What up peoples, long time no see..

So much happening lately, so little time to express comments on everything..

Peyton Manning to the Broncos made Bronco nation extremely happy, but there is still that Tebowmania cult that wasn't happy (Stay classy Pat Robertson).  What a GD circus it's already turned into in New York.  Good Riddance.  Drew Stanton passes up higher offers to be the backup QB to Sanchez (smart move) only to have Tim Tebow brought in and right away declared the backup QB less than a week later (d'oh).  Sanchez did get that extension with $20million guaranteed a couple weeks ago right? God I'm gonna love seeing how this train wreck unfolds.
Oh, and Peyton Manning at 50% > Tim Tebow at 120%

College basketball didn't disappoint in the first two rounds last weekend.  The play-in games don't count as a round.  But now the only dog I have in the hunt is Kentucky so I could really care less about the other games.  But it IS nice watching Michigan St lose.

The Avs were on a roll, and per usual, they lay a big egg in perhaps the biggest game they've had in a couple weeks while everyone around them wins.  When they play with desperation like they did when they got down 3-0 last night, they're fantastic.  Too bad they can't do that when games are tied or closer.  It was a good run, but their schedule is brutal from here on out.

Vacation starts at 4:00pm today. I might not be on too much in the next week.
I was supposed to leave for San Diego Saturday morning, but my daughter has weapons training all weekend, so we're postponing until June.

Morning.

I'm sleepy, my throat is scratchy (you know that husky voice thing....I'm kind of digging it), I think I have a couple bruises in odd places, and I have a tad of a headache............................BUT.....the Kings, who are freak'n making me so stink'n darn happy right now, won their 6th game in a row last night. I have three words-----------BEST GAME EVER! I've seen a lot of 0-0 games this season, what happened last night at STaples didn't even compare. TWO of the best defensive teams (#1 and #2) in the league, the number 1 team --the Blues vs. my beloved "I may need heart meds after this season---no lie" Kings battling for 3 periods----scoreless, hits galore (seriously....both teams laid the body 40+ times), fantabulous saves by both goalies (heck Quick almost put the puck in on himself.....and in the old days ....aka...a couple weeks ago....it would have gone in, but not tonight). Then OT comes.........the Kings kill off a penalty with less than 2 minutes to go in OT---at this time I was asked by the lady behind me if I was ok...she was concerned---that was sweet. lol Finally, the shootout----------I was pretty much mumbling at this point....not really sure what I was mumbling about---Was I praying (ha), promising stuff? no clue.....but I do know that Quick (who posted his 8th shutout and this ties him with Hotty Pants in NY) stopped 2 of the 3 Blues shoot out attempts and the Blues guy only saved 1----------have I told you all how much I love the bromance bros named Mike MF Richards and Jeff "JC" Carter?----by the way......"JC" scored the winning one. Awwww....what a night. I couldn't sleep when I got home...............and will pay for it today, but ----->laugh Now onto Saturday!!!

I'm wiped out.....I got excited again just typing the above. Be good to each other. See the Hunger GAmes and have a great weekend!

QUICK!

oh wow. the game. oh the game. first of all, by the time i got inside the toyota center, i was "spiritually" about here:

i had to pee pronto even though i was missing the first tipoff. while i was peeing i heard "leeeeeigh..." in a booming, very condescending tone. i was like "oh crap. right now, god?" i heard it two or three times before i got to my seat. i know i did. shortly after i sat down i heard "leigh!!!" super excited-like and i had to pee again i thought. i told roomie on the drive home about my amazing urban-field-of-dreams experience and he explained to me how there were players named lee on both teams and their names get announced when they score. i think he was wrong. god knew i was at the game and he had a bone to pick.

i got to see the 1990's team of the decade (stupidest name ever?) up close! drexler and horry and olajuwon and cassell and stuff and only rudy t and kenny smith couldn't make it. they are some tall m-f's. speaking of tall. i think the two brothers next to me a) knew i was fuh-lying and b) were racist. i have a feeling every time they said something, it was something about trying to keep the white woman down. unbelievable. oh! and i was not aware until last night that houston has a tall black guy on the team. we have two! i thought the rockets were a buncha weird scraps; italians, short black guys, an albino, coupla kids from high school...oh and we won! like big time.

best part was the following. power dancers shaking it to "baby got back." i almost died. that song just makes me laugh. and i had a serious american beauty moment where i was kevin spacey (hahaha "spacey." i love when s**t goes full circle) and and the power dancers were the googly eyed chick. and they busted their sweaters open just for me. except, they were facing the other way and it was actually for everybody. but i still schwung.

oh! and the best part was the zatarain's promo. all of the sudden hundreds of tiny parachuting seasoning samples came from heaven. except if i slouched all the way down in my seat and looked straight up, it was like a gaggle of air-jellyfish coming down to bring me tidings of great flavor.

for the record, this is exactly why i don't do this stuff often. i'll never be cool. i'll always be the girl who wants to hang her head out of the car window singing polka your eyes out for all the world to hear. and i'm pretty sure no one wants to be seen with that.
I don't know, it's just the way I am...

I can't have any of these. The that time of year is here, I'm in the super religious mode right now.

BTW the Hindu new year starts today so HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.

So today there was a big Exercise at the Navy Yard. After many many warnings about lack of parking and restricted movement as a result, most of the office didn't show. I ended up being part of a potluck with some people who actually came to work today. They were all African Americans from South Carolina. As a (very) white Yankee, it was a learning experience.

Every time I hear something about the Travyon Martin case, I just get madder about it.

I can't believe Fabrice Muamba was technically dead for 78 minutes and managed to survive. Fantastic job by the doctor and paramedics.

Everyone go read Debi's IndyCar preview, then go take my polls about the season.

I have so much time and so little to do. Strike that. Reverse it. Not only do I have to study big time (taking my first of 2 practice exams tomorrow), I also have a fantasy baseball draft tomorrow in Beans' league. I've done exactly no preparation for it.

- The Tron body suit is headed mainstream.. If not it should be.. Well on a limited basis
- Backup singers? Really?
- Clean versions of songs and movies are ruining America.. Do they rename the song title when they sell it in Walmart to African American Gentlemen in Paris?
- If this song hasn't been featured on an episode of Teen Mom, over/under on # of episodes before it is.
- That backup band makes The Smiths look masculine
- what are the odds of Jay-Z and Kanye covering The One That Got Away?

I'm right with you. I've watched it 3-4 times and more and more questions keep coming up. It's fascinating. They need to do a reddit AMA (ask me anything) with Katy focusing solely on that song and that performance... personally I'd like a dirty NAS "Fireworks" cover.

Howdy folks!  I had my interview for the team leader position this afternoon and the panel was only 3 people, all of whom I have a very good rep with.  I told them "I feel being recommended as a trainer and selected for the ticket to ride committee (project our dept. is working on) speaks volumes to my work ethic."  I think it went well, but I thought that about my interview back in December as well.  The difference this time is everyone who interviewed me knows me and knows that I do my job AND am personable, something I can't say about anyone else in the department.  Those who do their job well don't talk or aren't always very professional, and the ones who do talk don't do anything but talk all day and slack off.  I made sure the 3 ladies knew that I have a great reputation with my coworkers as well as the nurses and departments.

The Pens won again last night shutting down the Preds (sorry Christi).  They still have 9 games to play and they've officially clinched a playoff berth for the 6th consecutive year with that win.  Malkin is gunning for 50!  I'm determined to win the Q Yahoo hockey league, third time's a charm...move over Nick, play for the 3rd place game next week!

I'm eating some root beer beef jerky I forgot I brought home from Texas.

Another tornado touched down in the area today...it was either an EF0 or 1 and didn't stay on the ground long, but it did some damage.  Storms all night, so I should sleep like a baby.  Scratch that.  Babies don't sleep when  you want them to.  I'll just sleep well.

My mom is taking me out for my birthday dinner tomorrow, even though my birthday isn't officially until Monday.  I'm not sure where I want to go just yet, b/c my mom is a VERY picky eater and the places I REALLY want will get shot down pronto.

Go Cats, I guess.  Just for tonight.  And it WAS nice seeing Mich. St. go down to my favorite team in the world.  Go Cards, for real.

i got to see the 1990's team of the decade (stupidest name ever?) up close! drexler and horry and olajuwon and cassell and stuff and only rudy t and kenny smith couldn't make it. they are some tall m-f's. speaking of tall. i think the two brothers next to me a) knew i was fuh-lying and b) were racist. i have a feeling every time they said something, it was something about trying to keep the white woman down. unbelievable. oh! and i was not aware until last night that houston has a tall black guy on the team. we have two! i thought the rockets were a buncha weird scraps; italians, short black guys, an albino, coupla kids from high school...oh and we won! like big time.

best part was the following. power dancers shaking it to "baby got back." i almost died. that song just makes me laugh. and i had a serious american beauty moment where i was kevin spacey (hahaha "spacey." i love when s**t goes full circle) and and the power dancers were the googly eyed chick. and they busted their sweaters open just for me. except, they were facing the other way and it was actually for everybody. but i still schwung.

oh! and the best part was the zatarain's promo. all of the sudden hundreds of tiny parachuting seasoning samples came from heaven. except if i slouched all the way down in my seat and looked straight up, it was like a gaggle of air-jellyfish coming down to bring me tidings of great flavor.

for the record, this is exactly why i don't do this stuff often. i'll never be cool. i'll always be the girl who wants to hang her head out of the car window singing polka your eyes out for all the world to hear. and i'm pretty sure no one wants to be seen with that.

Last night was the reminder of why I need new friends.   Same crap, every Friday.  I went to sleep at 11.
After they broke out another case of beer.  Drinking beer and smoking on the front porch til someone
passes out or falls down in the yard is not something I want to do or see anymore.

Fantasy Baseball draft for Beans league is Tminus 9 hours or something.  Should probably look over my
players and make sure they are all still healthy.

And Leigh, being cool is over rated.  Nerds (and money) rule the world.  heart

So about two months ago my fiance decided to make me watch the entire series of Lost, which sadly I got addicted to. Three weeks later I was completely through the series and I had this huge void in my life, you know the well that's it, what now? Sure we tried a few other shows, Eureka, MacGyver, but alas the void was still there. Then yesterday we found Walking Dead on netflix, and I am here to say that void is filled. Thank God too because I was afraid I was going to have to start taking heroin or something to replace it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to download a video from YouTube?

When I pre-ranked players yesterday (I'll be there, but pre-ranked in case I couldn't get in the draft), I noticed that we're drafting 27 players each. So 27 rounds plus 12 teams means we're going to be there awhile.

I think there is a program that you can get online that allows it.

Go 'Cuse, Go 'Ville! Let's keep my perfect Final Four alive. I think this is the farthest I have ever made it into a bracket without losing a Final Four. 7 of 8 elite 8 teams, I don't believe that has ever happened before either!

It's not even Friday any more ... I slept through the remainder of my Friday, so f**k it, no need to post anything other than, well, this.

Good night, bitches.

I just nearly s**t my pants as Louisville came from behind to beat Florida, despite the ref's best efforts to hose us down.  Florida's chump change ran out before the game was over with, thankfully.  Final Four bound, and possibly against Kentucky, unless Baylor prevails.

Don't think many will appreciate this goal, maybe Stoney, I think I remember him saying he's a lacrosse fan. Behind the back, for the hat trick, with a pretty good call by the play-by-play man.

Basketball games have been close today, but I've hardly been paying attention - something's wrong with me. Halftime of Syracuse/OSU, and thinking of just putting the 2nd half on mute while I read A Game of Thrones.

Morneau hit 2 HR's today off of Jeremy Hellickson, and Luke Hughes went 5-5 with a HR, two doubles, and 5 RBI, as Twins beat Rays 19-4. I'll expect probably 1 or 2 of those kind of days all regular season long.
