Things I've Learned 4/29/12
                                                                     Things I've Learned 4/29/12 Photo

Semi F/E ish but hopefully not as elongated.  I kind of got the idea the other day (or the idea was offered to me) as I was making up rumours.  So I wil do basically just whatever i think i learned today (either q or real life or whereever) and feel free to do the same.

Happy New Year!!  (my last TIL was Boxing Day)

I haven't dated anyone in 3 years.  Dates, Yes, Dated, No.

Sleep is not overrated.

Rumor:  The NBA playoffs have started....

and....

I'm sure more to follow.

Some "bots" are very sensitive and turn ugly when games don't turn their way.
I really love it when some people pick the Kings to lose. Gives me a tingle.
The Coyotes are for real (knew that, but I think many others are just finding this out).
Jamba Juice ....Aloha Pineapple.....makes things happen.
I could watch Darryl Sutter answer questions all day. lol

A Recent Post of mine that hasn't worked out:

I have decided I am Awesome. I expect, nay demand, the masses to adore and amuse me daily. Please pass along so everyone has the memo.

If I lived in Indianapolis, I would be in so much trouble.

I used to yell at refs because I thought they were wrong.  Now that I am a ref, I yell at them because I know they are wrong.

Anyone Zoosk?  Is it any good?

Not sure I have ever spent a paycheck faster than the one I just did.  Seriously.

If  you've missed me, sorry I haven't been around.  That's how busy I am.  I barely find time to take polls on here.  Lived in a new place for 2 months, just had my kids for the second time, and I've almost got all my boxes unpacked.  However there have been sexual relations here.  go figure.

Ask me anything, I'm bored.

If you were an NBA Coach and your star player had missed the past 3-4 weeks with injuries and your team saw a 21 pt lead dwindle down to 14, would you keep your star player in the game with 1:30 left?

Yes.

I know you've probably heard it, but the coach gave the right answers.  And even the analysts on ESPN radio I would agree with:  Keep him to throw off some of the rust.  The Pacers blew that lead also.  And the Injury could've happened in warm-ups.

I am in a relationship with a girl for the first time in my life and I like it.  Something I said I'd "never" do.
#7 | 388 days ago

Trashing a sport without prompting is annoying.

Not surprisingly, it's people that are solely or close to solely football fans that do the former the most.

NASCAR fans want more cautions, while IndyCar fans want less of them. I still have yet to learn exactly why the former is true.

1 - my daughter will wait until I'm on the phone to find something urgent she wants from me (I've suspected this, but today it's been horrible)

2 - I could probably sleep a full 36-48 hours and still be a little bit tired. My system is all whacked out.

3 - My basset hound doesn't like Cran-Apple juice as much as he likes coffee. (I'm sick of pouring out my drinks every time I get up to do something)

I might have more but not today. I didn't do or learn a whole lot.

*I* don't want more cautions and I don't think any fan does.  We want close, exciting racing, and it seems we don't get that, so the only way to get the cars back together on the track to give us that close racing is to throw a caution and bunch the cars all up again.  It really isn't rocket science, I promise.

Agreed. I forgot to mention that I also learned that one of the things I'm going to miss the most (I knew I would miss them, but not as much as I realized tonight) is the fireflies. They're going nuts tonight, sparkling like crazy out in the mangroves in my backyard. Looking out at them is like looking at the sky with millions of stars...just beautiful.

I also learned this weekend that I am incapable of leaving the Draw Something app if there are games waiting for me to take my turn. If I do the last one and think I finish up, and then it's my turn in another game after I click send, I can't turn it off. I can't turn it off until my board is completely clean. This tends to keep me up longer than I intend (ok let's face it I would be up anyway, this just gives me a reason).

I think it was just a matter of time.  Rose has endured injuries to his groin, hamstring, toe, and back in the last calendar year.  All of those injuries put instability on the knee.  All of it is connected, especially with the condensed schedule.  He needed to be shutdown for a few months but they kept bringing him back.  It's a shame and really puts a damper on our title hopes, but thankfully, players come back from ACL injuries these days with relative ease.

If we lose one of these playoff rounds, I just don't want to read or hear Chicago fans using the excuse that we lost because of Rose's injury!

We have a deep bench and should have a legitimate shot at reaching the finals!

Love the optimism, but we aren't beating the Heat without Rose.  The regular season and playoffs are two different animals.  Sorry, don't mean to be "that guy."  I REALLY hope I'm wrong.  I'd love nothing more than to eat crow....just can't see it happening.

I would agree with you to a certain extent.

Yes, it will be very difficult to beat Miami without our #1 player, BUT, our bench is soo deep that I think we could still do it.

Now, of course, all of our guys will need to be on their game for each game of the series, but, Boozer is a much better player this year, Deng has been clutch all year, Watson has stepped up his game and so has that little water bug, JLIII! When Korver is on, it rains 3's all night long!  We have to keep up that defensive aggressiveness and I think we will be ok?

I will be cautiously optismistic of our chances versus Miami, if indeed it comes to that!

Let's put it this way, if it's not our year to reach the Finals, then I want us to lose before it get's to the Conference Finals! I would rather bow out to another team than to lose to Miami without Rose.

I'm no fan of Lebron, but I'd hate to see that happen.  Either way, if he did sustain an ACL tear, the odds of the Thunder, Lakers, or Spurs winning it all would increase tenfold.

It is different with every person I date.  With Mariah, we clicked the day we met, so it doesn't surprise me that we're together so quickly.  Others, it takes longer for that level of comfort to fall into place.

My parents were engaged after 3 weeks...married for almost 34 years.  Some of the people I've dated, I think they'd still be an enigma to me after 34 years.  So who really knows?
