Ryan Leaf was in court today for stealing painkillers. The best thing about this is finding out that Montana still has prisoners dress up like the Hamburglar.

I want some!

according to my southern living mag,

1. It's never too soon to write a thank you note. (I'm gonna start carrying them in my purse and randomly giving them out, I think. It always tickles me when people do that to me, and it reminds me of the Psych episode with the dude from Happily Divorced.)
2. Southerners never put dark meat in their chicken salad and always use real mayonnaise.
3. A real Southern girl should own an iced-tea pitcher and a deviled-egg plate. (Um, I never make either, but I do own these :| )

Morning gorgeus!

I'm adjusting to my new schedules and routines now that I left my beloved school. The new job is relatively easy, I need to learn a few things but it's OK. What I liked is my new boss wants me and my new partner use our programming skills to make some processes more efficient. I'm a little bit rusty on that but I'll have to catch up and I'm taking care of it. I still have to deliver some grades and material to my substitutes so I can be finally in peace with school issues.

Have fun, make someone happy today.

You all know I heartyou. Hugs & kissses.

Ciò che succede delle femmine?!?!

The Bulls avoided elimination last night by beating Philly!  Back to Philly for game 6 tomorrow!  Still an uphill battle but at least there is a glimpse of hope!

Went to the Cubs-Braves game last night!  Atlanta was the better team, winning 3-1!    The wind was howling out at 15mph and yet, no one hit a home run!  If it weren't for bad luck, Ryan Dempster would have no luck at all!  He brought a 0.96 ERA into last night's game but was 0-1 and the Cubs have only scored 2 runs in his 3 games, prior to last night.  UGH!

Here are some pics for you Braves fans;

and, WTF is this?!??!   I went to use the bathroom and apparently, someone forgot their skivies or they SH** their pants!  lol   Not sure if Captain Morgan played a part in it or what!

TEWLFTH!!!

Devils won last night, and while I HATE the Flyers, I kinda hoped that they would get to play against that GREAT team, the Rangers, in the Eastern Conference Finals.  Speaking of the Rangers, I think they're primed to win Game 6 and finish off the Caps tonight.  They shot an odd angle shot on Monday and guess what happened?  They scored!  They have been shooting the puck lately.  As I posted yeaterday, I think for the Caps that giving up the tying goal with 6.6 seconds left and then losing in OT took the wind out of their sails.

Miserable, rainy April day out there..oh wait...it's MAY!  We already HAD May weather in APRIL this year, so I guess paybacks are a b!tch...

Went to see The Coco at Hartsfield last night cuz she had a killer layover on her way home from down under. I was legitimately concerned for her safety when she went incommunicado for a few weeks. #DatChickCray

Someone asked me the other day if I had a resume (hey you should forward it to me) while I was out with friends and friends of friends talking about work crap. I haven't updated mine or needed too since 1994
1. I've basically had 3 different jobs / careers since then.
2. I wouldn't mind trying something new.
3. i don't think i own a suit that fits. I haven't worn one in years. (I did just buy a shirt and tie for Skype meetings tho. Ash , Paula et al. gave it the thumbs up. So there's that.)
4. the resume i tracked down is SOOOOOOOO dated it's actually kind of hysterical. If it wasn't so embarrassing I'd post a .pdf

i'm out of coffee. I need to walk over to Starbucks for the re-up. That is all.

There was NO attempted "Seinfeld Layover' or subsequent pilot-eye-ballin'-me popsicle-block either.  She went on the cheap, so she had horrible connections thru Hawaii, LAX, ATL, & Toronto. She had a weird PTSD/person on survivor gets to eat real food and meet family vibe going on. It was like the immunity challenge win part of her trip home lol. Frazzled, sort of over happy and a bit delirious from sleep deprivation. The lesson here is DO NOT buy the cheapest ticket on travelocity for a flight(s) around the world.

It holds the corn meal together... here's a recipe that calls for two eggs. OMG.

SAUSAGE CORNBREAD BAKE

1 lb. bulk sausage (or Italian sausage, mashed and with casings removed)
1 large onion, chopped
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cup self-rising corn meal mix
1 (17 oz) can of cream style corn
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup oil (vegetable or canola)
8 oz (2 cups) shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 425°F.
Grease a 10-inch ovenproof skillet or 2 qt. baking dish.

In medium skillet, brown sausage and onion; drain well.

In large bowl, combine eggs, corn meal mix, corn, milk, and oil.

Pour half of the corn meal mixture into a greased pan; sprinkle with sausage mixture and cheese. Pour remaining batter over top.

Bake for 30-40 minutes.

Let stand 10 minutes.

Serves 6-8.

Sweet Baby Jesus... wink

Oh wow....I have a little southerner in my soul! I never put dark meat in anything though...ick. I have an iced-tea pitcher (three of them actually, as well as a brewer), and a deviled egg plate. I've had all of these years before I moved south. Look at me go.

Hi Q'Lets!
I'm SO happy with The Voice. I hate that Chris Mann made it as far as he did, but hearing Carson say his name first made my heart happy and proud of the voters.

For some reason I took a little hiatus from Draw Something - I think I had too many "turns" to take and it freaked me out. I'm back up and running though.

I just got back in touch with an old friend I'd lost track of over the years. He and his family were closer to my ex, and when I was going through the weirdness during and after my divorce I drove a wedge between us for no reason other than the fact that I was being self absorbed and trying to break away from everything associated with my ex. Anyway, a few back and forth messages with him catching up and addressing the past have made me so happy. He and his family are great people and when I look at my past they were one of the very few bright parts about that time in my life. I've been talking to his daughter on FB for about a year now, which has been great too. This type of stuff reminds me of the good that FB can bring to our lives, and one of the many reasons I have one. It's great for the soul to keep good friends close and re-acquaint with those we've thought we've lost along the way.

I need to figure out a good time and good place to go where I can interact with some dolphins (the sea mammals, not the football players) before I move in just over a month. It's crunch time and that was my ONE thing I wanted to do...and haven't done yet.

Here's my song for today:

Slipknot: Vermillion Pt 2

She seemed dressed in all of me
Stretched across my shame,
All the torment and the pain
Leaked through and covered me.

I'd do anything to have her to myself,
Just to have her for myself.

Now I don't know what to do,
I don't know what to do
When she makes me sad.

She is everything to me,
The unrequited dream,
The song that no one sings,
The unattainable.
She's a myth that I have to believe in,
All I need to make it real is one more reason.

I don't know what to do,
I don't know what to do when she makes me sad.

But I won't let this build up inside of me.
I won't let this build up inside of me.
I won't let this build up inside of me.
I won't let this build up inside of me.

A catch in my throat, choke,
Torn into pieces, I won't. No.

I don't want to be this but
I won't let this build up inside of me (won't let this build up inside of me) x4

She isn't real.
I can't make her real.
She isn't real.
I can't make her real.
If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree...

I really don't have s**t.. how about a song?

Interpol - Take You on a Cruise

I'm timeless like a broken watch
And make money like Fred Astaire
I see that you've come to resist me
I'm a pitbull in time
The pretence is not what restricts me
It's the circles inside
An anatomy of kisses
And a teacher who tries
And knows how we'll disappear
Would you like to be my Missus
And a future with child
You know we can't get back from here
We can get away

Baby won't you try to find me
Baby won't you try to fight
Baby won't you try to find me
Maybe it will be alright

Along the way
Tears drown in the wake of delight
There's nothing like this built today
You'll never see a finer ship in your life
We sail today
Tears drown in the wake of delight
There's nothing like this built today
You'll never see a finer ship
Or see a better tip in your life

I am the scavenger
Between the sheets of union
Lately I can't tell for sure
whether machines turn anyone
Are you the scavenger?
Between the sheets of union
Lately I can't tell for sure
whether machines turn anyone

Lady won't you try to find me
Lady there is no need to fight
Lady won't you try to find me
Lady it will be alright

We sail today
Tears drown in in the wake of delight
There's nothing like this built today
You'll never see a finer ship in your life
Along the way
The sea will crowd us with lovers at night
There's nothing like this built today
You'll never see a finer ship
Or receive a better tip in your life

I see that you've come to resist me
I'm a pitbull in time

White Goddess, red Goddess
Black temptress of the sea, you treat me right
Black Goddess, red Goddess
White temptress of the sea, you treat me right

Oh my love is sailing to Norway.
All my love we're leaving tonight

White Goddess, black Goddess
Red temptress of the sea, you treat me right
White Goddess, red Goddess
Black Temptress of the sea, you treat me right

Nick I agree with BK - and all of you should start jotting down your sports thoughts into "articles" or "blogs" on here more often. It's not like it has to be a big long wordy article - even just as much as you write here in comments sometimes would work beautifully. Don't let the big long perspective posts intimidate you (yes, I know I need to take my own advice on this too).

You never know when something you wrote could get featured. cheeky

Shout Outs for 9 May:

Shout out to the NBA'S Pacers, Hawks, even Chicago, for getting the job done - unlike the Purp & Gold, which looked a bit, how can I say this without being too dramatically harsh...WEAK!!   Sad.

Shout out to John Travolta...not really.  Wow, Vinny Barbarino is on the DL.  He says they are all lies, but sounds too similar.

Shout out to Josh Hamilton...dude is a beast!! FOUR 2-Run Homers plus a double...18 total bases...Yeah, he's bad!!

Shout out to Cris Carter for calling his own "bounties" while in the league - let's see Goddell ban him!!

Shout out to my peeps: Kat, Ash, Becks, #1, Debbie, Mikey, Kev, Sid, Kenne, Deja, Debi, Leigh, NYCE, Alain, Ronny, Bobby, Ricky and Mike, Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, Randy, Rebi, LaToya, Janet, Larry, Moe and Curly!

One of my most favorite songs of all-time and it's exactly how I've been feeling about someone for a very long time.

This is another sad song sung by Corey Taylor that I find amazing:

Zzyxz Road --Stone Sour

I don't know how else to put this.
It's taking me so long to do this.
I'm falling asleep and I can't see straight.

My muscles feel like a melee,
My body's curled in a U-shape.
I put on my best, but I'm still afraid.

Propped up by lies and promises.
Saving my place as life forgets.
Maybe it's time I saw the world.

I'm only here for a while.
And patience is not my style,
And I'm so tired that I got to go.

Where am I supposed to hide now?
What am I supposed to do?
Did you really think I wouldn't see this through?

Tell me I should stick around for you.
Tell me I can have it all.
I'm still too tired to care and I got to go.

I get to go home in one week.
But I'm leaving home in three weeks.
They throw me a bone just to pick me dry.

I'm following suit and directions.
I crawl up inside for protection.
I'm told what to do and I don't know why.

I'm over-existing in limbo
I'm over the myths and placebos
I don't really mind if I just fade away

I'm ready to live with my family.
I'm ready to die in obscurity
Cause I'm so tired that I got to go.

Where am I supposed to hide now?
What am I supposed to do?
You still don't think I'm gonna see this through.

Tell me I'm a part of history.
Tell me I can have it all.
I'm still too tired to care and I got to go.

Oh and today is Steve Yzerman and Billy Joel's Birthday, two of my favorites.

In honor of Billy Joel's Birthday I'll post the karaoke song of his I sing almost every week:

Piano Man--Billy Joel

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."

la la la, di da da
La la, di di da da dum

Chorus:
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us all feelin' all right

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke and he'll light up your smoke
But there's some place that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As his smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin' with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessman slowly gets stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

Chorus
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
well we're all in the mood for a melody
and you got us all feeling alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about their life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Chorus:
sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
well we're all in the mood for a melody
and you got us all feeling alright
Row row row your boat...

Stone Sour - Bother

Wish I was too dead to cry
My self-affliction fades
Stones to throw at my creator
Masochists to which I cater

You don't need to bother, I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on, I won't let go til it bleeds

Wish I was too dead to care
If indeed I cared at all
Never had a voice to protest
So you fed me **** to digest
I wish I had a reason, my flaws are open season
For this, I gave up trying
One good turn deserves my dying

You don't need to bother, I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on, I won't let go til it bleeds

Wish I'd died instead of lived
A zombie hides my face
Shell forgotten with its memories
Diaries left with cryptic entries

And you don't need to bother, I don't need to be
I'll keep slipping farther
But once I hold on, I won't let go til it bleeds

You don't need to bother, I don't need to be
I'll keep on slipping farther
But once I hold on
I'll never live down my deceit

Afternoon.

Stayed up late last night playing poker, around 5am, but placed 2nd in a tourney (even when my internet got cut out for about 20 minutes during the final table), so I'm okay I did it.

Made 3 emails and 3 phone calls for apartments today - I think that's enough. I hate looking for apartments.

This song came up on my iTunes shuffle sometime last night, and I put it on repeat for a few hours. Probably watching 50/50 tonight (even though I've been wanting to watch 'Adam' for a week and still haven't gotten around to it).

Going to a Twins game on Saturday, they won last night, which was weird to see.

underneath the stream, ha ha i fooled you, i'm a submarine.

My lacrosse game has been canceled for the evening.  swell.

i think i'm officially sick of North Carolina.

Braves won.

I went to my first waffle house ever.  Better than I expected.  my expectations weren't high at all.

Maybe I'll go drink.

My favorite Stone Sour:

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of folks

So while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins, contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart
But never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)

Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home

The stars that shine for you, yeah
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah

And it's the stars

The stars that lie to you, yeah yeah

Who are the stars?
Who are the stars that lie?

Cranky today. Amendment One pissed me off. Metro delays piss me off. This feeling I have something bad is going to happen to me soon pisses me off and worries me at the same time. The fact I jinxed the Orioles already pisses me off. The fact no one read my piece that jinxed the Orioles pisses me off. The fact that I don't pick up social cues very well pisses me off, and the fact that I keep letting myself get distracted from studying pisses me off.

Oh yeah, Game 6 is tonight. Since I'm behind on studying, not sure I'll even bother.

Buenos Dias, $h*theads!

I don't have a lot today, so I'll give you this:

Last night my wife and I watched the original Die Hard movie.  At the end, when Alan (Hans) Rickman loses his grip and falls from the tower, my wife pops in with "Thats what you get for killing Dumbledore, you b*st*rd".

Gotta love her.

indecision I have no idea - I have an inkling it has something to do with season one and season two, total and separate but your top left number is a bigger number than the top right and mine is backwards; my top right number is bigger, so I really have no clue.

Mine is opposite too - and look at her number when you hover over her profile pic anywhere - it isn't the same as either one of those; mine at least matches my top left.  Hers is much larger than either one.

So confusing.

Well, her top left screenshot is 2,077 while if I hover over her profile pic it currently says 2,080, so that just means she got 3 respect since.

So I guess that's the same for all three of us (the top left number being equal to the profile pic hover).

Jess, I always thought that the number on my right was the # of pages that hold the Respects , and the # on the left is the actual amount received. Am I anywhere close?

Oh I think I might have been looking at her QBucks - my mistake.

So yea, the popup on all of ours matches the top left. I have no idea what number the top right is showing, other than that it's bizarre that Christi's is a smaller number than her top left and ours is the other way around.

Linda - Hmm...I don't think so; my top right page shows over 89,500 and the top left shows 20,675-ish, so that would be weird if I had more pages that have respects than I have respects total.. I really think both numbers should probably match but there's a glitch somewhere or one number is showing total from both season one and season two and the other is just season two or something. It's a mystery.

I think the total on the right side is the respect system using "SFBPQ," and the total on the left is for all respects under both systems. So for those of you that have never gotten rid of their account/reactivated them if you did leave, your total on the right would be higher. Just my guess as to why they are different.

Before I went all ADHD and my train of thought got all fubarred (is that even a word?), here's where my brain was headed:

1.  Normally, I like for my team to lose to the champions.  That said, I'm making an exception this year.  I do not want the Yotes to win the Cup.  I want for the Kings to win the Cup.  Just cuz I think it would be fun to see Becky celebrate.
2.  I have decided that I want to vacation in Mexico City.  Normally (did I really just use that word a 2nd time in one post?), I'm just a tad bit agoraphobic and I can suck it up for a place that sits on top of the effing center of the Aztec empire.
3.  I just finished reading The Hunger Games.  Great book.  It was a pretty quick read, although I didn't get through it like gangbusters.  However, I am reading through book two (Catching Fire) like there is no tomorrow.  And I'm glad payday is just two days away, because I NEED BOOK THREE.  I gotta see how this motherf**ker ends.
4.  My next book, even though I have 500 books I bought at various book sales for dirt cheep, is getting checked out from the library.  It's called Article Five.  Another distopian.  It's had mixed reviews.  More on that later.  I just hope I can move through the other stack of books fairly quickly.  Doubtful, though, since one of them is 896 pages.

I just want to see Becky have to go get a tattoo. She has said numerous times that she is getting one when/if the Kings win the Cup.

I have a file for book 3 that I got from Nellie I could probably send you. I'm not sure what system you use, but I was able to load it up right into my nook under "My Files" and it showed up just like the regular book would have. Let me know if you want it and I can email it to you :)
I'm sure I do want it.  I'll message you my email.  I might need to calm down from reading book 2 for a day or so, though.  I've found myself wanting to beat some people up throughout the course of events in this book.

Yes - and it gets even worse...and darker. But it's so good all the way through the series. Thoroughly enjoyable. My husband is in the middle of the games now in Catching Fire - it didn't take him long at all to read through the first book and half of this one, and he's not big into reading.

Yeah you were within 200 when I voted, the last time I saw it you were behind over 250 votes.

Yeah.  There's just something about that last line in the 2nd book that just makes you want to scramble for the third book ASAP.  (No peeking ahead, Christi.)

Sure! Which ones?  My pics from the Dodgers game that I posted on Monday? The ones from today? or both?
You pick.  If you want to do both even better.  I've been mentioning every week that I want to add more personal flavor to QTWIB.  Here's basically what I say at the end of every installment...

"When you (in general) go to a baseball game this year, take a camera.  Snap a few pics, come home and write an article.  Then link me to it and I will a) feature it on the front page and b) guarantee you'll be featured in the next installment of FanIQ This Week in Baseball."

I figured as much.  Each word in the 2nd book has me hanging on for dear life.  I won't peak ahead.  I don't want to ruin the experience for myself.
