I switched to DirecTV about a year and a half ago and have had no problems with it.  Even with nasty storms, I very rarely lose the signal.  It's a little pricey since I have the premier package, every movie channel and the center ice package, but what are you gonna do? I don't do Sunday Ticket though since I'm like Kenne and watching the games out with the rowdies

I just checked online and to new customers they're offering free NFL Sunday Ticket for the 2012 season with a package of Choice Extra or better. That package is 40 a month. Why does that sound fantastic to me?

I had Directv for 7 years until 3 months ago when I moved.  I can't have it where I live now unless i want to fork over $500+ for a custom install. The current place I live in is new construction and there are restrictions as far as having cables exposed on the outside of the town homes.

I loved DIRECTV!!  Never had any problems.  I think I lost signals, maybe 5x over the 7 yrs and it was always in the winter when a heavy snow storm was coming down.  i think the longest I didn't have a signal was 20 minutes, but, if I lost signal it was just for a minute or less??

I HIGHLY recommend it over cable and The Dish!  If you are comparing, Directv blows away The Dish when it comes to the number of channels that you can get.

DirecTV customer since 2002 and I LOVE it. Customer service is great.

I've moved 3 times (about to be 4) since then and this is the first city that I've lived in since I got DTV. I've never had ANY problems with it, no matter what my cell signal is. As a matter of fact, cell towers go down all the time where I used to live in Oregon due to storms and I never once lost DirecTV - satellite TV doesn't work the same as cell phones.

Where I live now is very clear and not wooded at all, but my previous two residents were very wooded (as will be the next place), and actually in base housing in both Washington and Oregon, that's ALL anybody had because cable is tough to get on base for whatever reason.

I have Sunday Ticket, Extra Innings, and Center Ice packages - all of which have been fantastic. No issues whatsoever (I just sometimes wish they'd give us long-term loyal customers some of the same great deals they give new sign-ups.)

Once in a great while when it's raining heavily I will lose signal for a few seconds, but that's to be expected.

I would highly recommend it. My mom has Dish and she doesn't get near the amount of channels for the price she pays as she would with DirecTV. And I have friends who have cable who can't get Sunday Ticket - that would suck.

DirecTV wouldn't hire me so I'm canceling my satellite service with them. If they won't give me money why should I give them mine?

Hey Nick, Have you ever had any problems with their bill? I was ready reviews and most were complaining about bills being higher then they were told and that was especially true with the folks that had them take it right from their accounts?

Thanks Jess, I'm fairly well convinced to try it because I want NFL Sunday Ticket so much. I can get the middle package for about 69.00 a month and for the first NFL season it would include the Sunday Ticket.  I may just do that for my main TV and keep Fios for awhile on the others till I'm sure I'm ok here signal wise and all.

I think I had a problem with my Bill once and it was within the first year of service, which was 7 years ago, but, never had any problems since that time.

I pay $95 for Direct TV, for 3 converter boxes and more than I can look at channels but no NFL Ticket, way too much and 69.00 EXTRA  for that, kind of a waste because the Cowboys games are never blacked out anyways, whats the point unless you follow lots of teams....

Or you follow a team that doesn't get as much media coverage as the Cowboys. Or you live across the country from your favorite team.

(I'm just posting different reasons here that make sense for people to have it...I don't find it a waste at all. Then again, I'm one of those crazy people who will live close to my fave team this season, have season tickets, AND NFL Sunday ticket to watch all sorts of teams on the weekends that the Hawks don't play at home).

They did drop the price 40% this season, I read.

I checked the Cowboys schedule and of the 16 games they play, there would be 9 games not aired where I live due to either the Eagles, Ravens or Redskins playing at the same time. That's why I want it. I have Fios and RedZone but I'd rather see the whole game and not just redzone moments.

Yea, a lot of people I know love RedZone but I'm not a fan. I don't want to just see scoring all day - I want to see the hits and other exciting plays. A lot goes on all over the field throughout a game, and I want to see it.

I usually watch NFL games at a bar, so I can watch multiple screens at once and catch all the live games at the same time while drinking a few and being surrounded by drunken fan enthusiasm and cheering / booing.

i  looked  into  switching  to  DirecTV  about  a  year  ago,  but  since  my  current  carrier,  Optimum Cable  owns  MSG  and  the  Rangers,  they  have  exclusive  rights  to  the  games.  There's  nothing  wrong  with  the  service  except  that  it's  a bit  pricey.  If  you  need  the  techs  for  questions,  they're  always  very  helpful.  I know  they  offer  an  extra  NBA  package  and  an  extra  NHL  package  as  well  as  an  MLB  package  but  I  haven't  seen  an  NFL  Sunday  ticket,  probably  because  it  isn't  in   season  yet.  I  just  watch  my  game  of  the  week or  Monday  night

Been a direct tv customer since 2004 love really never had a problem it. Have 3 tv's in the bar room so the NFL Sunday ticket is spot on and this season its the lowest its ever been sounds like a steal to me. Once they carry the longhorn network I'll never leave.

Steal cable from your neighbors.  It'll save you over a grand/year.

I'm sure Jess. When I read the reviews there was only about one happy customer for every thirty. That's why I'm concerned, but I think what I'm gonna do is get Direct TV for only my 60 inch TV and keep Fios too. That why if I have problems with signal the first month I can connect Fios to it while waiting on them to come uninstall it.  I still have to call them and see if I can get a 30 day trial with it.

Dish is the best i have Cable it sucked Direct it was ok but price increase a there contract was a joke .Plus Direct programs vs cost and if a clod passed over the Direct would black out .Dish it could rain no problem during a heavy storm at times there will be a lost of picture .That is ok during that time it is time to take pictures of a cool storm when this happens. In north central Indiana is wear i live.
