I was leaning towards Pittsburgh, but, I don't think this is their year?

Philly has had their number all season and Boston and NYR have been 2 of the best defensive teams in the East.

I hope they can get past Philly!  I despise them as much as I do Vancouver!  PITT - CHI would be an awesome series for me. yes

My pick is probably irrational and totally homer-ish, but I don't give a f**k. This sign told me so.

**And yes the second one is tipping over, but still. I want what the sign says gosh dammit.

I'm with you about Boston and NYR, but Pitt is used to being in the hotseat, and I think they are itching to bring the Stanley cup back home!

Nashville over Pittsburgh. Actually, I have NO idea and no feel for how these playoffs are going to shake out. I could see 3-4 upsets in the first round as well as just going chalk for the whole thing. That always makes for a good playoff.

Obviously you do or you wouldn't have made a poll asking "who wins the cup?" See I know this is not directly addressed to me, but when you tagged it "Locker Room" you are asking all of us the question. If you had tagged it appropriately "NHL," I would not have seen this poll and we would not be having this conversation. The people who take, make, and care about NHL polls would be the ones seeing it.

I could see your Rangers winning the SC if Lundqvist continues to stand on his head.  As long as it's not Detroit or Vancouver, I'll be cool.

I tag all of my Polls in the Locker Room so that I can enjoy the likes of comments from non NHL fans like yourself.  (lol)

There is no right or wrong way to tag a poll...........especially if you are one that spends most of their time in the Locker Room and not much time anywhere else.

If there is a RIGHT way to tag a poll, I'm not going to play by those rules.........call me rebellious! surprise

I am not saying you tagged it wrong, or that there is a proper way to tag a poll. I picked a winner, I think I picked the team that won it all last year. But as far as I am concerned you might as well listed 16 cricket teams, because I know about as much about the NHL as I do cricket. And I have probably watched as many NHL games as I have cricket games in the 37 years of my life.

I'll get on that Cricket poll next!  wink

BTW - You may be surprised if you started watching more NHL games......it's pretty badass!  There are plenty of us on here that could help speed up the learning curve for ya too, which is the biggest obstacle for most people.

I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin

Well, if the seasons best performing team in the west plays the best performing team in the east, the Blues will meet the Rangers with the Rangers taking the Cup I think.  But how often do the best teams meet in the Finals?  Not very bloody often!  So here's hoping the Sharks upset everyone all the way to the Cup!

There IS a wrong way to tag a poll.  I ain't mad atcha for the NHL thing in the locker room...but seriously, if this was tagged NFL or some stupid s**t, that would be wrong.

That being said, I think Shea Weber should hoist the cup this year.  And he agrees.

Kevin, i JUST started watching hockey like four years ago.  I couldn't have cared less about it prior to then.  Now I like it as well as college basketball, if not better.  And this is coming from a girl who lives and breathes college basketball.

This team is going into the playoffs healthy and it's 2009 all over again starting with the Flyers.  This team is going in knowing they CAN beat the dirty SOBs from Philly in the Consol Energy Center, and while it'll be a tough series, the Pens are the better overall team.  If they do indeed get past the Flyers, which they SHOULD, the Pens are going to the Stanley Cup Finals.  The only way the Rangers represent the Eastern Conference is if they don't have to play the Pens.

Kinda have to agree with ya there, Bryan...two teams I really feared the Rangers playing are the Savers (always have Rangers # in the playoffs) and the Penguins, who are hitting on all cylinders now and pretty handily beat Biron the last two times they played. Lundqvist had the flu and the wrist injury, keeping the King on the bench. I LOVE playoff hockey!

They beat Lundqvist twice too this year, pretty handedly shut the whole team down 4 straight times.  The one team I don't wanna face is Ottawa, so your Rangers better win that series.  That's the one team that completely killed the Pens all year.
