Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I hate and love this place so much.

When learning about driving at a young age, while talking to my grandpa, I asked about the different colors on a traffic light.  He said "You know that the green light means go, and the red light means stop, what does the yellow mean?" I replied "slow down?" He chuckled and said "No. It means Go like h*ll the red lights coming!" No truer words have ever been spoken!

Morning Q'rs I'm sick, the kind where I actually broke down and made aDr's appointment sick on a Saturday...Ash?, do you copy and paste that opening? (I'm sure you do, but the question was tickling my brain) , your poll options spoke to me, (so thanks). I want to say that my sisters 3 are doing well which makes my heart happy and that with good comes bad, the ex called, he was at the er with heart trouble and wanted my help, (god help me the evil thoughts I had, considering the angst he put us through last year), but I went and did what I could, brought the boys for a visit after he was admitted, best visit in forever! So, I hope everyone has a great weekend and dont forget your DD.....PEACE

... 6th, I'll take it.

ATL Hawks, Braves, LA Kings/Lakers/Dodgers win. Sharks and others who we dare not speak of, lose. Falcons, you had me at ' I think we should try to get an NFL team here in Atlanta' 38 years ago.  yes

New bass player was a nice surprise. We had jammed with him about a year or so ago. Young dude with a  bunch of talent, energy, and is laid back. No drama. ii liikie no drama, friiind.

I want a Kings win tonight. I want Richards to jack someone once more (at least) and Penner scoring again in this game would be a pleasant shocker. Need 6 Kings 5 minutes into the first period. My nerves need the break. This hockey watching ain't for sissies.

Hope your guys have a great weekend, later.

Morning, Everybodee!

Is it 4:30 yet?

youngfool is coming home for the weekend.  Younger son turns 17 tomorrow.  I won't have to put up with him, as I'll be at Disneyland with daughter.  (I did offer for him to come along, but first thing would be hanging around a choir competition performance, then basically putting up with his sister for a good portion of the day.  He decided to stay home.)

Heading out tonight with friends for a Birthday celebration............I need to find the will power to NOT do any tequila shots tonight!  I get into situations when I have more than 3 of those f**kers!

So, I've taken my workouts a step further!  When I'm not at the gym, and when I'm on the internet, I found a way to do some exercises! Thought I'd share with those that want to improve their neck muscles!

3 unbelievable playoff hockey games last night, one of them going to double OT, and which team or player gets on the front page of ESPN.com?  A couple guys from the Bulls who I guess beat the Heat in a regular season NBA game. Ok terrific.
The games were fantastic.  If you've never watched a hockey game, and can't make it to one live, watch a playoff game.  It absolutely dwarfs the action, speed, competitiveness, passion of every other sport put together.

One of my favorite podcasts is How Did This Get Made with Paul Scheer (Andre from The League), Jason Mantzoukas (Rafi from the League) and June Diane Raphael (from NTSF:SD:SUV) where they pick a movie and talk about how in the world did it get made.. I'm listening to the episode for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1, and I can't stop laughing.  For as much of a movie snob as I am, I LOVE awful movies yes

I think I double booked my friday night.  On one hand, we have the Rockies and D-Backs game, and on the other we have a metalcore concert featuring Escape the Fate, Attack Attack!, Mest, The Word Alive and Secrets..  I need to figure that out.. Too bad they are at the same time as the concert hall is 2 blocks from Coors Field

I really liked the Descendants, but it was completely overrated

Jesus was a black man? Elijah would be the ni** at the door? I heart Louis Farrakhan

He Is Risen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bittersweet Friday folks....

My Irish lost their best player.  Aaron Lynch is transferring to a school back in Florida (where his fiancee lives).  Young love....I'll never fully understand it.  Who the hell wants to get married at 19?  I'm 31 and barely ready....but I digress.....

Bulls beat the Heat even with Rose playing the worst game of his career.  "The Bench Mob" did what they do....and thats TCOB.  I LOVE this team.  Because we're just that - a "team"

Hawks lost in OT to the Yotes.  Good to see Toews play well.  The officiating wan't terrible, but they missed a blatant too many men on the ice call that led to a Phoenix goal.  We'll get them tomorrow night, no doubt.  I expect an offensive explosion.

Cubs waxed the Brewers to the tune of 8-0.  On pace to win 70 games....yeeeaahhhhh buddy!

I saw this picture and had to laugh.  After watching Can't Hardly Wait in high school, I went out and bought a chain like the one in the pic....and rocked it with a Master Lock.  My friends pretty much refused to go out in public with me when I wore it....which was only a handful of times.

I'm going to go see Cabin in the Woods today, and no I'm not just going because "Thor's" in it. (well......that is the main reason but I've heard good stuff about the movie. Whedon is pretty good at what he does. Oh....and Thor is in it. )

And later I'm going to watch the Kings take on the Canucks again. I'll probably need to be "medicated" at some point during the game. I hope the Kings tweeter maintains his or her "funny." The fact that a bunch of hoopla was created over a tweet that was pretty much true just makes me hate the Canucks and their fans more....even this young one. (though when I first saw this I chuckled for a while. lol....and like I read from another Kings fan.....I bet there would be more outrage over Weber's weak fine if he poked fun at BC. Ridiculous.)

Oh, I let Shanahan have it on his twitter account!    He probably has some clown doing all of his posts and reading for him, but, I don't care!  I felt better after posting it!

The other sad thing is that Bitz only received 2 games..........and that's probably because he's a nobody! Which means, if that were Burrows or Kesler or one of their main guys that did that, it would of probably only been a fine as well.

The rules should not change just because it's the playoffs!   There's just way too much inconsistency with the punishments in the NHL!  I would LOVE heart to have Shanahan's job!!

Great games last night even if the teams I have a mild interest in didn't all win. I've heard a ton of great stuff about HBO's rude & crude "Girls" show debuting on Sunday. Who doesn't like young ladies with potty mouths? No one, that's who. Can't wait. And lastly this fictional character birthday calendar. Every day of the year including leap year, lol. Kinda cool and kinda fascinating. I did NOT know Oscar the Grouch and Don Draper had the same birthday?

See, I'm taking the wait and see approach with Girls... I watched Tiny Furniture a few weeks back (the little movie Lena Dunham wrote, starred in and directed) and although I loved the situations and premise, the writing and her didn't pull it off for me.  I hope the supporting cast is strong

Thanks.  Just putting it out there in case.  It's been nice.

I had my first cocktail before noon today.  It was a pixie stick martini.  Quite yummy.  Then I had a bourbon apple cider.  Then i started drinking chambord margaritas.  And my server was smokin' hot.  She and I have a movie date tomorrow night.  And I'm STILL tipsy.

Join the club sad Good thing is I have never smoked, but these days I've been feeling  like if I had smoked, drunk and party since I was 3 months old . Get well soon.

Have a great weekend everyone. If you smoke, party and drink, do it in moderation...or not. I'm boringsad

I didn't know that teenagers were throwing parties. When I was in high school/college, we just called that a great Friday/Saturday night.

For you parents out there that are worried about your children heading down the wrong paths(sex and drugs). Do not let your kids get a job in the restaurant industry then. I have seen a lot of innocent and naive kids start working in restaurants and within six months these kids are using drugs and having sex , while mom and dad just think that  it is great that their little angel is working.

No doubt.  Just hanging out with friends who worked in the restaurant ruined me.  I used to be a good girl.

Good news:
  • I collected on my March Madness lunch bet today
  • Braden Holtby
  • Community: Awesome as always
  • IndyCar this weekend at Long Beach
Bad news:
  • The Caps needed to steal that game and didn't
  • Weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend, but I have class all day tomorrow and will need to study most of Sunday

See look at poor sweet innocent Christi, who knows where she might be in life if it weren't for the restaurant industry. Now she is working on her Doctorate degree, drinking before noon on a Friday afternoon, and picking up strangers at lunch in the middle of the day! I am sorry Christi, for the path of evil that the restaurant industry has lead you down!

On a side note, I might be making a hunt around Flag for these..

Youngfool made it safely.  And though the wife got turned around downtown due to construction, she was able to make it to the train station to pick him up.

Adding to the good news...A new personal best at running 2 miles (on the treadmill). Knowing I can still push myself further safely is huge as a heart patient.

See, I'm taking the wait and see approach with Girls... I watched Tiny Furniture a few weeks back (the little movie Lena Dunham wrote, starred in and directed) and although I loved the situations and premise, the writing and her didn't pull it off for me.  I hope the supporting cast is strong
I was gonna watch it this weekend, but i may pass now and just wait for the show. (You're usually spot on.) I don't want any ill will going in to it especially since every TV person I follow loved it a little too much.

Best i can tell it's urban legend-ish, popularized by Oprah and other media folks that caused and are reigniting some kind of "moral panic." Articles in NYTimes, Slate, Reason, etc. kinda made it seem like, at best, is was an isolated thing (think Spur Posse scoring) and even less of a real problem than those pill parties which are really effing dangerous.

My reasoning is that if these parties were real/popular/ a "thing" there would be a gazillion pics on the web by now. a double gazillion even. There is now way with every person under the age of twenty with a cam on their phone NOT to have sent it around to everyone they know. there is absolutely NO WAY teens keep anything widespread a secret.

I'd file this phenomena with sex bracelets, snuff films, vodka tampons, drinking cold beverage makes food you eat a gelatinous health risk, etc. in the same bin.

That may be so .. .and I'm hoping. But, the way my friend found out about it was through her stepkid, so even if it is urband legend-ish...the kids are talking about it now, so that's scary. If they weren't happening before, there's a good chance they will...in some circles anyway indecision

Well, one more day of "puppy sitting". We are volunteer puppy raisers for The Seeing Eye of Morristown, NJ. We are awaiting placement of a puppy, but have been sitting for a 9 week old shepherd with RAZOR SHARP teeth. He goes back to his raisers tomorrow. We've got two chihuahuas who are funny...one growls at the puppy and tries to show his dominance, and the other is petrified of the puppy. The puppy only wants to play, and with the swipe of his paw pushes the "pack leader" (who's also an instigator) about 3 feet across the floor.

that's the problem with having the media fuss about these kinds of things every 5-6 years. Eventually it will get the attention of the kids, who never even heard of it before, to start talking about it and try it. It's on a new cycle of sensationalize (social) media coverage. Copycats need something to copy. It's the same reason why sporting events quit putting streakers and nut jobs on screen, eventually it just became a few and far between thing of the past. You're right Jess, this is just stroking the flames of some urban myth.
