't actually done it myself, but that's what I've heard.

Ahh yea I think I tried to do it for one minute.

Here's how it transpired:
- Whip eggs up in microwave safe bowl
- place bowl w/eggs into microwave for 1 minute
- somewhere in the middle of heating cycle, BOOM!
- Kiernan walks over to the microwave and looks inside...eyes wide, looks at me and says "wha'd you do?!"
- Me: I was trying to scramble some eggs
- Kiernan: Well they're scrambled now!

Yes, they were. All over the microwave.

I love you too! I asked someone else to do this a looong time ago, but I see how it is.

Morning. Because I've been busy all day, I've forgotten everything I wanted to tell yall. So here's a song instead...

I never meant to give you mushrooms girl
I never meant to bring you to my world
Now you sitting in the corner crying
And now it's my fault my fault

[Eminem:]
I went to John's rave with Ron and Dave
And met a new wave blonde babe with half of her head shaved
A nurse aid who came to get laid and tied up
with first aid tape and r**** on the first date
Susan - an ex-heroin addict who just stopped usin
who love booze and alternative music (Whattup?)
Told me she was goin back into usin again (Nah!)
I said, 'Wait, first try this hallucinogen
It's better than heroin, Henn, the booze or the gin
C'mere, let's go in here' *knocks on the door*
Who's in the den?'
[Ron:] It's me and Kelly!
[Eminem:] My bad, (sorry) let's try another room
[Susan:] I don't trust you!
[Eminem:] Shut up slut! Chew up this mushroom
This'll help you get in touch with your roots
We'll get barefoot, buttnaked, and run in the woods
[Susan] Oh hell, I might as well try em, this party is so drab
[Eminem:] Oh dag!!
[Susan] What?
[Eminem:] I ain't mean for you to eat the whole bag!
[Susan:] Huh?!

[Chorus: x2]
I never meant to give you mushrooms girl
I never meant to bring you to my world
Now you sitting in the corner crying
And now it's my fault my fault (1st Chorus: I'm sorry!)

[Eminem:] Yo Sue!
[Susan:] Get away from me, I don't know you
Oh shoot, she's tripping..
[Susan:] I need to go puke!! (Bleahh!)
[Eminem] I wasn't tryin to turn this into somethin major
I just wanted to make you appreciate nature
Susan, stop cryin, I don't hate ya
The world's not against you, I'm sorry your father r**** you
So what you had your little c****** in your ***s mouth?
That ain't no reason to start wiggin and spaz out
She said,
[Susan:] Help me I think I'm havin a seizure!
I said, 'I'm h**h too b**ch, quit grabbin my t-shirt' (Let go!)
'Would you calm down you're startin to scare me'
She said,
'I'm twenty-six years old and I'm not married
I don't even have any kids and I can't cook'
[Eminem:](Hello!) I'm over here Sue, (hi) you're talkin to the plant, look!
We need to get to a hospital 'fore it's too late
Cause I never seen no-one eat as many shrooms as you ate

[Chorus: x2]
I never meant to give you mushrooms girl
I never meant to bring you to my world
Now you sitting in the corner crying
And now it's my fault my fault (1st Chorus: It was an accident!!)

[Eminem:] Wait! Where you goin? You better be careful
[Susan:] Leave me alone dad, I'm sick of gettin my hair pulled
[Eminem:]I'm not your dad, quit tryin to swallow your tongue
Want some gum? Put down the scissors, 'fore you do somethin dumb
I'll be right back just chill baby please?
I gotta go find Dave he's the one who gave me these
[Eminem:]'John, where's Dave at before I bash you?'
[John:] He's in the bathroom

I want D'antoni gone. Far, far away, gone. I hate everything about every team I follow. I should start getting into the MLS or something. Does Atlanta have a team? (I'd wear an FC Dirty jersey in a heartbeat.) I need a fresh start.

Not 6-point-3-milli, not thousands, hundreds. Basically they have enough to pay a fancy car note for one month. Speaking of which, car dealerships must drool when a GM comes in to buy a car right? "It's the last one we have on the lot, and the Jets GM was just in here kicking the tires and I think Polian has one... so..."
I was thinking the same thing about Josh Morgan
4 year career: 131 catches, 1,764 yards, 9 TD
Compare that to
Wes Welker 2011: 122 catches, 1,569 yards, 9 TD

In free agent logic, Wes Welker is worth $24 million per year

Who knew?

Larry and Curly get no love.

It's my brothers birthday.  I'm sure he's getting steak.  Don't know about the other, but it's not my business.

One busy beastie I be....

I hope everyone is doing well.  If you come to North Carolina (preferably the triangle area) let me know, we'll hook up.

Everyone stay safe this weekend.  Me?  I'm gonna stay Irish.

Ladies and Gents, Led Zep:

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face
Stars to fill my dreams
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been

Secret elders of the gentle race
This world is seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace
Whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Woah, woah

Ooh, oh baby I been flying
Lord yeah mama, there ain't no denyin'
Oh, ooh yes, I've been flying
Mama ma, ain't no denyin', no denyin'

Oh all I see turns to brown as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I been

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert screen

My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon
I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June
When movin' through Kashmir

Oh, father of the four winds
Fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
'Long the straits of fear
Woah, woah, woah

Oh

Well, when I want
When I'm on my way, yeah
When I see
When I see the way, you stay, yeah

Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah, well I'm down, yes
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah, well I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, ooh, my baby, let me take you there

Oh oh, come on, come on
Oh, let me take you there
Let me take you there
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah

Happy Pi Day! In honor of it, here are some awesome pie charts.

I have two bracket related questions/statements. I had another, unrelated question, but I already forgot it.

1.) I've been seeing some columns around the Internets, even some from writers I know and respect, talking about how they're not going to fill out a bracket. I don't get it. Does anyone really take hours to do them, or have enough money on the outcome that they can't enjoy the tournament without them? Upsets blow up my bracket every year. I get over it in about 5 seconds.

That said, Kentucky better not blow it or I'll owe someone lunch.

2.) What's the deal with "conference loyalty?" This might be a bigger problem in football (see: SEC), but I still see it with some during the tournament. I don't get this either. For example, I'm nominally a Penn State fan (although it's complicated now). There's no way I'm going to root for Ohio State or Michigan in the tournament, and I'm ambivalent about the other Big Ten teams. I mean, what's the point? To make the conference look good? Who cares?

ODB-"Got Your Money"
(feat. Kelis)

Oh baby
I dedicate this to all the pretty girls
All the pretty girls
Its on [echo]
All the pretty girls, in the world
And the ugly girls too
Cause to me your pretty anyways baby

[verse 1:]
You give me your number, I call you up
You act like your pu$$y don't interrupt
I don't have no trouble with you f**king me
But I have a little problem wit you not f**king me
Baby you know I'm gonna take care of you
Cause you say you got my baby, and I know it ain't true
Is it a good thing? no its bad b!tch
For good or worse, makes you switch
So I walk on over with my crystal
B!tches, ni**as put away your pistols
Dirty wont be having it in this house
Cause b!tch I'll cripple your style
Now that you heard my calm voice
You couldn't get another ni**a, hoochie wont get moist
If you wanna look good and not be bummy, girl you better give me that money
Aooow...

[hook: Kelis]
Hey, dirty, baby I got your money
Don't your worry, I said hey.
Baby I got your money
[X2]

[verse 2:]
Yo! so I glanced at the girls, girls glanced at me
I whispered in their ear, wanna be with me?
You wanna look pretty though, in my video
Ol' dirty on the hat and I let you all know
Just dance! if you caught up in the holy ghost trance
If you stop! I'm gonna put the killer ants in your pants
I'm the O-D-B as you can see
Every eye, don't you be watching me
I don't want no problems cause I put you down
In the ground where you can not be found
I'm just dirt dog trying to make sum bunny
So give me my streaks and give me my honey
Radio, yes all day, everyday
Recognize I'm a fool and ya love me!
None of you nmph better look at me funny
Nmph you know my name now give me my money!

[hook X2]
Dirty: sing it, sing it girls! (during hook)
Just shake it right now!
Somebody else: if dirty want his money
I think you all should give him his money
Dirty: that's how I like girl

Sexy, sexy, sexy!
Sexy, sexy, sexy!

Sexy, sexy, sexy!
Sexy, sexy, sexy!

[verse 3:]
Yo, yo!
Ni**a playing in the club like this all night
B!tches put your a$$ out let me hold it tight
You looking at my wrist saying "its so nice"
The price b!tch is diamonds shining disco light
You better help me solve this problem
Or I'm gonna get this money and rob them
Lucky dig when I won the lotto
Ran up on my car for carrying (ryllos?)
You can call me dirty, and then lift up your skirt
And you want some of this dirty, god made dirt and dirt bust yo a$$
Stop annoying me, yeah! I play my music loud
It takes the bastard ol' dirty, to move the crowd
They say he had his d!ck in his mouth
Eddie Murphy told me that back in the house
But give me my money!

I just think that your comment was a little over the top...the POTUS is a human being, after all, and every human being has a right to watch, analyze, and enjoy sports as they wish. I'm tired of people complaining about the fact that the dude made a friggin bracket.

Holy crap it worked!! (I'm all in for a VanGundy return btw. Hopefully the Hawks ex-crappy coach is just an interim thing. But really with Dolan involved, if you had to put money on the next hire, Zeke is the favorite right? I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.)

Now for my Habs: "I want Gauthier gone. Far, far away gone."

I'm pretty sure that's some kind of Candyman or Beetlejuice type of sports-fan-magic. Everybody should try it.
NO way isiah thomas comes back to NY- Woodson may be a good coach- look at how Rivers turned out- they were backcourt mates when they played for the Knicks
