Go see your mom...call your mom...email your mom...do something for your mom.  For f**k's sake she didn't abort you or give your dumb a$$ up for adoption.   If she did then you were probably an ugly baby and nothing is worse than an ugly baby.

Thank goodness my mom's an even crazier Kings fan than myself. She doesn't want to do anything but go to church (my job to take her and a little dash of holy water on whatever I have that is Kings related doesn't hurt...lol), her pre-game ritual, and watch the game. SCORE......this really irritates my older sis. Apparently this is NOT her idea of a good Mother's Day.....ha ha nephews. lol

68 years old and still swinging...

And check out the card I made her with my class.

Thank God, for two little boys that think Mothers Day is a 2 day event! I got waffles and coffee in bed this morning! I also received 4 new plants (science experiments). I'm told if I think this is wonderful, just wait til tomorrow! Happy Mothers day to everyone!

Where I live, Mother is half a word......

My Mom had knee replacement surgery yesterday, so she'll be spending Mother's Day in the hospital.  Since she lives 2500 miles away, I won't be going to visit, but I'll call.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there!
Hi mom!

Happy Mother's Day Eve, ladies! laugh

My mom headed to Wisconsin to spend it with her mom, so, I will not be seeing her tomorrow.

I am grateful for all that my mom has done for me over the years.

I am also grateful to other moms out there that have done a lot to for me. wink

Hope all of the Q MOM's on here have a terrific weekend and that it's peaceful and relaxing for you!  You all deserve it! Some, more than others!

Morning, Everybodee!

Youngfool finally made it home last night.  Just in time for Mother's day.  (My wife is so happy.)   (As a side note, since she's mexican, she celebrates both Mother's days.  She's earned it.)

Choir concert last night was pretty good.  I've got to get the photos from my camera and get copies to the director.  I'm also gifting a set to the 5 graduating choir seniors as well.

Let the weekend continue.
#10 | 372 days ago

I kept forgetting when Mothers Day was, since my mother is no longer around. Studying is consuming most of my weekend anyway. That is, if I can stop watching cars practice for the Indy 500 (today is Opening Day at the track).
#11 | 372 days ago

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all of you mothers here, and yes I will remember to call my mom. It's pretty much a weekly event anyway (sometimes more) just to chit chat. I just hope she doesn't have a houseful tomorrow to cook and clean for, and can take some time off from cooking for, cleaning up after, and waiting on everybody else. Wish I was there to do it for her, but a phone call will do, and of course a surprise in the mail.

I'm tired of waking up with a headache. I think I need new pillows.

I'll probably be dinking around here all day today. I wanted to go to the beach on one of my last tropical weekends but the weather isn't cooperating.

Have a great day, everyone! I'll see ya around.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Q moms!  My mother went to Florida to see her HS friend for a week.  I always have a double whammy with her.  I'll call her today for a 2-for-1 special.  Today is her birthday.  I found out yesterday she saw her first alligator.  I'm sure she's having a lot of fun.  I'm off this weekend and will have a remote in hand tonight to watch game 7 (come on Rangers!), the Bucs, and the Southern 500.

My mom's friend has a little canal or creek right behind her house, and there's one back there.  I guess she took my mom on a little hunt to find him yesterday, and they found him alright.

Perspective is a funny thing, E! claims that if I have missed an episode of Khloe and Lamar, I have missed a lot. I have never watched an episode and yet I feel as though I have missed nothing.

World Peace returns tonight, which means everytime he misses a shot, commits a penalty, does something stupid. I get to yell out in a crowded bar "F**k World Peace!" It ammuses me and my buddy Doc, even if no one else finds it funny.

Tomorrow mom gets a card, flowers and spicy seafood stew.

iCarly is the best.  I wish I had a brother like Spencer.  And a bestie like Sam.  And a Gibbeh that I could chase around yelling "GIBBEH."  THAT would be fun.

Go Lakers.  F**K Boston.  Can somebody PLEEEEEEZE poke Ra**n R**do in the damn eye?

I saw Dark Shadows today.  Johnny Depp is Ah. Maze. Ing.  So is Tim Burton.  The movie was SO wonderfully campy that I was enraptured the whole time.

And just because I'm watching iCarly tonight....

I know, you see
Somehow the world will change for me
And be so wonderful

Live life, breathe air
I know somehow we're gonna get there
And feel so wonderful
And it's all for real

I'm telling you just how I feel
So wake up the members of my nation
It's your time to be
There's no chance unless you take one
And it's time to see
The brighter side of every situation
Somethings are meant to be
So give your best and leave the rest to me
Leave it all to me
Leave it all to me
Just leave it all to me

Well, the Caps didn't win. Where's my pizza (or does that only apply to Lionel Hutz)?

Here's the thing. They showed resilience this playoffs that I never expected given their past history. Did they play well tonight? No, but overall they played better than I ever expected. At the same time, under Dale Hunter, the Caps have basically played coin flip hockey. Thus, is it really a surprise they went 7-7 total in the playoffs? It shouldn't be.

In the end, the Caps figured out their goalie of the present and future, and I would think restored some of their reputations, so they won't be seen as complete mental midgets (save with Pittsburgh fans, but trust me, they live in their own plane of reality, so *bleep* those useless ass*****). Is that a success? In a way, yes, although it's certainly just a moral victory.

So there it is. I've got the Orioles kicking ass, and of course the 500, so all is well.

Also, for the record, a Kings/Caps final would've been interesting, just for the juxtaposition between each team's biggest fan on this site.

Work ended up being mostly okay.  Missed most of the race, missed hockey and now the hubster has Deadliest Catch on.  Supposed to be around 74F tomorrow, so I will spend the day in my yard, getting my golf cart ready to go.  I was going to golf this coming Ladies night, but now I have to work it instead.  Sucks.

One of the women who was golfing in our group has a serious alcohol problem.  she came into the liquor store earlier this week and was served by a coworker, but shouldn't have been.  Then she came in the next day and again was served, but shouldn't have been.  The first time I was in the back working, the second night I was on another till.  When her brother came back in half an hour later to get more booze, he was asked to leave and told he would not be served again that day.  I talked to a mutual friend about it and she told me that she has tried to talk to her, with no luck.  She is going to kill herself, driving drunk, and I can only hope her children are not with her when she does.

It's still light out, but we have a forest fire about 20 miles from her, 140 hectares.  The air quality sucks.

Happy Mother's Day all you mothers!!!

Happy Mother's Day! Hugs.

And now I must pray. Courtesy of Surly Jacob from lakingsnews.com.

In the name of the Captain, the Son of Philly and the Holy Goalie.

Amen.

Bless us Oh Hockey Gods, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, through LA Kings, Our Team. Amen.

Blessed are You, Kings our Team and Team of our fathers, Team of Dionne, Team of Luc and Team of Gretzky, the great, mighty and awesome Team, exalted Team, who bestows bountiful goals, who creates all wins, who remembers the insanity of the fans, and who, in love, brings a redeemer to their fans’ children, for the sake of Our Kings.

Peace be upon no Phoenix fan, without mercy or blessing of Kings.

Holy Sutter, Holy Stevens;
We give you thanks
that your Schemes, Attitude and Leadership
Are manifest with Power and Pressure
throughout all zones,
within all lines,
and we accept your Tutelage now,
in defense and forecheck.

I pray to the wunderkind, the play-maker, destroyer of all cap space, the enemy of forwards, of great brilliance, the descendent of Orr and of Borque, the one who shines like the Dewey flower.

I invoke and call upon thee O Father Mitchell,
Lord of long stick, Master of all lanes and gaps.
I invite you to the blue line;
Defend it, sustain it, make it home.

As it was,
As it is,
As it shall be
Evermore
O Thou Carter
Of goals!
With the forehand
With the backhand
O Thou Carter
Of goals!
With the forehand
With the backhand

Voices above,
Voices of Fans,
Yell from your couch or barstool;
Voices below,
LA King’s Inner-voices,
Speak from the dreams of childhood;
So may our playoffs be beautiful.

Our Kings, who art in Phoenix
Hallowed be thy game.
Thy kingdom come, thy wills be done
On their ice, as it was on the Blues’
Give us this day our daily goals, and forgive no Coyote their transgressions,
As we pound into submission those who trespass against us.
And lead us past the third round,
Past these evil Coyote f**ks.
Amen.

Hail Kopi, full of grace, the fans are with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst players and blessed are the fruit of thy skills, goals.
Holy Kopi, dominant of centers, play for us sinners,
Now until the hour of our Cup.
A-f**king-men.

Just for that I'd love to see the Pens sweep the Caps all 4 games next season.  The Pens have been out of the playoffs and that was really unnecessary, but you had to say something derogatory towards an ENTIRE fan base?  Please spare me, Eric.  That said, game 5 was a classic Caps playoff choke job.

I was a little lax with NASCAR this week - Work took priority.  However, here's a recap of the race, the week, my thoughts on a bunch of NASCAR related stuff.

My kids slept in, I did not.  After a couple of "Ahems!!" they remembered the day and my daughter presented me with a beautiful car she made herself.  Why is it the home made ones can make you tear up so much quicker than anything Hallmark does?

What is it with the Pirates and Astros and extra innings at PNC Park?  That's not the first time.  This one only lasted 12 and the Bucs got a 3-2 walk-off win, but that's nothing.  I sat through the 18 inning game between these 2 teams a few years ago.

Mother's Day was wonderful.  Cooked momz up Korean pork chops, her famous baked beans, and a few other sides.  Ya boy went against the grain this year and bought some baller a*s daisies....and let me tell you, the flower shop was on SLAM.  Walked half way in and decided the delivery fee was well worth it.  We also watched her favorite movie, Somewhere in Time.

Like MJ told his pops after winning title #1...."Thanks for bringing me into this world, mom!"
